Abstract: An assembly for mounting tubeless tires on tube type rims. The assembly includes a pair of cooperating annuluses that define respective seating surfaces each of which are adapted for receiving one of the companion beads of the tire. One of the annuluses is telescoped onto the rim and positioned adjacent the rim flange integrally formed with the rim proximate one of its axial end portions. A locking annulus secured to the opposite axial end portion of the rim is adapted for receiving the companion bead and can be readily secured to or removed from the rim for purposes of mounting or demounting the tubeless tire without forcing the beads over a flared flange. The locking annulus may be mounted on a variety of conventional tube type rims while maintaining the bead seating surface at a predetermined spaced location from the rim wall. A suitable pneumatic inner tube inserted in the tire serves to prevent air from escaping the confines of the tubeless tire which may have damaged sealing properties.
Abstract: The use of a solution of oleic acid, acetone, ammonium hydroxide and water as a treatment of athlete's foot and ringworm. The treatment comprises a topical application of the solution or for cases of acute athlete's foot, soaking the affected members in a diluted solution. The solution comprises about 4 parts oleic acid mixed with acetone. The oleic acid and acetone mixture is then mixed with 8 parts of aqua ammonia (ammonium hydroxide) to form a concentrated solution. This concentrated solution is then diluted with 128 parts of water for soaking applications and 32 parts water for topical applications.
Abstract: A portable lighting system which includes a stand having an adjustable effective length which positions lights carried on a frame at a predetermined vertical position with respect to a supporting surface. The frame is releasably secured to the stand and can readily be set up and dismantled for transport in a compact space. Lights carried by the frame are connected to a foot operated control box which includes switches actuated to energize preselected lights or groups of lights. The energized lights or preselected energized lights can be intensity modulated with a foot operated dimmer while leaving the operator's hands free to play a musical instrument.
Abstract: A folding pocket knife which can be readily disassembled for cleaning and blade replacement. The pocket knife comprises a case having first and further cooperating case members. A blade is pivotally mounted at one end portion of the case on a pivot pin which assists in securing the case members together. A spring assembly serves to secure the portions of the case members opposite the case end carrying the blade and applies biasing forces to the blade tang which assists in maintaining the blade in its opened or closed position after being moved to one of such positions by an operator.
