  • Patent number: 7175617
Abstract: A hand held device generates a predetermined number of pulses of light having a predetermined electromagnetic spectrum, a predetermined duration, a predetermined inter-pulse interval, and a predetermined total energy. The pulse sequence is delivered to a skin surface to temporarily remove hair. A period of time for reappearance of hair on the selected skin surface after the using of the device to remove hair from the selected skin surface is determined by counting the days to hair reappearance after a test light application. Subsequently, the device is used periodically to apply the pulses of light to the selected skin surface at intervals of shorter length than the determined period of hair regeneration, thereby temporarily maintaining the selected skin surface free of visible hair.

  • Patent number: 7173386
Abstract: An apparatus for over current detection of a dual motor for use in a vehicle. This invention prevents each motor from burning out by more precisely detecting an over current of each motor in the dual motor within an overall drive area of the dual motor. This can be accomplished by setting, as an over current detection reference current, a predefined range between a normal current and a constraint current of each motor by drive input conditions of each use motor, detecting a current of each motor flowing in field effect transistor (FET) via a shunt resistor and a differential amplifier, and comparing the detected currents with the over current detection reference currents.

  • Patent number: 7138257
Abstract: A method for producing ethanol starting from corn flours, which provides for the milling of the corn, the separation of the light fractions (bran), a first refining of the milled fractions, a first sifting with germ separation, a second refining of the milled fractions, and a second sifting with germ separation. In particular, according to the invention, impact milling of the wet corn is provided so as to preserve the largest possible average particle size of the milled fractions, and subsequent crushing of the germ is also provided, so as to facilitate size separation thereof. With respect to known systems for producing ethanol starting from corn flours, the method according to the invention allows to extract from corn at least 7%, preferably at least 10% (by weight with respect to the initial product) of pure germ (i.e., germ not contaminated by other components) and at least 1% pure bran, preferably at least 2.

  • Patent number: 7134449
Abstract: A valve body is provided with at one end with a threaded shank for hermetic coupling to a gas container. The valve body is further provided with a handwheel incorporating a gas status indicator device. That device includes a spring-loaded plunger having a head and a helical stem that is engaged in a cavity of a rotatable body so that an axial movement of the plunger, in opposition to a spring biasing force, results in a rotation of the rotatable body. A visible portion of the rotatable body is marked so as to provide an indication of the axial position of the plunger relative to the handwheel, to thereby indicate gas pressure.
