  • Patent number: 8265332
Abstract: A speaker diaphragm with a circular opening in a center zone thereof has a pattern of concave and convex sections formed on a front surface or a rear surface thereof. A plurality of concave and convex sections are formed in each of regions provided at a regular interval with a specific angle in a circumferential direction of the diaphragm. The concave and convex sections formed in each region have different sizes in a radial direction of the diaphragm. The concave and convex sections formed in adjacent regions are displaced from each other in the radial direction. The concave and convex sections formed on the diaphragm are aligned on at least a first and a second imaginary curved line, respectively, each imaginary curved line passing regions and approaching an inner periphery of the circular opening from an outer periphery of the diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 8261904
Abstract: A coin depositing and dispensing machine prevents a foreign object mixed together with coins put in a coin receiving port from causing a malfunction, facilitates distinguishing coins of a depositing and transporting system from coins of a dispensing and transporting system, and facilitates removal of a coin jam. Coins received from a coin receiving port are fed separately by a feeding unit to a depositing and transporting unit. A rotary disc rotated at a position tilted at a predetermined angle is used for the feeding unit. By using the rotary disc, only coins are fed to the depositing and transporting unit, and foreign objects are eliminated. The depositing and transporting unit and a dispensing and transporting unit are arranged opposite to each other in a machine body, and the depositing and transporting unit is tilted together with the rotary disc. Coins in each unit are thereby easily distinguished from each other.

  • Patent number: 8256086
Abstract: A method for producing a missile nose cone is disclosed. The method consists of manufacturing a first missile nose cone from a first lot of polymeric material and determining a first rupture value. The method further consists of manufacturing a second missile nose cone from a second lot of polymeric material and determining a second rupture value of the second missile nose cone. Both first and second lots of material are mixed into a test batch with one another based on their associated rupture values. An evaluation missile nose cone is then manufactured from the test batch and a determination is made as to whether the evaluation missile nose cone has a desired rupture value. If a desired rupture value is not obtained, then the mixing and evaluation steps are repeated.

  • Patent number: 8251191
Abstract: A wet brake cooling fluid system includes a cooling fluid supply line that is divided into a plurality of parallel paths. One path is in fluid communication with the motive side of a venturi eductor pump. Another pump is directed into the brake after passing through a fixed orifice that restricts flow. At least on path is in fluid communication with the brake after passing through a valve that is piloted to a brake piston, the valve only opening upon actuation of the brake. A drain hose connects the brake to the suction side of the venturi eductor pump, thereby causing evacuation of the fluid from the brake. Due to the restriction of fluid flowing into the brake by the valve, the brake chamber remains substantially empty during non-braking conditions, and is flooded upon actuation of the brake and opening of the valve.

  • Patent number: 8249698
Abstract: General diagnostic and real-time application of digital Hermite functions allows features to be extracted from a measured signal through expansion of the measured signal. Specifically, the digital Hermite functions represent the shape of the measured signal in a set of vectors derived from a symmetrical tridiagonal matrix. This allows for efficient computation of the Hermite expansion coefficients, in real-time, to represent the expanded signal. The signal expansion also allows any artifacts, such as noise, to be isolated and removed, allowing the underlying signal of interest to be revealed.
