  • Patent number: 4978072
Abstract: An airbrush with a fluid cup or the like which is removably retained on the airbrush and is adapted for containing and delivering fluids to be sprayed by the airbrush. The cup has a hollow reservoir portion and an attached tube portion. The reservoir portion is formed for retaining fluids disposed therein. The tube portion is non-concentrically fixedly attached at one end to a bottom of the reservoir portion and the end distal the reservoir removably inserts into a bore formed in the airbrush. The airbrush has a major axis running the length of the body and the bore in the airbrush is generally formed non-perpendicular to this major axis. The non-concentric mounting of the tube to the reservoir and the angle of the mounting bore permit the removable cup to be rotated within the mounting bore to remove it from the line of sight of a user.

  • Patent number: 4971259
Abstract: A coffee grinder in which coffee beans can be selectively fed by gravity to the grinder mechanism from either of two hoppers. Separate reciprocable slides close off or open separate discharge openings communicating between the bottom of each hopper and the grinder inlet for beans. The slides are operated by separate solenoids. An electrical control circuit including a dual timer, two solenoids and the grinder motor, allow an operator to selectively grind a predetermined quantity of beans from either of the hoppers.

  • Patent number: 4972155
Abstract: A test apparatus for determining a given property, by weight, such as moisture content, of a material such as a grain or the like, comprises a chamber for receiving a sample of material to be tested, having an open top portion through which the material may be introduced therein for testing. An electrical circuit is operatively coupled with the chamber for producing an electrical measurement signal corresponding to the property to be determined and an indicator provides an observable indication of the given property of material in accordance with the corresponding electrical measurement signals. A measurement initiating control in responsive to the accumulation of a predetermined measurement weight of material in the chamber for initiating the operation of the circuit. A further warning control is responsive to the weight of material in the chamber reaching a second, predetermined warning weight slightly less than the predetermined measurement weight for producing a warning signal.

  • Patent number: 4968633
Abstract: An allergological test for detecting an allergic condition, said test consisting in contacting the mucous membrane direct with the allergen or the anti-IgE antibody linked to a solid phase, so that a rapid in situ incubation is obtained of the allergen or of the anti-IgE antibody with the mucous membrane antibodies, and in the successive in vitro determination of the specific or total IgE through radioimmunological or immunoenzymatic procedures. Said testing procedure is carried out by employing a plastic material application device comprising one or more receptacles or housing in which some supports are inserted, such supports bearing allergens or anti-IgE antibodies linked to the supports themselves. Said testing procedure can also be employed for performing a particular test of specific challenging.

  • Patent number: 4963750
Abstract: A unit for the sterilization of fluid media, for example contaminated water, the unit including a source of germicidal radiation disposed substantially centrally within a tubular structure or housing, there being provided between said source of germicidal radiation and the innermost surface of said tubular structure an annular passage constituting a flow path for the fluid media. The unit is capable of providing a lethal or "killing" dosage of germicidal radiation, in excess of 99.99% "kill", even for very large flow rates of fluid media through the unit.

  • Patent number: 4954716
Abstract: A package for shielded handling of a detector element and for selective exposure of said detector element to radiation, typically in radon detection of emitted alpha particle radiation, is provided in a unitary assembly. The package provides a support structure for securement of a detector member within the package and includes a shielding structure for selective insulation of the detector member in a shielding position of the support structure to prevent background irradiation of the detector member during handling and transport to and from the irradiation monitoring location. The package provides selective exposure of the detector element to irradiation in an exposing position of the support structure at the monitoring location. The package is provided with transport structure for relatively moving the support structure with the detector member so that the detector member can be selectively displaced between shielding and exposing positions.

  • Patent number: RE33456
Abstract: A conveyor system for delivering feed to a plurality of animal cages arranged in rows said system comprises an endless conduit extending along a conduit run past at least one of the rows of cages and through a feed trough disposed adjacent the faces of the row of cages. An elongate, continuous, endless material moving element extends through the endless conduit run and is longitudinally movable therethrough, and a driver element advances the endless material moving element along and through the conduit run. The material moving element comprises an elongate helical member defining a longitudinal helix axis and bendable about this axis for following the endless conduit run. Cooperating structure on the driver element and on the helical member rotates the helical member about the helix axis thereof while simultaneously axially advancing the helical member along and through the conduit run.
