Abstract: The rotating coherent electromagnetic emission instrumentation apparatus provides instrumentation for cataloguing environmental anomalies that may occur along the circumferential path of a rotating electromagnetic (EM) wave beam having sufficient RPM that the instantaneous change in radial direction of the beam approaches light speed. Under those conditions, it is hypothesized that environmental anomalies, such as energy spikes, which ultimately can be harnessed as an energy source, may occur along or proximate to the circumferential beam path. Sensors are disposed along the circumferential path of the rotating beam. Sensor data providing energy readings are recorded in real time. The sensor data is analyzed in real time, and also post-processed. Since the wavefront energy is known along the circumference, any energy spikes recorded may be attributed to mass-like sub-measurable elements of space that may have come in contact with the mass-like components of the high speed rotating electromagnetic wave.
Abstract: The gas flow restrictor includes a cylindrical body having threads for mounting the body in a gas flow line. One end of the body is closed and includes a plurality of angularly spaced plugs having a predefined diameter that may be the same or different from each other. Each plug is selectively removable from a correspondingly sized orifice, singly or in combination, to set the desired gas flow and thereby reduce incoming gas flow pressure through the lines.
Abstract: The carbon-free gas turbine is a power-producing turbine driven by the combustion of hydrocarbon fuels with oxygen. The carbon-free gas turbine includes at least one combustor for combusting gaseous fuel with oxygen. The at least one combustor includes a housing containing at least one oxygen transport reactor. The oxygen transport reactor includes an outer wall and an inner cylindrical ion transport membrane. The membrane receives pressurized air and separates gaseous oxygen therefrom, transporting the oxygen into a central region thereof for combustion with the gaseous hydrocarbon fuel, producing gaseous carbon dioxide and water vapor. A first turbine is driven by the gaseous carbon dioxide and water vapor produced by the at least one combustor and drives a first compressor. The first compressor provides the pressurized air supplied to the at least one combustor. A second turbine is driven by pressurized nitrogen gas resulting from the combustion.

Abstract: The retractable wheel lock has a wheel axle assembly that includes a hub forming a housing with an opening. The hub is freely rotatable about the axle. A retractable cable including a male locking element is coiled in the hub and can be retractably paid out from the hub, guided through a frame of an attached bicycle, around a bike rack, pole, or the like, and then back into a female lock socket affixed to the hub to conveniently secure the bicycle in a theft resistant manner. Alternative embodiments allow a rim to rotate freely around the hub.
Abstract: The pet harness with restraint includes a rigid lateral bar or rod attached across the shoulder strap of a harness. The bar serves to prevent the animal from escaping between the vertical uprights of a fence or similar enclosure. The harness preferably comprises a pair of foreleg loops, a chest strap interconnecting the foreleg loops, and a pair of connecting straps that extend from the loops over the shoulders of the animal. Alternatively, the harness may comprise a collar portion and a body-encircling strap joined by longitudinal chest and dorsal straps. The bar may be permanently attached across the shoulder or dorsal straps of the harness, but is preferably removable to provide a versatile harness. The bar may be attached to the harness by snap fasteners, by insertion into a sleeve attached to the harness, etc. The harness may include elastic sections therein to provide greater adjustment for growing pets.
Abstract: The card game combines aspects of Texas hold'em and raffle drawings. A plurality of mutually different cards or car representations is provided to each player as scratch-off or tear-off tickets, or cards in an envelope. A common multiple card hand is provided for player to form optimum hands with their card representations. The maximum number of player hands in a single distinct set, with each hand having mutually distinct cards therein, is determined by the number of cards in each hand and the number of distinct cards in the deck. The game may be played by a large group in lieu of conventional raffle ticket drawings, and provides for elimination of identical cards between each player hand and the common hand. At least one winning hand occurs with every game, as winning is comparative between players rather than absolute as in conventional raffle play.
Abstract: The method and device for cutting fresh tissue slices utilizes a vibrating microtome. The vibrating microtome uses a cutting blade that vibrates in a horizontal direction. The microtome has a base, a specimen holder attached to the base, and a diagonal slide carriage and support arm that are supported on the base for movement diagonally with respect to the specimen holder. A vibrating blade support is located on the support arm and moves horizontally with respect to the specimen holder. A cutting blade is mounted on the vibrating blade support and moves in a compound diagonal and vibrating motion with respect to the specimen holder.
Abstract: The truck bed extender (10) has three panels (12, 26a, 26b) removably attached to the edge of the vehicle tailgate (G) and the rear portions (LR, RR) of the cargo box sidewalls (LW, RW). The deployed extender (10) increases the vehicle capacity and efficiency. The side panels (26a, 26b) fold against the inner surface of the primary panel (12) and the primary panel (12) folds against the inner surface of the tailgate (G) for compact storage of the assembly. The panel assembly (10) may be quickly and easily removed from the permanently installed hinges (14a, 14b) on the vehicle tailgate (G). The extender assembly (10) may be deployed, stored, removed, and installed without tools, once the primary panel hinges (14a, 14b) and side panel attachment brackets have been installed on the vehicle.
Abstract: The material sample collector is adapted to divert a sample of material from a trough conveyor for analysis of the sample. The collector includes at least one, and preferably two or more, laterally offset wheels rotating on axles. The wheels are in a vertical plane forming an acute dihedral angle with a vertical plane in which the central longitudinal axis of the conveyor is disposed. Each wheel subtends an elliptical segment extending across a portion of the width of the conveyor when viewed from an end of the conveyor. A sample chute extends laterally from the conveyor. The wheels are normally raised above the conveyor and its contents, and lowered when a sample is taken. The lowered wheels bear against the conveyor and/or its contents, diverting material from the conveyor onto a chute. The device is preferably manually operated, but may be powered and automated.
Abstract: There is disclosed an automatic electronic window shading (tinting) system for houses and transport vehicles such as automobiles, RV's, trains, boats and the like, to provide shading for people to protect them from exposure to harmful direct sunlight, by providing the windows of said houses and transport vehicles with display elements and light (photocell/photovoltaic) sensors. The system comprises liquid crystal, electrochromic, suspended particle device (SPD), or NanoChromics display (NCD) element attached to a part of a transparent body (such as the windows) and a liquid crystal, electrochromic, suspended particle device (SPD), or NanoChromics display (NCD) controlling semiconductor element controlling the operation of the display element.
Abstract: The method for elliptic curve scalar multiplication in an elliptic curve cryptosystem implemented over an insecure communications channel includes the steps of: (a) selecting positive integers Lx and Ly, where Lx and Ly are not both equal to 1, and where Ly?3 if Lx=2; (b) representing coordinates of a point P=(x,y) on an elliptic curve of the form F(x,y)=y2?x3?ax?b=0 defined over a finite field as projective coordinates according to transforms x = X Z L x ? ? and ? ? y = Y Z L y , respectively; and (c) adding together K copies, K being a scalar, of the point P(X,Y,ZLx,ZLy) to obtain the scalar multiplication product KP. The scalar multiplication product is then converted from parameterized projective coordinates P(X,Y,ZLx,ZLy) to affine coordinates P(x,y). The method is optimized by restricting Ly so that Ly?Lx?0 or, alternatively, so that Ly=Lx.

Abstract: The heated steering wheel cover includes a resilient, flexible, substantially annular member having an open bottom portion enabling the substantially annular member to be removably fitted over a vehicle's steering wheel. A heating element is disposed inside of the steering wheel cover. A battery pack is electrically connected to the heating element. A switch is electrically connected to the battery pack and selectively turns the heating element on or off. The battery pack is removably attachable to a portion of the vehicle proximate the steering wheel so that safe operation of the heating element is possible while the vehicle is being driven.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fuel injection system for a combustion engine. The system comprises a source of fuel, an injector and a means for delivering pressurized fuel strokes to said injector, said injector being arranged for generating at least two fuel jets with different jet parameters at closely adjacent locations and having directions such that the jets interact with each other along a surface interface therebetween so as to generate a fine spray. The jet breakup time is shortened and the droplet size is substantially reduced.
Abstract: The convection baffle for hollow blocks increases the R-value of a hollow block when one or more convection dampers are received within passages defined through the hollow block. The convection baffle includes an upper wall having laterally opposed first and second side edges, a lower wall having laterally opposed first and second side edges, first and second laterally opposed sidewalls, and a central wall having opposed upper and lower edges. The convection baffle is substantially G-shaped. The convection baffle decreases convection current flow within the passage of the hollow block to increase the overall R-value of the hollow block.
Abstract: The batting helmet is a training helmet having an extendable panel on each side of the helmet. Each panel is slidably mounted in a hollow case or sheath attached to the ear flap and extends forward from the ear flap at eye level. The panel is extendable in discrete increments, preferably to three different lengths, to offer a greater or lesser degree of restriction of the batter's field of vision according to the batter's skill level. In order to accomplish incremental extension, the panel has a resilient tab or button that locks into one of a plurality of slots defined in the case to lock the panel at the desired length. The panel restricts the batter's vision to focus the batter's attention on the pitched ball, often requiring the batter to turn his head to see the ball leave the pitcher's hand and follow its flight.
Abstract: The handcart has various embodiments, each embodiment having a pair of larger wheels at the back of the load-carrying platform and a rear axle located above the plane of at least the forward portion of the platform. Smaller caster wheels are mounted on arms extending forward and outward from the forward corners of the platform. The outward ends of the arms are displaced upwardly to place the platform bottom only very slightly higher than the bottoms of the forward casters, thus increasing stability by lowering the center of gravity of the cart and contents, and facilitating loading and unloading of the cart due to the very low platform. The cart need not be tilted rearward to lift the platform from the floor, but may be pushed over the underlying surface with the load-carrying platform remaining level and with all four wheels rolling over the underlying surface.
Abstract: The evaporative desalination system removes salt and contaminants from brine or salt water to produce purified potable water. The evaporative desalination system includes an inclined housing having a raised upper end and a lower end. An upper wall of the inclined housing is formed from an optically transparent material, such as glass. A plurality of stepped evaporator trays are mounted within the inclined housing, and a water collection tray is disposed within the inclined housing adjacent the lower end. Ambient light is transmitted through the optically transparent upper wall, causing the salt water contained within the plurality of stepped evaporator trays to evaporate. Evaporated water vapor rises from each evaporator tray to form a layer of condensed pure water on the inner surface of the upper wall. The condensed pure water drips toward the lower end of the inclined housing to collect in the water collection tray.

Abstract: The vacuum attachment for a router table removes wood chips, dust, and debris during operation of the router. The attachment includes a hollow annular housing adapted for mounting about the router. The annular housing has an upper edge, a lower edge and at least one sidewall, with the upper and lower edges being adapted for sealing engagement with an external surface of the router. At least one vent hole is formed through the annular housing and a vacuum port is formed therethrough, so that a vacuum source connected to the vacuum port is in fluid communication with an interior of the annular housing. When the annular housing is mounted about the router and aligned with an opening in the base of the router, the vacuum source draws debris away from the router and the router table, with environmental air entering the interior through the vent holes.
Abstract: The time-release dental adhesive is made as a two-part preparation to increase shelf life. The first part contains three monomers (hydroxyethyl methacrylate [HEMA], triethyleneglycol dimethacrylate [TEG-DMA], and bisphenol A di(ethyl-methacrylate) [BPA-DEMA]), glycerol, a polymerization catalyst, a filler, and a stabilizer. The second part contains the same three monomers listed above, an acrylic resin to increase viscosity, an accelerator, a filler, and a sugar or sugar-based sweetener. When desired for use, the two parts are mixed in a 1:1 ratio by weight. The adhesive cures to a strong, hard bonding agent, but gradually weakens in the presence of moisture to provide a time-release adhesive. The amount of elapsed time before release of the adhesive may be controlled by changing the quantity of sugar or sugar-based sweetener in the adhesive.
