Abstract: A recording apparatus and method utilizing a photo-thermoplastic recording medium and a carriage mounted corona charging device. Means are provided to delay exposure of the recording medium until vibrations from the carriage have ceased. Means are provided for both manual and automatic operation.
Abstract: A device for applying pressure to a stack of flat items such as sheets, cards, plates or the like, which device is primarily intended for use in an apparatus which feeds items from the stack for further processing. The device provides a constant pressure on the stack, regardless of whether the stack is in full or depleted condition, and, in this way, the device substantially reduces the possibility of malfunctioning by way of two items being fed at once. The device includes a slide member which is linearly movable in a housing, a main weight movable with respect to the slide member, and a roller. The slide member, main weight and roller are operatively coupled together so that the slide member will be urged in the feeding direction under constant force.
Abstract: An improved apparatus is disclosed for developing images on an electrophotographic copy sheet, characterized by the provision of a distribution roller having a soft porous peripheral surface for evenly spreading the toner dispersion on the electrophotographic copy sheet. The distribution roller is arranged between pairs of in-feed and squeeze roller means arranged in the developing chamber for transporting the electrophotographic sheet therethrough. Improved spray tube means are also provided for spraying the toner dispersion uniformly upon the peripheral surface of the upper in-feed roller.
Abstract: A boat trailer with a telescoping tongue for facilitating the launching of a boat is described. The trailer is towed in a retracted position and, for launching and mooring, the tongue is telescoped by a positive drive to an extended position, wherein detachment and further mooring of the boat with respect to the trailer can be effected remotely.
Abstract: A photocopying apparatus is disclosed of the type including optical means for progressively scanning an object in a strip-like manner and for projecting the image of the scanned strip portion of the object on a light-responsive medium that travels in synchronism with the scanning means. The invention is characterized by the provision of exposure means including a bundle of light conducting rods for illuminating the scanned strip portion of the object. The light output ends of the rods are arranged in a narrow zone that extends adjacent the object normal to the direction of scanning by the optical scanning means.
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the manufacture of a series of photoconductor webs spaced apart from each other on a carrier web by electrically conductive spacing strips extending transversely of the carrier web, comprising (a) transporting a carrier web having an electrically conductive surface disposed thereon in a feed direction across a backing member and in close proximity to a slot die arranged transversely to the feed direction; (b) pumping a photoconductive coating solution into the slot die; (c) flowing the photoconductive solution intermittently from the slot die orifice onto the carrier web for periods of time sufficient to produce the spaced photoconductor webs, the flow of the coating solution being substantially uniform during each coating period and the entire quantity of coating solution required for each coating photoconductor web being extruded from the slot die orifice in the form of a substantially uniform stream; (d) maintaining the distance between the carrier web and the die orifice constan
