Abstract: An acrylic urethane prepolymer composition and an unsaturated polyester resin composition to which the prepolymer has been added. The prepolymer composition includes an acrylic urethane prepolymer prepared by the reaction of diisocyanate, such as MDI, with an hydroxyl-containing acrylate monomer, such as a pentaerythritol triacrylate. The prepolymer composition contains a styrene monomer and an inhibitor, such as benzoquinone, to retard the reaction of the prepolymer and styrene monomer prior to the addition of the prepolymer composition into the polyester resin composition and a photoinitiator to promote the polymerization of the resin by exposure to radiant energy. The employment of the urethane prepolymer composition provides for the reduction in the amount of styrene monomer used in the unsaturated resin composition and also provides for improved chemical and physical properties of the photocured, unsaturated resin composition.
Abstract: A variable flexible bodyboard, which includes therein, at least one variable, flexible stringer rod. The stringer rod composed of a material to impart stiffness to the body of the bodyboard, such as a fiber-resin material, and a material to impart flexibility to the front nose area of the bodyboard, such as a polyethylene material.
Abstract: A stress-optic beam scanner and system which includes a stress-optic material selected to permit the scanning of an optical beam on a target typically over a scanning angle of greater than five degrees. The system includes a piezoelectric element controlled by a microprocessor to control the mechanical stress applied to the stress-optic material.
Abstract: The invention concerns an unsaturated polyester resin composition which contains a multifunctional polyacrylate aliphatic polyurethane oligomer or prepolymer of low molecular weight, a method of preparing such oligomers, and cured polymers and cured laminate-type products employing such oligomers.
Abstract: An adjustable, seat-planar hydroplane apparatus of an inflatable, pneumatic inner tube with a central opening and a flexible cover encasing the tube and forming a smooth hydroplane bottom surface over the opening with an adjustable flexible strip detachably secured at the one, the other, or both ends, or in an intermediate overlap section which adjustably forms a top, taut plane surface, a draped seat in the opening, or may be removed and installed as desired.
Abstract: A pull-on wakeboard binding which includes a heel receptacle with an outer rear surface, and a pull-on strap which is secured longitudinally and centrally to the rear exterior surface of the heel receptacle. The pull-on strap includes an upper open loop to be grasped by a user to assist in the pulling on of the binding and a secured first and second strap section to form an open load-transfer intermediate loop between the sections.
Abstract: A test device, system and method, the device composed of an elongated, toothbrush-shaped, transparent, plastic housing and a lateral-flow test strip for the detection of an analyte, such as a beta-lactam in milk, in the housing, the housing having an expansion cavity to receive expanded, liquid-contacted, absorbing material in the test strip, and to control lateral flow rate and times in the test strip.

Abstract: A modified bitumen sheet material and method for a protective moisture barrier, particularly for masonry surfaces. The sheet material has a bitumen layer modified by the addition of a minor amount of a long-chain polybutadiene-isocyanate urethane polymer and optionally, a modifying amount of a hydrocarbon oil to provide a stable, non-flow and selected tackified surface properties to the bitumen layer. The sheet material includes a releasable casting paper film on one surface of the bitumen layer, to be removed prior to use, and a cross-linked polyethylene film bonded to the other outer surface of the bitumen layer as a handling or moisture barrier sheet. The sheet material is prepared by casting the hot, melted bitumen as a layer onto a casting paper sheet and applying the outer film to the exposed bitumen surface to bond to the top surface.

Abstract: A package, system and method for the protective covering and immobilization of an article for packaging. The package comprises a base with tension-biased flaps to support the article within the base and side panels from the base to extend above the packaged article. The package includes end-secured, overlapped film layers with an overlap area and an overlap slot to permit the article to be inserted in or removed from the suspension position in the base.
Abstract: An oil-water separator system and method to separate contaminated oil and water into clean water and free coalesced oil for collection and removal. The system includes a process tank for the oil and water, a pump to pump the oil and water through first and second stage oil-coalescing filters and through a full depth, fibrous filter under back pressure to provide filtered clean water of selected purity; typically, less than 20 ppm. The coalesced and filtered oil-water is returned and recycled to the process tank wherein a free coalescing oil layer forms on the surface, which free coalesced oil is removed by a belt skimmer for collection and removal.

Abstract: The invention concerns a test apparatus for the testing of a test sample on or in a material, such as body fluids or food, particularly adapted to a bioluminescent test, such as for the detection of ATP or phosphatase or other materials. The test apparatus includes a transparent tube having at one end a sample unit and at the other end a detachable or nondetachable test unit which are connected, and which includes a cover with a probe containing a swab at one end. The test apparatus includes probe positioning marks on the exterior of the sample unit, so that the probe may be moved between selected test positions, and as it moves from a non-use to a use position, various test reagents which are sealed within the test unit are punctured by the probe, and the test sample and the test reagents are reacted together in the test unit.
