Abstract: A system for inserting O-rings into axially spaced annular grooves in a cylindrical cavity includes a cylinder for insertion to a limited extent into the cavity from one end, with a rod extending from the cylinder through the cavity; a sleeve for insertion to a limited extent into the cavity from the other end; spacer rings for selective mounting on the cylinder and the sleeve to selectively position the cylinder and sleeve relative to the cavity, whereby to cover all but one of the annular grooves within the cavity. A tube fits into the sleeve and over the rod to push an O-ring along the rod and into the one annular groove left exposed by the cylinder and sleeve.

Abstract: A stove-hood fire extinguisher system includes a reservoir for fire extinguishing agent, and a distributor arm which in turn includes a fluid tube and an actuator tube. An extinguisher valve connects the reservoir to the fluid tube, and includes a valve stem extending into the actuator tube. A fuse mechanism on the distributor arm includes a fuse element, a movable trigger extending from the fuse element into the actuator tube, and a tightener to press the fuse element against the trigger. An actuator mechanism in the actuator tube includes an actuator rod with a detent block on one end for engagement with the trigger and a ramp on the other end for engagement with the valve stem, and a compression spring urging the ramp toward the valve stem. The trigger extending into the detent groove holds the actuator rod in a retracted position. Rupture of the fuse element releases the trigger from the detent groove, and the spring drives the actuator rod and ramp against the valve stem to open the extinguisher valve.

Abstract: A system for delivering electrostatic toner to an image receiving member includes a traveling electrostatic wave toner conveyor with a delivery segment adjacent to the image receiving member. The delivery segment includes parallel traveling wave conveyor electrodes and nudging electrodes. The conveyor electrodes are connected to a source of DC-biased multiphase electric power to establish a traveling electrostatic wave in the delivery segment to move toner in a synchronous surfing mode. The nudging electrodes are connected to a source of repulsive DC voltage of the same polarity as the toner to slow and deflect toner toward the image receiving member. The delivery segment further includes overlaid barrier electrodes to maintain uniform delivery of toner to all apertures in an electronically addressable printhead.

Abstract: An automotive wheel lift is adapted to carry a motorcycle by wheel pads removably mounted on the wheel lift crossbar. Each wheel pad includes an inverted crossbar channel for placement over the crossbar, an upright wheel channel parallel with the crossbar channel, and a lock bar for removable placement under the crossbar to alternatively lock the wheel pad to the crossbar or to release it from the crossbar. Tie down straps from the ends of the lock bars help secure a motorcycle in standing position.

Abstract: A paint tray includes a bottom, front wall, back wall, sidewalls, and a mounting bracket connected to the side walls. The mounting bracket has parallel legs, each leg including a foot at one end and a hook at the other end. The feet extend outward of the legs and are pivoted at the tops of opposite sidewalls of the tray for movement of the bracket from a storage position within the tray to an operating position behind the tray. A crossbar connects the hook ends of the legs. The hooks engage the top step of a step ladder, with the legs overlying the top step and the tray hanging from the top step in a substantially vertical attitude.

Abstract: A truck-mounted work station includes a frame forming an open rack for tools and supplies, and pivot arms extending from the frame to support a work table or the like. The work table is movable with the pivot arms between an elevated storage position within the width limit of the truck, and a lowered working position outside and alongside the truck. A torsion spring facilitates raising and lowering the work table. Spring torsion is adjustable to suit its load. Up and down travel of the pivot arms is limited by stops. The work table is secured in its elevated position for safe travel.

Abstract: A string mounted rear bow sight includes a body with a bowstring hole, and a bifurcated rod extending forward from the body to straddle the bowstring and enclose it within the bowstring hole. A fluoresent material is mounted on the body to absorb ultraviolet light and emit a brilliant fluorescent light. An elastic sight orienting tube is connected to the bow and to the bifurcated rod to orient the rear sight toward a front sight on the bow, and to pull the rear sight upward on the bowstring against a preestablished fixed point thereon when the bowstring is drawn.

Abstract: A folding saw includes a double edge saw blade first and second frame members pivotally connected to one end of the blade, and first and second handles pivotally joined to the first and second frame members respectively. Frame members and handles are movable between a closed configuration covering the edges of the blade, and an open configuration in which they together form the saw handle. The first and second handles lock together in both configurations. One handle member includes a retractable knife blade.

Abstract: A snow pusher includes a blade with horizontal and vertical reinforcing channels, a reversible and removable rubber edge fastened to the blade and extending below its bottom edge, and a side plate extending forward from each end of the blade. Each side plate includes a removable wear shoe with inclined ramps for sliding contact on the ground surface. Upper and lower rows of posts extend rearward from the blade to form a slot for insertion of a front end loader bucket. Connection is secured by a releasable chain.

Abstract: A tool holder includes a body with a central internal threaded section, and a coolant coupling device within the tool holder. The coolant coupling device includes a threaded body section to engage the internal threads of the tool holder, a smaller diameter nose section, and a coolant passage through the device to align with a coolant passage in a cutting tool. A sealing ring around the end of the coolant passage forms a seal when the coolant coupling device abuts against a tool shank. The body section includes a wrench slot by which to turn the device for axial movement within the tool holder.

Abstract: A floor mat has an underside with a coarse matte finish and an array of truncated concave conoidal gripping protuberances extending downward from it for improved carpet penetration and improved resistance to movement on carpet.

Abstract: Power cable includes, along with standard conductor wires encased in insulation, a heat responsive cable alongside the conductor wires. The heat responsive cable includes helically wound wires each coated with heat sensitive dielectric, The two wound wires at one end are oppositely connected to an alarm and to a main power switch, forming a normally open safety circuit. The dielectric on the heat responsive cable is subject to vaporization in response to a fault in the power cable, whereby the wound wires make electrical contact to close the safety circuit, activate the alarm, and open the main power switch.

Abstract: A machine includes a frame, an engine with a rope operated rewind starter, a handle connected to the frame, and the following improvement: a differential pulley with a driver pulley wheel and a driven pulley wheel rotatable on the handle with the engine starter rope connected to the driven pulley wheel; a foot operated starter lever for pivotal up and down movement; and a driver rope connected to the starter lever and to the driver pulley wheel. Downward pivotal movement of the starter lever pulls the driver rope and, through the differential pulley, the starter rope to start the engine.

Abstract: A pet scratching post includes a base, an upstanding rod, and an upstanding removable brush with a hub and radial bristles mounted on the rod. The hub has a stepped cylindrical configuration with an axial bore in the larger lower section for placement of the hub on the rod. The brush is bell shaped, with a generally toroidal lower section and a hemispherical top. The base is a large enough platform that a pet in contact with the brush also stands upon the base, keeping the post upright.

Abstract: A laser diode array includes a dielectric block with a "direct bonded" conductor layer. The conductor layer is segmented by diode bar spaces cut through it, and a laser diode bar is positioned in each space. Current through the conductor layer energizes the laser diode bars. In one form, the laser diode array and the conductor layer form a conductor ring surrounding a laser medium which is energized by the laser diode bars. In another form, a coolant flow tube within the conductor ring forms an annular coolant channel around the enclosed laser medium. In still another form, the conductor ring is itself surrounded by coolant channels.

Abstract: A roof drainage system includes an eve trough with end walls keyed for placement on the bottom edge of a fascia, a building corner post forming a drain spout within it, and a soffit channel connecting the eve trough to the drain spout. An alternative eve trough is formed in a horizontal siding member having front and back walls and an inner bottom together forming a water channel at an incline from horizontal.

Abstract: A hairdresser's comb includes, in its handle portion, an elongated aperture converging from a wide end to a narrow end. One sidewall of the aperture includes a lengthwise blade. The opposite sidewall has a serrated surface. A bottle tip inserted into the wide end of the aperture is pushed or rolled against the blade to sever the tip.
