Abstract: Dental cream in contact with a polyolefin resin surface of a package such as a laminate tube, a mechanical dispenser or a flexible sachet. The dental cream contains a dentally acceptable water-insoluble alkaline earth metal salt, a liquid vehicle and an alkali metal carboxymethyl cellulose gelling agent. The liquid vehicle contains water, glycerine and sorbitol and, as an additive to prevent syneresis due to contact between the dental cream and polyolefin resin, a stabilizer in the form of parahydroxybenzoate ester.
Abstract: A single unit dose chewable oral product stabilized against syneresis comprising an alginate gelling agent, cross-linked with a calcium ion, flavor and a liquid vehicle containing water, humectant and a vegetable oil additive to reduce syneresis.
Abstract: The perfluoroalkyl surfactant (PAS) of the general formula C.sub.x F.sub.2x+1 (CH.sub.2).sub.n S(CH.sub.2).sub.n,CO.sub.2 M wherein x is an integer of 3-8, each of n and n' is an interger of 2-4 and may be the same or different and M is hydrogen, an alkali metal or ammonium, provides an oral composition, such as a dentifrice or a mouthwash with effect in prevent plaque formation. A preferred PAS is Zonyl FSA, C.sub.3-8 F.sub.7-17 (CH.sub.2).sub.2 S(CH.sub.2).sub.2 COOLi.
Abstract: Plaque is inhibited and oral hygiene promoted including reduction in caries formation by dispersing emulsan in water and contacting the aqueous dispersion with dental surfaces. Emulsan may be dispersed in dental preparation toothpaste or mouthwash.
Abstract: Dental cream in contact with a polyolefin resin surface of a package such as a laminate tube, a mechanical dispenser or a flexible sachet. The dental cream contains a dentally acceptable water-insoluble alkaline earth metal salt, a liquid vehicle and a gelling agent. The liquid vehicle contains water, glycerine and sorbitol and, as an additive to prevent syneresis due to contact between the dental cream and the polyolefin resin, propylene glycol which acts also as a preservative against bacterial contamination of the product.
Abstract: Dental cream in contact with a polyolefin resin surface of a package such as a laminate tube, a mechanical dispenser or a flexible sachet. The dental cream contains as at least the major portion of which is a dentally acceptable water-insoluble polishing material alpha-alumina trihydrate, a liquid vehicle and a gelling agent and an agent to reduce pH containing phosphate ion. The liquid vehicle contains water, glycerine and sorbitol and, as an additive to prevent syneresis due to contact between the dental cream and the polyolefin resin, polyethylene glycol of average molecular weight or about 200-1000.
Abstract: Dental cream stabilized for contact with a polyolefin resin surface of a package such as a laminate tube, a mechanical dispenser or a flexible sachet. The dental cream contains as at least the major dentally acceptable water-insoluble polishing material alpha-alumina trihydrate, a liquid vehicle and a gelling agent and an agent to reduce pH containing phosphate ion. The liquid vehicle contains water, glycerine and sorbitol and a vegetable oil as in additive to reduce syneresis due to contact between the dental cream and the polyolefin resin.

Abstract: An oral composition such as a mouthwash, toothpaste, gel, toothpowder, tablet, lozenge, and the like comprising a synergistic combination of tridecanol-1 and hexetidine which inhibits the formation of dental plaque.
Abstract: Functional agglomerated speckles, for incorporation in dentifrices, include agglomerates of a water insoluble powdered functional material and water insoluble, ethanol soluble ethyl cellulose. Such speckles satisfactorily maintain their integrity and identity during processing of the dentifrice after addition of the speckles to the main dentifrice body but on storage, after packaging of the dentifrice in dispensing tubes, soften sufficiently so as to become essentially impalpable to one utilizing the dentifrice in brushing his teeth. Despite such softening the speckles continue to maintain their identity as speckles in the dentifrice. The speckles are especially useful in translucent or transparent gel dentifrices which contain components, such as flavoring and surface active agents, which may controllably soften the speckles on storage.
Abstract: Gel dentifrice of desirable consistency having a low water content and a hydrous silica gel polishing agent and an antinucleating agent containing at least one phosphonic group. Optimum consistency is attained by incorporating the antinucleating agent into a gel phase containing humectant and gelling agent prior to incorporation of the polishing agent therein.
Abstract: Anhydrous dentifrice having desirable rheological, sensory and hygienic characteristics containing a polysaccharide gum and glycerine humectant. Ingredients at least partially incompatible when water is present, such as zeolite or molecular sieve, may be included. The polysaccharide is clarified or non-clarified deacetylated heteropolysaccharide S-60.
