Abstract: A window is positioned within a window casing and means are provided for rotatably connecting the window to the casing. A security apparatus includes a pair of rod holding brackets mounted on the casing on opposite sides of the window on an axis spaced from and substantially parallel to the rotational axis, each of the brackets having notch-like means for receiving and holding the end of a rod. An elongated rod is supported by the brackets and a permanent magnet is provided at one end of the rod to co-act with a magnetically operable switch attached to one of the brackets, the switch being connected to an alarm. When the window is closed the rod is positioned and held by the brackets and the permanent magnet causes the switch to have a first condition. The rod prevents the window from being moved from the closed position to the open position. If the rod is removed from the brackets, then the movement of the magnet away from the switch causes a change in condition of the switch to actuate the alarm.
Abstract: A non-contact vane-type fluid-displacement machine includes a stator housing having an annular interior surface defining an interior bore and a rotor supported in an eccentric position in the interior bore of the stator housing relative to the annular interior surface thereof to undergo rotation relative to the stator housing about a central rotational axis. The rotor has at least one slot radially defined therein relative to the rotational axis. The machine also has at least one vane disposed in radial slot of the rotor. Improved features of the machine relate to an arrangement of multiple discharge valves in the stator housing of the machine.

Abstract: A box for shipping unused syringes after syringe manufacture to the point of syringe usage (whereat all unused syringes are removed from said box), said box then being usable for the safe storage of used syringes. The box has an open-topped container having a bottom and a plurality of sides, a cover for closing off said container during said shipment and being selectably movable with respect to said container so as to permit the bulk removal of all unused syringes, therein, means for reclosing said container including said cover and means locking said cover means to said container.
Abstract: A plant gathering apparatus for the removal of aquatic plant growth on lake bottoms includes a mobile frame adapted for towing across a lake bottom, a raking mechanism, a towing assembly, an actuating mechanism and a cleaning mechanism. The raking mechanism mounts to the rear end of the frame to undergo pivotal movement between a raised inoperative position and a lowered position in which the raking mechanism is adapted to engage and gather aquatic plant growth as the mobile frame is towed across the lake bottom. The towing assembly mounts to the front end of the mobile frame for use in towing the mobile frame and is rotatable relative to the mobile. The actuating mechanism mounts to the mobile frame for moving the raking mechanism between the lowered and raised positions in response to rotation of the towing assembly.
Abstract: A vibration isolator for a torpedo transducer, comprising a unitary metallic member having an axis, a central aperture extending axially to receive the transducer, a first plurality of pairs of transverse slots extending into the member in opposite directions to terminate short of the center of the member, and a second plurality of pairs of transverse slots extending into the member in opposite directions orthogonal to the first named directions, to terminate short of the center of the member, the pairs being spaced axially and alternately along the member.

Abstract: An outboard guard assembly includes a support tube, barrier panel attached to the support tube, and reinforcing brace attached to the barrier panel. The outboard guard assembly is mounted on each of a pair of outboard crop divider structures of an existing multi-row crop gathering header used to harvest crops planted in rows, such as corn. When installed on the outboard crop divider structures at either end of the multi-row corn header, the outboard guard assembly improves the effectiveness of the multi-row crop gathering header and reduces yield loss caused by variation in row spacing and bent and tangled corn stalks.
