  • Patent number: 6128991
Abstract: A punch and die device for working such as punching of a pipe material is disclosed, of which internal die means can easily be inserted into a pipe material even if an open end of the pipe material to be worked has burrs inward extending therefrom, and in which it is easily detected whether the internal die means is pushed toward a lateral side or lateral sides of the pipe material and thereby firmly held. The punch and die device for working a pipe material comprises: external punch means located outside a pipe material P, and internal die means K inserted in the pipe material for cooperation with a punch 30 of the external punch means to work the pipe material P; the internal die means K being divided into two parts in a direction orthogonal to that of reciprocating motion of the punch 30 of the external punch means, one 1 of the parts having working function and the other 2 having no working function, the non-working part 2 being forward and backward movable in the opening direction, i. e.

  • Patent number: 6110799
Abstract: A trench process for establishing a contact for a semiconductor device with trenches such as the trench and planar MOSFETs (UMOS), trench and planar IGBTs and trench MCTs which reduces the number of masks and eliminates the need for lateral diffusion into the trench channel region. Improved control of the parasitic transistor in the trench MOSFET is also achieved. The cell size/pitch is reduced relative to conventional processes which require source block and P+ masks.

  • Patent number: 6110763
Abstract: A method of fabricating a MOS controlled thyristor (MCT) semiconductor power device which reduces process time, reduces cell size, and increases the density of turn-off channels. The method uses a single, dopant-opaque mask to form MCT structure above the bottom N and P layers, including the upper portions of PNP and NPN transistors which form the MCT and On-FETs and Off-FETs which operate the MCT. The single mask may also be used to fabricate floating field rings for the device. The method may also be used on both sides of the device to provide a Fast Turn Off (FTO) device with both On- and Off-FETs on one side and at least an Off-FET on the other side.

  • Patent number: 6109688
Abstract: Upholstery for a seat, rest or couch. The upholstery includes internal channels through which draining air may flow. Valve means that open under load or compression control air flow through the channels. The flow of draining air is increased automatically or given a desired flow distribution by the surface area pressure controlled by a seated person. The cross sections of the valve means and the channels may be designed so that even a very small pressure difference and correspondingly little energy expenditure will provide a satisfactory air flow rate.

  • Patent number: 6110154
Abstract: A valve and and a valved trocar jacket tube by which there is no need of an adapter, types of a clamp or the like to be used are not limited, and leakage of an inert gas from an abdominal cavity can be prevented. In the valve and the valved trocar jacket tube, when a pair of rings are relatively rotated at a predetermined angle in the opposite directions, a cylindrical section in a rubber-like member is opened. In case of employing a clamp or the like, it is inserted into the abdominal cavity through the opened cylindrical section. Since the rubber-like member has elasticity, the cylindrical section is close together with the clamp or the like inserted.

  • Patent number: 6108352
Abstract: A circuit and method for synchronizing multiple transmitting devices in a multiplexed communication system in which transmitting nodes generate bit transitions on the multiplexed bus based on the time elapsed since the last received bit transition, and in which the synchronization is dependent only on the last received bit transition and on no other synchronization signal. The circuit and method may be used to prevent inadvertent bit transition transmission within a predetermined period of time of receipt of a bit transition.

  • Patent number: 6107872
Abstract: The power supply voltage is adaptively controlled to increase the efficiency and minimize multi-tone intermodulation distortion of a power amplifier either as a function of amplifier overdrive and/or as a function of the frequency of the input waveform. If the input signal is single-tone, the supply voltage is adaptively changed to increase the efficiency of the amplifier as a function of the amount of amplifier overdrive and/or the frequency of the input waveform. If the input signal is multi-tone, the supply voltage is increased to its maximum to minimize intermodulation distortion.

  • Patent number: 6102340
Abstract: This invention relates to a system and method of detecting a broken rail in a railway system. The track sensing circuitry of the present invention applies a voltage source at each end of a block of rails and senses the current flowing through the circuitry. The present invention will detect broken rails continuously in a block, even with a train present (except for a break directly beneath the train). Since the rail is continuously checked, the only restriction imposed on train spacing by this track circuit configuration is that only one train can be present in a block at a time.

  • Patent number: 6104180
Abstract: Transformers of electric voltage meters based on mechanical waves. The invention is based on the generation of elastic waves in transformers which are composed of a transmitter, a receiver, a dielectric body and a mechanical connection, whereby the transmitter converts the variations in tension in elastic waves, which propagate through the dielectric body to the receiver by means of a connection device, and the receiver converts the mechanical waves in electric signals which are then amplified by means of an electronic unit in order to generate elastic waves from the electric fields from which electric waves are produced; piezoelectric and electrostrictive materials are utilized to build four different types of transformers depending on the structure: monolithic (one-piece), self-connecting, directly-connecting and externally-connecting transformers.
