Abstract: A code division multiple access transmitter and receiver that makes it possible to reduce its size by designating a spreading code and a carrier frequency in a baseband. It includes a primary modulator for performing primary modulation by transmission information, thereby producing a primary modulated I signal and a primary modulated Q signal, a spreading code generator for generating a spreading code with a frequency higher than a rate of the transmission information, a secondary modulator for spread-modulating the primary modulated I signal and Q signal by using the spreading code, thereby outputting spread I-channel data and spread Q-channel data, a frequency offset circuit for offsetting the center frequency of the spread I-channel data and Q-channel data by a designated offset frequency, thereby outputting frequency offset data, and a transmitting circuit for converting the frequency offset data into a transmitted signal.
Abstract: On the surface of a protecting layer mounted on a solid state imaging devices substrate, transparent gap filler layers and a transparent flattening layer are formed to flatten a surface of overlying protecting layer. On a surface of the transparent flattening layer, color filters of red, blue and yellow are formed. The color filters are made of synthetic photosensitive material. By using the synthetic photosensitive material, the color filters are formed with good shape and precision. All of the color filter show good photo spectrography and uniform characteristics. For the reasons, excellent characteristics of the solid state imaging device are provided which are free form image inferiority caused by flicker, shading, dust and so forth.
Abstract: Described is a weather-resistant, plasticizer-free, deep-drawable film based on a semicrystalline ethylene/propylene/diene terpolymer and a homo- and/or copolymer of an alkene plus stabilizers and optional fillers, lubricants, pigments, and other ordinary additives. This film is characterized by the fact that the mixture of the semicrystalline ethylene/propylene/diene terpolymer and the homo- and/or copolymer of the alkene contains:70-30 wt % semicrystalline ethylene/propylene/diene terpolymer (A) with approximately 56-76 wt % ethylene, approximately 15-30 wt % propylene, and approximately 9-14 wt % third component,while the terpolymer (A) has a melt-flow index MFI (230/2, 16) of approximately 5-15.0 g/10 min,and 70-30 wt % homo- and/or copolymer (B) of ethylene and/or propylene,while the homo- and/or copolymer has a melt-flow index MFI (230/2, 16) greater than 2.5 g/10 min. This film is especially suited for the interior covering and fittings of motor vehicles.
Abstract: A speech freeze-out method in a communication system for transmitting speech information, which is sent from public telephone terminals (1) to a control center (5) through voice channels, from the control center (5) to a base station (8) through time division multiplexing radio frequency channels (6), and from the base station (8) to mobile stations (17) through transponders (13). The freeze-out processing is carried out when the control center (5) feeds the speech information to the time division multiplexing radio frequency channels (6) so that the number of transmission channels from the base station (8) to the transponders (13) is limited within an upper limit value.
Abstract: An automatic gain control apparatus of a spread spectrum signal receiver which can quickly follow distance variations, median variations, and instantaneous variations due to Rayleigh fading. An output of a variable gain amplifier 22 is quadrature-detected, the detected outputs are A/D converted, the digital output thereof are supplied to a despreading processor 34 through a digital level corrector 33, and the despreading output undergoes the instantaneous envelope detection by an instantaneous envelope detector 37. The envelope-detected signal is supplied to a symbol timing generator 38 which extracts data symbol timing component using a peak signal as a trigger, and a time window through which a desired signal enters is calculated from the symbol timing. Within the time window, the output of the instantaneous envelope detector 37 undergoes time integration by a level detector 43, and its output shifts the level of the digital level corrector 33, thereby making the output constant.
Abstract: A mobile communication fixed station 101 transmits significant data to a mobile station 103 (104) after holding the significant data for a predetermined time, and no significant data are transmitted to the mobile station during that time. When there are no significant data which are being held, the fixed station 101 transmits remaining time data indicative of the predetermined time to the mobile station, and no significant data are transmitted to the mobile station. When significant data is being held, time data indicative of the remaining time until the start of transmission of the significant data is transmitted to the mobile station in each slot from the time significant data occurs until the time the significant data is transmitted. The fixed station 103 , which has received the remaining time data stops receiving for a time interval corresponding to the remaining time.
Abstract: Twin-screw pump, wherein the four conical screws are vertically arranged and are fed with biphase fluid at the two ends, independently of each other, by means of a stream divider and wherein the two screw shafts each have a central axial drilling which connects the delivery chamber to a series of radial channels which end up on the tip of the single teeth of the screws. Abstract: An apparatus of measuring an electric signal comprises a laser device, optical elements, an electrooptic crystal, a photoelectric converter, and an electric circuit. The electrooptic crystal is selected from the materials in the type of having properties of changing its refractive index in the direction of its optic major axes and the direction of these axes by a function of an applied electric field. In the apparatus, the electrooptic crystal is placed in the electric field applied by an electric circuit under measurement. A laser beam emitted from the laser device is incident on the electrooptic crystal. A reflected light passed through the crystal is resolved into rays in two polarized direction. Each ray is subjected to a photoelectric conversion by passing through the photoelectric converter and exerted as an electric output. A differential signal of the electric output is defined as a measurement signal.
Abstract: Process for vacuum-concentrating urea solutions in which the final step of evaporation of the urea solution under vacuum is carried out within the injection of overheated water vapor in the overhead portion of the concentrator, in order to counteract the formation and deposition of high-melting, fouling compounds derived from urea.
Abstract: A CDMA communications method capable of multiplex transmission of data over a wide range from a low rate to high rate, such as image data, without a considerable increase in a circuit scale. A fundamental transmission rate is determined, for example, at 32 kbps, a rate higher than 8 kbps conventionally used. The data whose transmission rate is equal to the fundamental transmission rate is transmitted in frames including no vacant portion. Data whose transmission rate is lower than the fundamental transmission rate (16 kbps, for example) are transmitted in frames including vacant portions. The vacant portions are not transmitted. This makes it possible to receive data through other channels during a time period associated with the vacant portions. Data of a higher transmission rate, 128 kbps, for example, can be multiplexed and transmitted through four channels using different spreading codes.
Abstract: A description follows of an additive for lubricating oils which is a viscosity-index improver, with dispersing properties and stable towards fluoroelastomers, having a greater shear stability and improved rheological behaviour at low temperature. The above additive is prepared by the polymerization of a composition of particular poly(meth)acrylates.
Abstract: A CDMA receiver capable of effective orthogonalization even when the number of received signal vectors to be orthogonalized is very large. Received signals which have been spread by spreading codes are despread by despreading filters. Products of received signal levels and cross-correlations between the spreading codes are compared in a preliminary selector of the cross-correlations, and Ns products are selected in order of magnitude, where Ns is a predetermined integer. Ns received signals associated with the selected products have priority to undergo orthogonalization. The number of signals to be orthogonalized by decorrelators can be effectively decreased, and noise enhancement effect can be reduced on the reverse channels. The orthogonalized received signals are recovered through channel estimators, phase compensators, RAKE combiners and decision blocks.

Abstract: A communication apparatus is disclosed which is capable of measuring levels of carrier signals used in adjacent zones during telecommunication with a small circuit scale, and capable of simultaneously transmitting/receiving to FDMA-system signals through a plurality of communication channels. All of transmission signals received through the communication channels under use are wholly converted into an intermediate signal by a mixer. The intermediate signal is quadrature-detected and then A/D-converted into digital I/Q-channel signals by A/D-converters. Thereafter, the digital I/Q-channel signals are frequency-converted by frequency converting circuits in such a manner that center frequencies of these I/Q-channel signals become zero, two sets of I/Q-channel signals may be demodulated by two sets of demodulating circuits. Otherwise, one of these I/Q-channel signals is demodulated by a single demodulating circuit, and the other is level-detected by a level detecting circuit.

Abstract: An improved device for shifting the seats of a top entry ball valve, consisting of two identical portions, one for each valve seat, which are permanently interposed between the valve body and the relative seats; each portion comprises a stop ring made rigid with the valve body by first locking means, and a seat shifting second ring cooperating with a valve seat and movable axially by operating means into a withdrawn position to enable said valving element to be extracted or into an active position in which it is locked in position by second locking means. Preferred embodiments of said means are also described.
Abstract: A fiber reinforced, thermoplastic foam is produced by dispersing fibers of controlled dimensions and blowing agent in molten thermoplastic and extruding the mixture with high back pressures. As the blowing agent expands, the fibers become randomly oriented and a fine cellular structure is formed in the plastic which freezes the fibers in a random spatial orientation. The resulting reinforced foam may be used as formed or compacted to collapse the foam and then shaped.
