  • Patent number: 8329050
Abstract: A substrate processing method for processing a substrate, on which a processing target layer, an intermediate layer, and a mask layer having an opening to expose a part of the intermediate layer are stacked in this order, includes a shrink etching step. In the shrink etching step, an opening width of the opening of the mask layer is reduced by depositing deposits on a sidewall surface thereof by a plasma generated from a gaseous mixture of depositive gas expressed by a general formula CxHyFz (x, y and z being positive integers) and SF6 gas. Also, there is formed in the intermediate layer an opening having an opening width corresponding to the reduced opening width of the opening of the mask layer by etching the intermediate layer.

  • Patent number: 8328981
Abstract: A plasma etching apparatus includes a vacuum processing chamber; a lower electrode, i.e., a mounting table for mounting the substrate, provided in the vacuum processing chamber; an upper electrode provided to face the lower electrode; a gas supply unit for supplying a processing gas to the vacuum processing chamber; a high frequency power supply unit for supplying a high frequency power to the lower electrode; and a focus ring provided on the lower electrode to surround a periphery of the substrate. In a method for performing a plasma etching on a substrate by using the plasma etching apparatus, a plasma is generated in the vacuum processing chamber to perform the plasma etching on the substrate by using the plasma after the focus ring is heated by supplying a high frequency power from the high frequency power supply unit to the lower electrode under a condition that no plasma is generated.

  • Patent number: 8328997
Abstract: This invention relates to the design of a process by intermittent dielectric heating combined with a recycling system. This process consists in subjecting reagents to electromagnetic waves selected in the frequencies ranging between 300 GHz and 3 MHz intermittently using a recycling system. This process enables the treatment of oils that are hardly absorbent as well as great investment savings. This process enables operation on different scales, whether in laboratories, on a semi-industrial or industrial scale, without forfeiting the advantages of continuous dielectric heating.

  • Patent number: 8323715
Abstract: The complementary parts of food products destined to be coupled together are located on the frontal surfaces of half-moulds travelling on two different loop conveyor lines. The first conveyor line extends, at least partially, above the second, so to be included within the surface area occupied by the second line itself. Spatial occupation is further reduced since, downstream to the coupling station, the coupled half-moulds travel with the same spacing step that they had before coupling, with additional advantages in terms of energy absorption and advancing velocity in a successive thermal conditioning station, such as a refrigerating tunnel. One of the half-moulds can be removed upstream to the thermal conditioning station, resulting in an additional reduction in energy absorption since needless subjecting of the half-mould to the thermal cycle to which the products are subjected is avoided.

  • Patent number: 8324353
Abstract: The present invention relates to chimeric transmembrane immunoreceptors, named “zetakines,” comprised of an extracellular domain comprising a soluble receptor ligand linked to a support region capable of tethering the extracellular domain to a cell surface, a transmembrane region and an intracellular signalling domain. Zetakines, when expressed on the surface of T lymphocytes, direct T cell activity to those specific cells expressing a receptor for which the soluble receptor ligand is specific. Zetakine chimeric immunoreceptors represent a novel extension of antibody-based immunoreceptors for redirecting the antigen specificity of T cells, with application to treatment of a variety of cancers, particularly via the autocrin/paracrine cytokine systems utilized by human maligancy.

  • Patent number: 8323346
Abstract: The invention reduces wear in total joint articulations by modifications of the shape of either component of the kinematic pair, so as to result in an annular surface contact between the two components. Fluid trapped between the two components within the inner contour of the annular contact area is pressurized under load due to elastic deformation of the components and exuded out through inter-articular gap over the surface of contact, aiding in lubrication and reducing the wear. Reduced to practice for a total hip joint with UHMWPE-metal pair, the wear rate tested in a hip joint simulator up to five million cycles was reduced by factor seven to fifteen compared to conventionally shaped components.

  • Patent number: 8316522
Abstract: A slider having an outer guide that closes a zipper by sliding movement of the slider and an inner guide that opens the zipper by the sliding movement and is formed revolvable on the outer guide. A method for supplying sliders provides sliders that are not entangled with each other and are not clogged when supplied with the inner guide revolved to the outside. The slider has a groove formed by the inner guide protruding upwards from the upper surface of a slider body. A flat guide plate disposed between a slider supplying machine and a slider assembling machine engages with the groove so that the upper surface directs in a vertical direction and, at the same time, side surfaces of adjacent sliders support the slider facing each other in a hanging down condition, and align and guide them in a line in a fixed direction.
