  • Patent number: 4703661
Abstract: A differential pressure flow sensor to measure the differential pressure in fluid flow in a pipe including an elongated pressure tube designed as an elongated hollow tube which is provided at its leading edge with at least one dynamic-pressure aperture and a sensor for the static pressure with at least one sensor aperture formed in the rear edge thereof. The sensor aperture being located in the wake of a body, either a separate body or a part of the hollow elongated tube, with front surfaces swept back from a forward tip and which are provided with detachment edges for the lateral detachment of the incident fluid flow without there being subsequent reattachment. In order to obtain the best test results from this differential pressure flow sensor, arcuate recesses are formed in the front surfaces at a distance from the outer limits for forming detachment edges for deflecting fluid from the planes of the front surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4688985
Abstract: A rotary mechanism for robot arms and the like includes a base and a shaft rotatably connected to the base and extending therefrom. A first sprocket is carried by the shaft and a second sprocket is rotatably connected to the base in alignment with the first sprocket. A chain is operatively carried by and extends between the first and second sprockets so that movement of the chain causes cooperative rotation of the sprockets and thereby of the shaft. A cylinder and piston assembly has a first end connected to the base and a second longitudinally movable end engaged with the chain intermediate the first and second sprockets so that longitudinal movement of the second end causes associated movement of the chain and thereby rotation of the shaft. A manipulator is carried by the shaft and is pivotally disposed at one end thereof. A table is carried by the shaft and is disposed intermediate the one end and the first sprocket.

  • Patent number: 4683825
Abstract: An apparatus for accurately positioning the support member which is carried by a movable member movable along a trackway or the like comprising a fixed cam having an arcuate surface, at least one cam follower engagable with said cam and means for sensing the position of the cam follower relative to the cam so that when the cam follower has reached a predetermined position along the cam the support member is accurately positioned. A sensing means is disclosed including a cam follower shaft attached to the cam follower. An analog shaft angle resolver is rotatably connected to the cam follower shaft so as to measure the angular rotation of the cam follower shaft and produce a voltage corresponding to the angular rotational position of the cam follower shaft. The analog voltage signal is then converted into a digital signal and fed into a digital display which displays a number proportional to the distance the support member is from a predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 4676878
Abstract: An apparatus and method for the electronic decomposition of water into its component free radical parts and free electrons. In a cell containing an aqueous fluid, an electromotive force is applied to a positive charge storage core, insulated with semi-conductive material, and a conducting cathodic connector having a limited electrolysis bridge therebetween thereby inducing the formation of an aqueous condenser, the anodic section of which consists of the positive charge storage core insulated with the semi-conductive material. The formed aqueous condenser is subjected to overpotentials at which the dielectric breakdown of water occurs. The free radicals produced by such dielectric decomposition serve to treat most dissolved, suspended or precipitous substances in solution by oxidation/reduction reactions.
