    Abstract: Container filling apparatus and method are disclosed in a form for loading green beans into containers, such as hampers, boxes, crates and the like. A conveyor deposits the beans onto a turntable having a continuous series of ports along its peripheral portion for passage of the beans into the containers below the ports. Beans which do not drop through the ports remain on the turntable and are carried to a first rotary unit which propels the beans in a direction opposite the rotational direction of the turntable and at least partially into the ports to substantially fill the containers. The rotary units are above the path of the ports and remove excess beans from atop the ports. A compactor for the beans in the containers is provided along the path of the ports immediately downstream of the rotary unit, to eliminate voids between the beans and the beans on the turntable are carried to a second rotary unit which again propels the beans away from itself for ultimate removal through the ports.

    Abstract: A dispenser system is disclosed comprising a liquid dispenser pump, an electronic circuit for controlling the dispenser system, and a dispenser for dispensing a flowing liquid through a metering orifice. The dispenser system enables mixing and dispensing of a first and a second liquid in accordance with a given volumetric relationship between the first liquid and the second liquid. The system includes flow for controlling the flow of the first liquid and a pump for pumping a second liquid. The electronic circuit includes a generator for generating an electrical pumping signal to power the pump for pumping the second liquid in accordance with an electrical pumping signal. An activator is connected to the flow and the generator for activating simultaneous flow and pumping of the first and second liquids, respectively, upon a selected signal from the activator.

    Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for concentrating fluid and for providing electrical power. The apparatus comprises an evaporator and a condenser interconnected by a conduit. A heat exchanger thermally couples warm liquid to the fluid in the evaporator. Means are provided for coupling a cool liquid to the condenser, thereby creating a mass flow of vapor from the evaporator to the condenser. A prime mover is interposed in the conduit for converting the mass flow of vapor into mechanical movement. An electrical generator is coupled to the prime mover enabling an electrical control to direct the output of the electrical generator for operating the apparatus and for directing excessive electrical energy produced by the electrical generator for external use.

    Abstract: The invention is a protector for a trailer hitch assembly having a trailer hitch ball supported on a trailer hitch neck. The protector includes an integral covering member having an outer covering member surface and an inner covering member surface. The inner covering member surface defines an internal region capable of receiving the trailer hitch ball. An aperture in the covering member is defined by a plurality of resilient covering member fingers to receive the trailer hitch ball within the internal region of the integral covering member. The covering member fingers resiliently engage the trailer hitch neck to position the covering member relative to the trailer hitch assembly. The outer covering member surface may be established in the shape of a commercial product, such as an oil container, an outboard motor power head or the like. Written or color indicia may be included on the outer covering member surface distinctive of a trademark of the commercial product.

Apertures extend into the first and second bases enabling a threaded fastener to adjustably secure the first and second members relative to one another. The first member finishes the inside and outside tubing surface with two separate inside and outside cutting edges while the second member simultaneously finishes the inside and outside tubing surface with two separate inside and outside cutting edges upon rotation of the device relative to the tubing.

    Abstract: A flexible spring bearing having concave and convex portions, and including main bearing race and thrust race are incorporated to be contiguous to the end of the concave portion. The main bearing race along with the cylindrical configuration rotates, via a bearing means, upon the thrust race. The bearing means may be an annular protrusion disposed concentric with the cylindrical configuration. The bearing means is protected from corrosion and dirt by a set of annular skirts and walls which form a channel with the bearing means located therein. The channel may be prepacked with a lubricant, thereby creating a hydraulic floating relationship between the main bearing race and thrust race. A visual indicator provides a means to measure the amount of surface wear of the bearing means on the thrust race.

The rotatable shaft has a journal for rotation with the shaft. A journal-engaging member is mounted in the internal cavity for engaging the journal to establish a normal force between the journal-engaging member and the journal. An oil outlet and an oil inlet communicate with the internal cavity in the housing. The oil inlet and oil outlet are connected to a machine for circulating lubricating oil between the housing and the machine whereby the lubricating oil is directed between the journal and the journal-engaging member.

The endless cutting member comprises, in the first embodiment of this invention, an endless cable wrapped circumferentially by a helical coil with cutting elements and cogs mounted thereon. In a second embodiment, the endless cutting member comprises an endless steel band with cutting elements welded thereon. In both embodiments, the cutting elements move between two rows of teeth of a comb disposed along the frontal cutting portion of the cutting device, thereby shearing the grass as the cutting elements flow between the teeth.

An accessory device such as an illumination device, a timer or a calculator, is mounted in the microphone housing and is powered by a rechargeable battery within the microphone housing.

The device may include an aperture defined in the support between the support surface and base surface for receiving a film sensitive to the electromagnetic radiation. The device is suitable for use as a positioning device for elderly people during an x-ray diagnosis.
