  • Patent number: 6764136
Abstract: The objects of the present invention is to reduce a backlash at the time of locking of a seat back and to reduce clearance in the thrust direction of a worm so as to prevent generation of an abnormal noise with a simple structure suitable for mass production. Substantially cone-shaped recesses 15 and 16 are provided respectively on both end faces of the worm 4 pivotably attached on a seat cushion, and inside end faces of a pair of holders 13 and 14 to support these two end portions, and at the same time balls 17 are rotatably housed respectively in a pair of spaces formed in the recesses 15 and 16 facing each other to form a pair of bearings 11 and 12 which rotatably support the worm 4. A press means composed of a coil spring 25 and the like which presses the worm 4 to the worm wheel 5 is provided in a locking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6758357
Abstract: A bottle is disclosed which comprises a neck that forms an upwardly extending mouth from and through which a liquid flows, and a first potion for preventing liquid residue from dripping upon the outer surface of the neck. The first portion includes at least one annular groove formed integrally with the outer surface of the neck near the mouth. The groove is defined by a frustoconical portion of the surface, coaxial to a central axis of the neck and having a diameter that decreases in a generally downward direction. It is also defined by an annulus-shaped portion, lying on a plane substantially normal to the axis and relatively smoothly filleted with the frustonconical portion. The maximum diameter of the annulus-shaped portion is substantially equal to the maximum diameter of the frustoconical portion.

  • Patent number: 6723409
Abstract: Sheets of rubber-coated fabric are mounted on the cylinders of offset printing presses. An under-packing formed from the combination of an optional flexible supporting sheet and a plurality of flexible packing sheets is interposed between the cylinder surface and the rubber-coated fabric to obtain a predetermined total thickness which varies for different types of printing presses. The thickness of the under-packing is equal to a predetermined maximum thickness. The thickness of the sheets of the under-packing is chosen such that by removing one or more packing sheets from the under-packing, the desired thickness for any specific case can be approximated. A face of each packing sheet which faces inwards, with the exception of the face of the innermost sheet or the supporting sheet if the supporting sheet is the innermost sheet, is treated with an adhesive which, while maintaining the sheets united, enables them to be separated from each other.

  • Patent number: 6718869
Abstract: In the method for threading a tail (7) of a paper or board web through a paper or board machine or a section thereof, or through an aftertreatment machine for paper or board or a section thereof, the tail (7) is prevented from wandering onto the same line with a tail carrier means (8, 9), such as threading ropes, upstream of the draw point of the tail. The tail (7) is guided towards the centre line of the machine by subjecting the tail to an effect of force which tends to move the tail towards the centre line of the machine.

  • Patent number: 6719471
Abstract: A toothbrush incorporating a toothpaste reservoir including a hollow body defining a head member having bristles, the hollow body forming a handle, a toothpaste containing reservoir housed in the handle and a pump arranged in the body to impel toothpaste towards the bristles. The pump is actuated by an outer push slidably mounted on the handle in engagement with the body of the pump. The handle defines an open bottom at a rear end allowing positioning and replacement of the toothpaste reservoir. The reservoir has an open top capped by an open cap extending in form of a cannula towards an inside of the reservoir. A bottom cap caps the open bottom of the handle. Sliding movement of the push toward the head member and relative to the handle causes toothpaste in the reservoir to be drawn out of the reservoir by the pump and directed toward the head member.

  • Patent number: 6720035
Abstract: The method includes the phases of preparation of said ceramic discs once lapped and polished; and deposition of a layer of hydrogenated amorphous carbon (or DLC: Diamond-Like Carbon) on said ceramic discs, said deposition phase including the following stages: exposure of said ceramic discs to vacuum; application of a cleaning plasma on said ceramic discs; application of a first deposition plasma on said ceramic discs; and application of a second deposition plasma on said ceramic discs. The ceramic disc is characterized in that it includes a layer of hydrogenated amorphous carbon deposited directly onto the ceramic disc. Thereby are obtained ceramic discs for utilization in mixer valves of single-lever mixer type whose friction coefficient is lower that that of the ceramic discs currently used, all this without loss of leak tightness, without having to use grease and with a low manufacturing cost.
