Abstract: A method for selling consumer goods on the Internet. The method involves the establishment of a website wherein goods are advertised for sale. The terms of sale are variable such that a buyer is expected to pay a premium for faster delivery of the selected goods. Additionally, sales are not consummated until a set number of buyers agree to receive their goods at one of the published price points. If not enough buyers agree to purchase at a published price point, then all buyers will be pooled together and a sale will be consummated at the lowest price point for which the predetermined number of buyers is reached. If the predetermined number of buyers cannot be reached by pooling all buyers together, then the sale will be cancelled. Money to consummate the sale will be transmitted directly from the buyer to the manufacturer of the sold goods. The manufacturer pays to the operator of the website a fee that is dependent on the sales of the goods that are made.
Abstract: A fishing lure including a U-shaped body having a primary member and a secondary member joined together by a crosspiece. A fishhook and a weight are affixed to the rear of the primary member. The weight has a bulb and a rearwardly extending stem that terminates at an enlarged shoulder. A detachable blade harness is releasably attached to the weight and includes an elastomeric tether to which is rotatably attached a pair of spinner blades. A buzz blade is rotatably attached to the secondary member.
Abstract: A multi-layered, structural, corrosion resistant composite includes, in an exemplary embodiment, a core layer having a first surface and an opposing second surface, a first fiber reinforced layer bonded to the first surface of the core layer, a second fiber reinforced layer bonded to the second surface of the core layer, and a corrosion resistant thermoplastic liner layer bonded to the second fiber reinforced layer. The core layer is formed from a closed cell polymeric foam.
Abstract: A bracket for reinforcing a wooden joist including a body having a central portion with a base wall. An upper portion is integrally formed with the central portion and has a first wall secured to and extending forwardly from the top of the base wall and a second wall secured to and extending from the front of the first wall. A notch in the top of the base wall extends upwardly through the first and second walls. A lower portion is integrally formed with the central portion and has a third wall secured to and extending at right angles from the bottom of the base wall and a fourth wall secured to and extending at right angles from the third wall. A brace is rigidly affixed to the base wall beneath the notch.
Abstract: A detachable swivel apparatus for a beach chair including a load-distributing platform for positioning upon the ground and saddle pivotally secured atop the platform. The saddle has a rectangular plate with a keyhole at each of its corners. A number of mounting clips are releasably secured to the saddle for grasping the legs of a beach chair. One of the clips is associated with each keyhole. Each of the clips has a pair of arcuate jaws for receiving and grasping therebetween one leg of a beach chair. A shaft is affixed to, and extends downwardly from, the jaws. A key bit is affixed to, and extends outwardly from, the bottom of the shaft. In use, the shaft and key bit of each of the clips can, in one angular orientation, be slid through a keyhole and, upon rotation to another angular orientation, be prevented from withdrawal through the keyhole.
Abstract: A beach chair including a seat having rigid, yet collapsible, frame. The frame carries a flexible platform for supporting the buttocks of a person seated upon the seat and a flexible backrest with shoulder straps secured thereto for supporting the back of a person seated upon the seat and permitting the chair to be easily transported when not employed for seating purposes. The frame has a U-shaped forward support member with a pair of forward legs being connected together by a forward crosspiece for maintaining the front of the platform at a fixed height above the ground. The frame also has a U-shaped rearward support member with a pair of rearward legs being connected together by a rearward crosspiece for maintaining the rear of the platform at a fixed height above the ground. A swivel apparatus is attached to the seat and is provided with a load-distributing platform for positioning upon the ground. A saddle is pivotally secured atop the platform for supporting the seat above the ground.
Abstract: An apparatus for dissolving a solid material in a liquid including a container for receiving the solid material and the liquid. A turbidimeter measures the turbidity of the liquid in the container. A blender stirs the liquid in the container until the turbidity thereof, as measured by the turbidimeter, falls below a predetermined level. A sensor gauges the level of liquid in the container and causes a valve to admit liquid into the container when the liquid level falls below a set point.

Abstract: An educational tool including a frame having a rod extending between its opposite sides. A number of beads are slidably positioned on the rod. A reckoning bar is slidably secured to the top of the frame. The reckoning bar bears indicia, for counting the beads, in the form of a series of whole numbers that increase from one side of the frame to the other. Another reckoning bar is slidably secured to the bottom of the frame and bears indicia, for counting the beads, in the form of a series of whole numbers that increase in a direction opposite that provided to the indicia on the first reckoning bar. A slide is slidably secured to the top of the frame for selectively covering the indicia on the first reckoning bar. A second slide is slidably secured to the bottom of the frame for selectively covering the indicia on the second reckoning bar.
Abstract: An outdoor game system includes a pole adapted for anchoring to the earth. A water-carrying conduit extends upwardly through the pole and is rotatable within the pole. A sprinkler is mounted atop the pole and is connected to the conduit. A reel is affixed to the conduit within the pole adjacent an opening in the pole. The reel is rotatable with the conduit. A net, capable of extension from the opening in the pole, is wound upon the reel. An elongated cover is provided for closing the opening in the pole. The cover is connected to the net for supporting the net above the earth, when the net is extended from the opening in the pole. A handgrip, for rotating the conduit to rewind the net upon the reel, is affixed to the conduit beneath the reel.
