  • Patent number: 8266561
Abstract: A method for providing a high-speed cell library is provided. The method can include, for example, selecting a set of commonly-occurring logic functions. The method can then include obtaining a netlist of area distributions for each of the set of functions. The netlist can be used to synthesize a set of cell libraries wherein an N-diffusion to P-diffusion area allowance is varied among the set of cell libraries. Thereafter, the method may also include comparing a time delay associated with each of the set of cell libraries with a time delay of a library benchmark delay. Based on the comparing, a delay number may be associated with each of the cell libraries. Finally, the cell libraries may be ranked based on the respective delay numbers associated with each of the cell libraries.

  • Patent number: 8260761
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program products for detecting potential architecture and interfacing issues in database applications are described herein. In an embodiment, the invention operates by accessing trace information. The trace information includes database-related information pertaining to interactions of a database application with a production database. The invention detects potential architecture and interfacing issues in the database application by analyzing the trace information. Such architecture and interfacing issues include, but are not limited to, multiple connections simultaneously blocking on the same row of a table, and client-side joins.

  • Patent number: 8258390
Abstract: Methods and systems for generating playlists of media items with audio data are disclosed. Based on two received feature sets, media items corresponding to each feature set are identified. Transition characteristics are also received. Based on the identified media items and transition characteristics, a dynamic playlist is generated that transitions from media items having characteristics of the first feature set to media items having characteristics of the second feature set. Each time the playlist is generated, it may include a different set of media items.

  • Patent number: 8260758
Abstract: A method and system for performing at least one transaction on at least one column of a table in a database system is disclosed. The method includes determining whether a first transaction of the at least one transaction fulfills all of at least one criteria. The method further includes ensuring that the at least one column is in a shared numeric lock if the first transaction fulfills all of the at least one criteria, wherein the shared numeric lock is a lock that allows at least a second transaction fulfilling all of the at least one criteria to access the same column concurrently with the first transaction without releasing the shared numeric lock between transactions, and wherein the shared numeric lock is released only after all of the transactions fulfilling all of the criteria have completed processing. The method further includes processing the first transaction.

  • Patent number: 8259111
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system are provided for processing data in a graphics pipeline. An embodiment of the method includes processing one or more vertices of a geometric primitive with a vertex shader function and generating new primitive information for the one or more processed vertices with a geometry shader function. The geometry shader function receives one or more processed vertices from the vertex shader function and emits a single vertex associated with the new primitive information. Each emitted vertex from the geometry shader function can be stored in a memory device. Unlike conventional graphic pipelines that require a memory device for data storage during the vertex and geometry shading processes, the present invention increases efficiency in the graphics pipeline by eliminating the need to access memory when the vertex and geometry shaders process vertex information.

  • Patent number: 8260604
Abstract: This invention relates to translating timed text in web video. In a first embodiment, a method automatically translates timed text for web video. The method includes receiving a request identifying a web video from a client. In response to the request, a timed text track for the web video is retrieved from a timed text database. Each timed text track in the timed text database specifies text to display at particular times in a video. Text from the timed text track is automatically translated to a target language. Finally, the translated text is sent to the client to display with the web video.

  • Patent number: 8260212
Abstract: An RF receiver and an RF transmitter, which are integrated in a single substrate, are operable to share a single reconfigurable filter to perform RF receiver filtering and RF transmitter filtering. The reconfigurable filter is configured to operate as a bandpass filter such as an image rejection bandpass filter for receiving RF signals by the RF receiver. The reconfigurable filter operates as a low pass filter for transmitting RF signals by the RF transmitter. The reconfigurable filter is configured to operate in a RF receiver filtering mode or a RF transmitter filtering mode, respectively. The reconfigurable filter is enabled to share configurable circuit components of the radio transceiver in both the radio frequency receiver filtering mode and the radio frequency transmitter filtering mode. The reconfigurable filter transitions between the radio frequency receiver filtering mode and the radio frequency transmitter filtering mode via reconfiguring the shared configurable circuit components.
