  • Patent number: 8271845
Abstract: Evaluating the operating safety of a complex software and or hardware system such as a system for displaying flight information on an instrument panel of an aircraft. The evaluation method includes construction of a first architecture of the system, divided into several blocks each comprising data inputs/outputs, the inputs of a block being connected to the outputs of other blocks in the first architecture; identification of failures of the outputs of the blocks of the architecture; construction of first boolean expressions expressing the states of the outputs of the blocks of the first architecture as a function of the states of the identified failures, of the states of the inputs of the blocks; definition of a first feared event to be examined by a second boolean expression constructed based on the first boolean expressions; and reduction of the second boolean expression in a sum of monomials.

  • Patent number: 8267495
Abstract: A liquid container includes a container body that accommodates a liquid containing portion containing a liquid. A residual liquid quantity detecting unit can be connected to the container body so as to detect a residual amount of liquid remaining in the liquid containing portion. A fitting mechanism, which allows the container body and the residual liquid quantity detecting unit to relatively rotate so as to be detachably attached to each other, may also be formed in a region where the container body and the residual liquid quantity detecting unit are connected to each other.

  • Patent number: 8265899
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of data merging, the term “data” encompassing “observation data”. It relates notably to the data obtained from processing of sonar, radar or optronic signals. The subject of the invention is a method for carrying out the spectral merging and characterization of tracks, each track including the data relating to the evolution over time of the bearing position and of the Doppler frequency of an assumed object. This method includes: a first step of merging the initial tracks which correspond substantially to identical observation directions (azimuths); and a second step of frequency analysis of the tracks resulting from merging the initial tracks and of characterizing the merged tracks whose spectrum takes the form of a harmonic comb characteristic of a single real object. The invention finds for example its application in data merging and echo classification, for narrowband passive sonar applications.

  • Patent number: 8262208
Abstract: According to one aspect of the invention, a remanufacturing method of a liquid container forms an inlet in a certain area, for example, a buffer chamber, other than a specific section including liquid reservoirs and flow paths adjoining to and directly communicating with a bubble trap flow path in the liquid container. In the state of closing a liquid feeder and opening an air open structure, the remanufacturing method injects a liquid through the inlet to fill a space in the upstream of the inlet with the liquid. In the state of opening the liquid feeder and closing the air open structure, the remanufacturing method injects the liquid through the inlet to fill a space in the downstream of the inlet with the liquid. The remanufacturing process seals the inlet after completion of the injection of the liquid. This arrangement enables the liquid to be refilled into the liquid container without damaging the functions of the liquid container.

  • Patent number: 8257521
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of propellant devices and more particularly to the propellant devices used in weapon systems and munitions. The invention has the two advantages of minimizing the risk associated with accidental attack to which propellant devices may be exposed thanks to the filling of the central channel commonly provided along the core of the cylindrical explosive charge and of greatly increasing the effectiveness of these propellant charges by the use of explosive materials having a very high burn rate.
