  • Patent number: 6530474
Abstract: A tray for holding multiple discs within a storage container which, desirably, is a conventional single disc jewel box, includes a leaf for mounting discs on opposite sides thereof and a shelf substantially rigidly attached, via attachment plates depending from the shelf, to the jewel box base, the leaf being pivotably connected to the shelf via a hinge connection which permits the leaf to pivot thereabout for accessing discs on both sides of the leaf. Flanges cantilevered from the leaf each have an upwardly opening pivot bore for pivotably engaging a pivot pin supported by the shelf. Reinforcing plates depending from opposite sides of the shelf are spaced from the shelf attachment plates for rigidly reinforcing the shelf while permitting the shelf attachment plates to flex, as needed, to engage the jewel box base.

  • Patent number: 6523685
Abstract: An improved rosette for securing a disc having a central aperture includes a raised cylindrical hub projecting upward from a planar base, the hub being formed of first and second upstanding annular sections having substantially cylindrical side walls, the first annular section comprising at least 180° of the circumferential extent of the circular hub. Each of the annular sections includes at least one radially extending rim projecting outwardly beyond the cylindrical side walls. An arm cantilevered from the cylindrical wall of the second annular section above the base extends radially inwardly toward the central axis of the hub such that downward finger pressure applied to the free end of the arm causes the cylindrical wall of the second annular section to pivot radially inwardly and downwardly to allow the central aperture of a disc mounted on the rosette to be released from engagment with the radially extending rims for one-handed removal of the disc from the rosette.

  • Patent number: 6522954
Abstract: A smart control strategy/system for regulating a temperature controller for supplying or exhausting heat to/from a room, object or the like. The actual temperature of a room, object or the like requiring temperature control is prompted to dither between a specifiable maximum and specifiable minimum temperature setpoint by signaling the temperature controller periodically on/off. The profile of the actual temperature is continually monitored and the changes in the profile of the actual temperature resulting as a reaction to ON/OFF of the temperature controller are made use of to determine optimum ON/OFF points in time of the temperature controller.

  • Patent number: 6451229
Abstract: In the proposed method of molding toothbrushes, a mold with relatively movable mold parts (14, 16) defining at least one molding cavity (20) corresponding in shape to a toothbrush body is used. One of the mold parts (16) has a brush head defining cavity portion with a plurality of holes (24) for partial penetration into the cavity portion of a like number of fiber tufts. Plasticized molding material is injected under pressure into the cavity (20). Pressure within the cavity is sensed during the injecting step. The injection is stopped when the pressure within the cavity exceeds a predetermined pressure value, thereby avoiding any leakage of molding material through the holes (24).

  • Patent number: 6443420
Abstract: The solenoid valve has two fluidic connections (3, 4), a solenoid (5) and a core (8) guided in a cylinder (7) within the solenoid body (6). The solenoid valve (1) is opened as a result of the movement of the core (8) when the solenoid (5) becomes magnetized. • Patent number: 6406099
Abstract: In order to attach brush bristle tufts onto carriers made of thermoplastic material, which are formed with multiple holes according to a desired tuft pattern, the bristle tufts are first inserted into the holes in such a way that the bristle tips that are to be used protrude from one side while the bristle ends protrude only slightly from the holes on the opposite side. A heated punch has a multiplicity of conical or pyramidal projections. The projections of this punch penetrate between the holes into the mass of the carrier so that this mass softens and is pushed laterally into the interstices of the bristle tufts. In this manner, a tight interlock is created between the material of the bristles and that of the carrier.

  • Patent number: 6405236
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for transporting data between application programs assigned to different interconnected computers of a computer network, the method being based on a connectionless and packet-oriented transport method capable of transporting the data packets between application programs. When a data packet is transmitted from the application program of a source computer to that of the destination computer, a retransmission timer (RT) and an acknowledgement timer (QT) are initiated. After the data packet has been initially received, it is transferred to the application program of the destination computer. Each time the destination computer receives a data packet, an acknowledgement packet is transmitted back to the source computer, confirming receipt of the data packet.
