  • Patent number: 6330686
Abstract: During phase one of each protected conversation transaction, one or more messages are inserted. These messages are logged for recoverability. IMS system could crash before phase two of commit. When IMS restarted and eventually reached phase 2, it could vote to abort or commit the conversation. During IMS restart, the retry logic is used to put all protected conversation messages out to central facility with a specification that the first message segment be put on the staging queue using the recovery token as the queue name. If it is an abort request, all messages under the same commit scope identified by the recovery token, will be deleted. If it is a commit request, the first segment of all messages under the same commit scope will be moved to its appropriate ready queue with its actual queue name.

  • Patent number: 6330096
Abstract: The number of pixels in a horizontal scanning direction and the number of pixels in a vertical scanning direction are computed by use of a calibration sheet. The cycle of a first clock pulse which is generated by a first clock generation section is computed by a clock-cycle computation section so that the computed number of horizontal pixels becomes equal to a desired number of horizontal pixels. Similarly, the cycle of a second clock pulse which is generated by a second clock generation section is computed by the clock-cycle computation section so that the computed number of vertical pixels becomes equal to a desired number of vertical pixels. The computed cycles of the first and second clock pulses are stored in a clock-cycle storage section. When reading a sheet from which an image is read out, a drive-clock control section controls the first and second clock generation sections, based on the stored clock cycles.

  • Patent number: 6329604
Abstract: A multilayer printed wiring board prevents unnecessary emission of electromagnetic waves. The board includes at least two signal wiring layers, at least one ground layer, at least one power source layer, and a ground plane. The board further includes ground wiring adjacent to signal wiring in a signal wiring layer farther apart from said ground layer, the ground wiring being in the signal wiring layer. The ground wiring serves as a return current path for a signal current flowing in the signal wiring. In this structure, the return current path is reserved adjacent to the signal current path and the signal wiring is lower in impedance than the ground plane. The current can be fed back through a shorter closed loop. It is therefore possible to form a small loop to pass a signal current returning to a ground point and flowing through each signal wiring arranged in the board and a return current of the signal current. This minimizes unnecessary emission of electromagnetic waves.

  • Patent number: 6328421
Abstract: A fluid drop projecting apparatus which can fly, one by one, fluid drops far smaller than the opening bore from which the drops are projected, and moreover cay readily vary the size of the fluid drops, is provided. To this end, surface waves travelling toward a fluid drop projecting point are applied on the free surface of fluid in a fluid drop projecting chamber having an opening. The surface waves are generated by a surface wave generator including the fluid drop projecting chamber, a diaphragm and a piezo actuator. As the surface waves are generated by the surface wave generator at substantially equal distances from a fluid drop projecting point, the height of the surface waves gradually increases, amplified by their interference, and fluid drops are separated at and projected from the fluid drop projecting point.
