  • Patent number: 6541718
Abstract: A full power switch assembly for a portable generator that is capable of instantly communicating the presence and operation of a full power switch to the user is disclosed. The full power switch assembly includes a first outlet for supplying electrical power having a first voltage (e.g., 120 VAC), a second outlet for supplying electrical power having a second voltage (e.g., 240 VAC), and a switch including a selector. The selector is movable from a first position to a second position for causing the first outlet to be capable of supplying electrical power up to a maximum power level. Movement of the selector between the first position and the second position further causes indicia to be displayed for indicating whether the first outlet is capable of supplying electrical power up to the maximum power level.

  • Patent number: 6535969
Abstract: A method and system for allocating and freeing memory in an electronic system allocates available memory by including at least one or more flags that indicate the size and status of the allocated segment in the same area in which the segment is allocated. A free portion in the available memory is searched such that the free portion is sufficient to accommodate the requested segment. Upon finding a free portion, a new segment is created in the free portion where the new segment includes an allocated segment equal in size to the requested segment and further includes a segment area that accommodates at least one flag of the allocated segment such that the segment area is adjacent to the allocated segment. At least one flag of the allocated segment is set, and may include a size flag or a status flag that indicates whether the allocated segment is occupied and whether the allocated segment is the last segment.

  • Patent number: 6529963
Abstract: A system for interconnecting a plurality of interdependent fiber channel loops or fabrics. The system preferably comprises a first server which includes a PCI bus and a fibre channel to PCI bus adapter for each one of the plurality of the independent fibre channels. Each fibre channel to PCI bus adapter is configured to connect one of the plurality fibre channels to the PCI bus at the first server. The plurality of independent fibre channels then communicate with each other across the PCI bus of the first server utilizing the intelligent I/O (I2O) routing of the fibre channel to PCI bus adapters. The plurality of fibre channels are configured to communicate with the other fibre channels, as well as the first server via the PCI bus. This system can be configured such that any one of the plurality of fibre channels can include one or more devices connected thereto in addition to the first server.

  • Patent number: 6530083
Abstract: A method and system for adjusting the settings of an information handling system based on the individual user preferences of one or more users is disclosed. An individual user preference profile is retrieved for each identified user of the information handling system. A combined user preference profile is negotiated based on the individual user preference profiles retrieved for each identified user. The settings are then adjusting based on the combined user preference profile. A user interface identifies users of the information handling system. A system controller retrieves an individual user preference profile for each identified user, negotiates a combined user preference profile based on the individual user preference profiles retrieved for each identified user, and adjusts the settings of the information handling system based on the combined user preference profile.

  • Patent number: 6513126
Abstract: An interface is provided between a digital signal processor or the like and an output encoder or the like that is capable of counting a system clock of the digital signal processor, generally having a higher clock rate, with respect to at least one or more clocks generally having a lower clock rate. The digital signal processor system clock is passed to the interface that has at least one or more counters. When the accumulation of the system clock reaches a corresponding number of the other clocks, a domain module in the output encoder is triggered, and the corresponding clock counters are reset. The interface may be implemented as a software modeling routine suitable for utilization by a digital signal processor simulator to facilitate complete whole cycle simulation in which multiple clocks having various clock rates may be simulated and compared with a behavior reference. The interface provides cycle-by-cycle comparison of the clocks in an asynchronous domain.

  • Patent number: 6506402
Abstract: The present invention provides improved chlortetracycline-containing animal feed compositions and processes and apparatuses for their preparation. In certain embodiments, raw fermentation broth comprising chlortetracycline is divided into two portions. The first portion is mixed with a compound that complexes chlortetracycline. The second portion is acidified and the solids are removed. The acidified liquid is treated with a complexing agent to produced a chlortetracycline complex. The first and second portions thus treated are then mixed and the mixture is passed on to a filter press or other means for separation of the solids to produce a wet cake comprising complexed chlortetracycline. In alternative embodiments, the second portion may be acidified and filtered and admixed with the first portion prior to the complexing step. The resulting mixture is passed on to a filter press or other means for separation of the solids.
