    Abstract: A system for reproducing a raster scanned line of an image on a photoconductive surface of a drum comprising a monochromatic light source, a rotating holographic disk containing a plurality of diffraction gratings therein, and means for reflecting said monochromatic light beam so as to direct the monochromatic light beam to and along a selected straight line on the photoconductive surface of the drum. The means for reflecting the monochromatic light beam comprises an elliptic reflecting surface, a first mirror for reflecting the monochromatic light beam passed through the scanning disk to said elliptic reflecting surface, and a second mirror for receiving the monochromatic light beam reflected from the elliptical reflecting surface and for directing the reflected light beam onto a selected straight line on the photoconductive surface of the drum. The elliptic reflecting surface can, with little loss in accuracy, be replaced by a cylindrical surface.

The therapy equipment consists of at least one oscillator plate which is arranged in bodily contact with the body of the person who sits, lies or stands on it, in which the oscillator plate is made to oscillate by sound waves, whereby corresponding oscillation generators are secured in bodily contact to the oscillator plate. The frequency of the sound waves is adjusted to the reabsorption frequency of individually selected organs and parts of the body, to treat selective individual organs or parts of the human body.

    Abstract: In order to prevent bonding wire sag and to allow high lead count an insulative bridging member is provided between the ends of inner leads of a lead frame and a centrally mounted integrated circuit die. The bridging member of annular square configuration has transverse plated spaced conductive pathways. A first series of short bonding wires connect selected die contact pads to an inner end of selected conductive pathways and a second concentric series of bonding wires connect an outer end of the selective conductive pathways of the bridging member to selected ones of the inner leads of the lead frame. The above elements except for outer leads of the lead frame are encapsulated to form an overall die package with external leads or pin contacts.

    Abstract: A reaction product is formed by a process which involves the transfer of the reaction product from an autoclave to a receiving vessel at a substantially constant flow rate. Just prior to this transfer, the pressure in the receiving vessel is brought up to the pressure in the autoclave by passing gas from the autoclave to the receiving vessel. The flow of gas from the autoclave to the receiving vessel is then stopped, and the pressure in the receiving vessel is allowed to drop due to transfer of heat from the gas to the walls of the receiving vessel. The resulting pressure difference between the autoclave and the receiving vessel is used to initiate the transfer of the reaction products from the autoclave to the receiving vessel. A pressure release valve on the receiving vessel is then controlled by means a signal derived from a flow meter which measures the flow rate of the reaction products flowing from the autoclave to the receiving vessel to maintain constant this flow rate.

    Abstract: The procedure for the introduction of a layer charge for Otto motors uses a richer mixture in the area of the spark plug and a correspondingly weaker for the remaining areas. The rich mixture is led under pressure through "squish" spaces to the spark plug, in which, in one embodiment, at least one flow vortex accelerated at medium power by the type and shape of the combustion chamber together with the position of the "squish" spaces is created. In this way a very low fuel consumption at minimal carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon and nitrogen content of the exhaust gas is achieved. The motor can be driven at a total mixture composition of Lambda 1.5 or more, in which a readily ignitable mixture of Lambda 0.8 to 1.0 is injected into in the area of the spark plug.

    Abstract: Support of rake arms in a thickener is by sets of separate support cables and separate torque cables extending from outboard-of-the-center positions of rotating trusses extending radially of the sedimentation tank. The sets of support cables are attached in a vertical plane between spaced positions on a common point on the trusses to spaced radial positions along inner hinged rake arms so that the entire weight of the arms is taken up by the support cables. Torque cables extend from a single point on a truss generally midway of the truss but at a radially offset position from the center line of containing the support cable attachments on the truss or multiple trusses. The torquing or pulling action of the torque cables, also produces no thrust load along the rake arms. This eliminates the need of a heavy large center structure adjacent the rake arm hinges to absorb a rake arm thrust load against the hinges. The hinges are supported by relatively thin posts extending from the rotating trusses.

    Abstract: A game board utilizes and teaches the basic playing and wagering parameters of a casino craps game while challenging player against player in strategic card play. The game board includes series of wagering areas before each player simulating betting areas on the casino craps table, a central pot area and a ladder-like token step advance area. The play of cards, equally dealt to the players from a standard deck, is dependent on the same throw(s) of dice as is the craps wagering play. Movement of a token is dependent on the possible discard after each throw of dice of one or more cards of a value or values reflecting the sum of the dice indicia on the thrown dice. Winning wagers or rewards are paid from a central pot area on the board from antes of the players and from previous lost wagers which are placed in the central pot area. The winner may either be the player or partnership able to first discard all its cards or move his token to the central area along the token ladder.

Each of the AF-F rollers is generally cylindrical in shape and has a flat end surface at one end and a truncated dome-shaped end surface at the opposite end. The endless circulating path includes a pair of straight load and return sections and a pair of curved connecting sections each connecting the corresponding ends of the load and return sections. Preferably, the curved connecting section has a pair of outer guide surfaces each of which has a radius of curvature which is equal to or slightly larger than the radius of curvature defining the dome-shaped portion of each of the rollers.

    Abstract: A binder for a stack of punched hole paper sheets utilizes various headed fastener members with a post insertable in the punched holes from one side of the stack. A post connector is utilized on the other side of the stack. The headed fastener members, normally two or three in number corresponding to the number of punched holes in the paper sheets, are captured in recesses and post apertures, punched in a multi-fold carrier made by scoring and folding a thin flexible binder material which serves to encapsulate, capture, space and hold the series of headed fasteners. The fastener posts extend perpendicular to a resultant appreciably stiffened elongated multilayer carrier forming a unitary assembly. In a preferred embodiment, a post connector is also captured and held in a recess within an elongated multi-fold, multilayer carrier forming a second unitary assembly. The multilayer carriers in a preferred embodiment include integral front and rear covers.

    Abstract: A dual motor linear actuator is disclosed for use in a magnetic disc drive device. It includes a carriage reciprocatably guided between a pair of guide rails, with the accessing transducers being mounted to its inner end. Separate rectangular drive coils are affixed in symmetrical outboard relationship at the sides of the body of the carriage. The actuator assembly further includes two pairs of slab shaped magnets mounted to E-shaped magnet support structures that are integrally formed with the base of the disc drive device. The magnets are mounted to form two air gaps that are symmetrically disposed relative to a center plane and so that they respectively cooperate with the drive coils to apply motive forces on the carriage generally along two lines that are equidistantly spaced from the aforesaid plane of symmetry. The outer ends of pole pieces of the two magnet support structures are rigidly interconnected by a single plate that acts as an end pole piece for both magnet support structures.

    Abstract: A wave-activated power generating apparatus includes a generally L-shaped duct including a vertically extending portion and a horizontally extending portion and a floatable main body fixedly attached to the duct. The floatable main body is provided such that it is located rearwardly of the vertically extending portion of the duct when the apparatus is set in position floating on the water surface. The horizontally extending portion is in fluidic communication with the vertically extending portion and has an open rear end which is submerged underwater in normal operating condition. Because of the particular arrangement of the main body with respect to the vertically extending portion of the duct, the apparatus is subjected to pitching motion vigorously, which allows to obtain an increased power output. In addition, the water column is ejected in the form of a jet stream in the rearward direction, which contributes to mitigate the mooring force requirements.

Each disk is transported by the robotic arm and inserted into a series of disk-holding apertures in a carrier panel and, after processing of multiple disks in the panel, the processed disks are removed from the carrier panel by the robotic arm to a second cassette position where the plugs are removed from the processed disk and the plugs conveyed by a pair of robotic arms or by the robotic arm acting in conjunction with an auxiliary robotic arm for reinsertion into other blank disks. Sensors are provided for accurately positioning the robotic arm with respect to the position of the carrier panel to be loaded.

    Abstract: A carrier is provided to hold a centrally apertured disk while magnetic material is coated simultaneously on the two surfaces of the disk. A carrier includes a plate which contains a first opening through the plate slightly smaller than the disk diameter and a second opening partially through the plate formed about a center line offset from the center line of the first opening to form a recess around an upper portion of first opening edge. The disk is directed into the recess and first opening and then lowered into a groove at the bottom of the first opening. The groove and recess in conjunction with the disk edges block flow of plasma and impurities from one side of the disk to the other during simultaneous coating of magnetic media on the disk surfaces. A two-part plug is placed in the disk center aperture, one part containing a spring or magnet for holding the two parts together in the disk. The plug also serves as a handle by which the disk can be carried, mounted in or removed from the carrier.

    Abstract: A two-part binding system includes one or more bifurcated posts integrally extending from a clamping strip or member. The posts are inserted into one or more apertures in a stack of punched paper or other material and a second clamping strip having one or more integral or separate latching buttons inserted over and around the posts. Each button includes one or a pair of toothed pawls integrally hinged to a cross bar extending across a button aperture. The posts contain a series of transverse ratchets facing each other. As the second strip and its integral or snap-in latching button is manually pressed over the posts toward the first clamping strip, the teeth of the pawl teeth ratchet successively into the posts toward the base of the posts until the stack of paper is firmly grasped and the teeth mesh with a final transverse ratchet. At this position, the strips are bowed putting the edges of the stacked sheets in compression.

    Abstract: The positioning system, particularly useful for moving a stage mounting a semiconductor wafer for the manufacture of semiconductor devices, provides a lead screw and zero backlash nut for coarse motion of the stage. A thrust member fixedly mounts the nut and the member is flexurally mounted to a housing supporting the stage acting through a piezoelectric motor connection. This action brings the stage in a coarse adjustment mode into the capture range of the piezoelectric motor for fine adjustment by in and out movement of a pusher rod extending from the motor. Flexures allow motion of the thrust member parallel to the lead screw and protects the piezoelectric motor from undesirable side loads. A separate duplicate mechanism is used for each of x-axis and y-axis movements of the housing and stage to bring the stage to a precise position by the respective coarse and fine translationary movements of the lead screw, thrust members and piezoelectric motors.
