  • Patent number: 6250136
Abstract: A device for the on-line measurement of viscosity and/or level of molten glass, converting the values of these variables into proportional electrical signals. The device comprises one sensor head connected to an electronic control unit and to a data processing unit. The sensor head comprises a fixed metallic core with external fins for air cooling, laid across by two vertical parallel shafts designed for torsional vibration to which are fixed, at the lower extremities, refractory rods partially coated with platinum and, at the upper extremities, the rotors of the two electrical motors which can produce torsional vibration of the vertical shafts. To each shaft are fixed two discs, connected mechanically to the fixed core by three fine rods disposed at 120° angles around the shaft. In operation, the sensor head is installed on a rigid structure fixed over the channel where the molten glass flows, with both rods partially immersed into the melt in order to be protected by the platinum coatings.

  • Patent number: 6223481
Abstract: The invention relates to a roof construction, assembled from aluminium alloy extrusions and sections which may be cut on site to the appropriate dimensions. There is a ring beam, made from a channel and a ridge member in the form of a central extruded aluminium alloy central box member, the channel and member being essentially of the same section. Thus a relatively small number of different extrusions are required.

  • Patent number: 6202716
Abstract: A removing device for liquid in a flexible packing by means of which an unintentional escape of liquid and the ingress of air, dirt and microorganisms in the product accommodated in said packing can be prevented reliably and permanently. In order to achieve this, the removing device according to the present invention is provided with a tubular straw element including the inlet of the removing device and with a closure element associated with the outlet. The flexible packing according to the present invention, which is used for accommodating a liquid, is provided with an insertion area for inserting a removing device, said insertion area being defined by an opening formed in the envelope of said flexible packing and closed by a foil in the initial state, said foil being of such a nature that it will sealingly wrap itself around the introduced removing device thus forming a tentlike shape.

  • Patent number: 6202266
Abstract: A versatile user-adjustable clamp for clamping accessories to the panels of ready-to-assemble furniture articles, and other surfaces such as countertops, has a main body member, a jaw member, and a knob. The main body member has a substantially spool-shaped section with accessory interface means at opposing ends thereof, and a rectangular section that projects tangentially from the spool-shaped section. The spool-shaped section of the main body member telescopingly receives the jaw member, and has a knob-receiving aperture. The knob is rotatably secured within the knob aperture and provides a means for actuating the telescopic movement of the jaw member relative to the main clamp body. The jaw member includes a flat surface interface that is oriented parallel to the rectangular section of the main clamp body, and has a separate accessory interface means therein.
