The recording controller is configured to execute a first recording instruction to record first data received from the one or more signal sensors. The first data is recorded according to first recording rules that specify a first value of a parameter. The recording controller is also configured to, in response to an irregularity detected in the first data, execute a second recording instruction to record second data received from the one or more signal sensors. The second data is recorded according to second recording rules that specify a second value of the parameter, where the second value differs from the first value.

Abstract: Methods, aircraft, and engine nacelles are disclosed. A wing leading edge of a planform is superimposed on a wing shockwave that extends in a first direction from a shockwave apex toward the wing leading edge. A waverider shape is streamline traced between the wing leading edge and a trailing edge of the planform to form a waverider wing. A position of an engine inlet vertex relative to the waverider wing is identified. An inlet shockwave is projected from the inlet vertex in a second direction generally opposed to the first direction. The inlet shockwave intersects the wing shockwave. An inlet leading edge of an engine inlet includes a lower leading edge including a plurality of points where the inlet shockwave intersects the wing shockwave.

Abstract: A method of selective call initiation is disclosed and includes receiving data from a computer based auction site. Further, the method includes detecting a notification event by evaluating the data with respect to notification criteria associated with a user account. Also, the method includes initiating a voice based call over a voice network to a communication device identified in connection with the user account. A system is also disclosed and includes a first processing element that is coupled to a network interface to receive data from a computer based auction site. Also, the system includes a second processing element to detect a notification event by evaluating the data with respect to notification criteria associated with a user account. Moreover, the system includes a third processing element to initiate an outgoing voice based call over a voice network to a communication device identified in connection with the user account.

Abstract: A method and device for selectively refreshing a region of a non-volatile memory of a data storage device is disclosed. In a particular embodiment, a method is disclosed that includes comparing a time stamp received from a host device to a first time stamp retrieved from a data storage device for a first region of a non-volatile memory, the first region including a least recently accessed region of a memory array within the data storage device. The method also includes selectively refreshing the first region based on a comparison of a difference between the time stamp received from the host device and the first time stamp as compared to a threshold, where the threshold is adjusted based on a first error count corresponding to a number of errors detected by an error correction code (ECC) engine with respect to data retrieved from the first region.

Abstract: In a distributed computer system, data to be communicated is assigned to one of a plurality of virtual queues. The plurality of virtual queues includes a first representative virtual queue associated with a first fault group and a second representative virtual queue associated with a second fault group. The data to be communicated is assigned to one of the plurality of virtual queues prior to transmission based on fault group information associated with the data.

Abstract: Systems and methods to perform polynomial division are disclosed. In a particular embodiment, the method includes receiving a codeword and storing a portion of the received codeword at a register. The portion of the received codeword has a first number of terms. A divisor having a second number of terms is also received. During at least one stage of a multi-stage polynomial division operation using the portion of the codeword and the divisor, the portion of the received codeword to be divided by the divisor is adjusted based on a result of a comparison of the first number to the second number.

Abstract: Systems and methods of tracking error data are disclosed. A method includes receiving a first checksum associated with error locations of a first error correction code operation and receiving a second checksum associated with error locations of a second error correction code operation. The first checksum is compared to the second checksum and an action is initiated on a region of a memory array based on a result of the comparison.

Abstract: Programmer's data is initially stored in a memory device of the storage device by using an MBC storage scheme. After the storage device is embedded in a host device, the programmer's data is internally read from the memory device by using conventional read reference voltages, and the number of erroneous data bits in the programmer's data is calculated. If the programmer's data includes an uncorrectable number of erroneous data bits, the programmer's data is iteratively reread by using unconventional read reference voltages with decreased levels. The iteration process, which includes decreasing the level of the read reference voltages and recalculating the number of erroneous data bits, is terminated when the number of erroneous data bits in the programmer's is less than or equals a predetermined number of erroneous data bits, after which the storage device restores the programmer's data and conventionally rewrites it into the memory device.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for verifying a charge payment transaction subsequent to executing the charge payment transaction in a retail location. The method includes moving a charge payment device into the retail location and presenting the charge payment device at a merchant point of sale located at the retail location for performing the charge payment transaction. A transaction record of the charge payment transaction is stored in a transaction log within the charge payment device. A report record of the charge payment transaction is transmitted from the merchant point of sale to a settlement system and added to an electronic payments report. The transaction log is electronically correlated with the electronic payments report, checking for discrepancies between the transaction log and the electronic payments report.

Abstract: A method is disclosed that includes receiving a data packet at a first video distribution hub via a first link. The method also includes determining whether a second link has failed, wherein the first video distribution hub communicates with a second video distribution hub via a primary network path that includes the second link. When the second link has failed, a backup network path to send the data packet, or a copy thereof, to the second video distribution hub, is determined based on data stored at the first video distribution hub. The method also includes sending the data packet, or the copy thereof, to the second video distribution hub via the backup network path, wherein the backup network path does not include the second link.

Abstract: A geographic-based communications service system has a mobile unit for transmitting/receiving information, and access points connected to a network. The access points are arranged in a known geographic locations and transmit and receive information from the mobile unit. When one of the access points detects the presence of the mobile unit, it sends a signal to the network indicating the location of the mobile unit and the information requested by the mobile unit. Based on the signal received from the access point, the network communicates with information providers connected to the network and provides data to the mobile unit through the access point corresponding to the location of the mobile unit.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to debug a network application are described. A described example network includes a live control network to collect control messages to create a history of network states, the history of network states reflecting an order in which control messages are processed, the live control network to roll back from a current state to a past state upon detection of an improper sequence of messages and to process the messages in a corrected sequence, the corrected sequence to be stored in the history. The described example network further includes a virtualized network corresponding to the live control network, the virtualized network responsive to a command from an operator to step through the history to facilitate debugging.
