  • Patent number: 5414886
Abstract: Movable ground supports, which are folded out either manually or hydraulically, are arranged at the tip of the launching support in devices for laying collapsible bridges. An inflatable container (6) is integrated in the structural part (2) of the launching support (8), and the container acts as a movable support in the filled state. A release mechanism (10) arranged in the vicinity of the container ensures that the medium--compressed air or nitrogen--will escape from the inflated container (6) when the end of the bridge (5) has completely reached the bearing (9) after advancing forward.

  • Patent number: 5413195
Abstract: The invention provides a hydraulic shock absorber for controlling an attenuating force in a very low speed range and a medium or high speed range of the speed of a piston. A leaf valve for the high speed range and another leaf valve for the medium or high speed range are disposed for opening and closing movement at an exit end of a port formed in a partition wall member such as the piston. The leaf valve for the low speed range is supported at a rear face of an inner peripheral portion thereof for up and down floating movement on an upper face of a valve stopper. In the medium or high speed range, the leaf valve for the low speed range is deflected to move the inner peripheral portion thereof floatingly, which prevents the leaf valve from being deflected excessively and hence prevents a possible break of the leaf valve.

  • Patent number: 5413621
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a process for cooling and purifying hot, dust-laden flue gases enriched with dioxins and other toxic components from a melting vessel, e.g., an arc furnace. Both the flue gases A, B generated during charging and those generated during the melting operation are collected, and the toxic components are removed in two ways. The flue gases A collected in the exhaust hoods 2 are fed into the filter 6, while previously blowing an additive 12, on which the toxic components settle before reaching the filter bags, into the flue gas stream A.The hot flue gases B drawn off directly from the arc furnace 1 are introduced into a combustion chamber 3 after passing through a water-cooled section 4, and are subjected to afterburning in the combustion chamber 3 to remove the toxic pollutants. These gases are then intermediately cooled in a second, water-cooled section 5, further cooled by adding more additional cold air A, and fed into the filter 7.

  • Patent number: 5412267
Abstract: A miniature motor including a motor case formed into a bottomed hollow cylindrical shape having a cross-sectional shape having two long sides consisting of two parallel lines (planar portions) and two short sides. An end bracket is fitted to an open end of the motor case. Permanent magnets are fixedly fitted to the cylindrical inside surface of the motor case. The inside surfaces of the permanent magnets, when assembled, form part of a cylindrical surface. An armature is rotatably supported in the motor case via bearings provided on the motor case and the end bracket. Recesses are provided on the inside of the parallel planar portions of the motor case and positioned in such a manner that a gap g.sub.1 between the inside surfaces of the recesses and the armature is related to a gap g.sub.2 between the inside surfaces of the permanent magnets and the armature by a relationship that g.sub.1 g.sub.2. A method is further proposed of making the motor in which the recesses are formed by ironing.
