  • Patent number: 5350127
Abstract: A process and device for monitoring the bobbin thread on stitch-forming machines, on the bobbin of which a residual amount of thread is wound in a winding direction opposite the direction of winding of the principal amount of thread, is to ensure that a first control function will be generated at the beginning of consumption of the residual amount of thread, and a second control function is generated nearly without delay in the case of thread end or thread break. To achieve this, two signal patterns are received with a phase shift from a bobbin acting as a signal generator, and the first signal function is generated in the case of a deviation of the actual phase shift from the desired phase shift. If only one signal pattern is received, this first control function is also generated if its signal sequence deviates from a reference signal sequence. The second control function is generated if a stoppage of the bobbin lasts longer than a predeterminable number of stitches.

  • Patent number: 5349724
Abstract: The device which forms the object of the present invention comprises flat element (1) more than half of which is subdivided longitudinally into two parts (2 and 3). The external faces of the element (1) are provided with longitudinal grooves (4) and the internal faces are provided with longitudinal parallel ribs (5). The element (1) is embraced by a bridge piece (6) with laterally projecting wings (7) and a number of inner ribs (8) which slide within the grooves (4). To seal the opening of the container the lips of the opening are simply fitted between the two parts (2 and 3). Once in this position, the bridge piece (6) is simply pushed along by pressing the projections (7) with the fingers such that as it advances, guided by the coupling which exists between the ribs (8) and the grooves (4), it applies pressure on the opening until it is perfectly sealed, the presence of the ribs (5) eliminating any tendency of the new seal to slip.

  • Patent number: 5347695
Abstract: A device for independently connecting a plurality of eyelets together by lacing with a lace. The device has a plate with a hook for hooking and unhooking the plate from one of the eyelets. A flap is connected to the plate and one end of the flap extends beyond the hook and the plate, to form a handle allowing a user to grip the device, and then hook and unhook the hook from the eyelet. Another end of the flap is connected to a ring which defines an opening through which the lace can pass. In this way the lace can be connected and disconnected from the eyelet without having to thread and unthread the lace from the eyelet.

  • Patent number: 5349461
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the digital, bidirectional data transmission on an optical waveguide. For either direction of the data transmission, light pulses having the same frequency are used. The pulses to be transmitted are reduced from an original width T.sub.b to a width T.sub.r, the pulse-to-pause ratio T.sub.r (T.sub.b -T.sub.r) having to be smaller than one. The second transmitter/receiver unit is allowed to transmit during a reception pause (T.sub.b -T.sub.r) only. In order to achieve an optimum distribution of the optical pulses on the optical waveguide 3, the first transmitter/receiver unit 1 measures the timing on the optical waveguide 3 and causes, if required, by a modify signal, the second transmitter/receiver unit 2 to a modified transmission time of its optical signals. Thereby, a control loop is established, automatically achieving an optimum pulse distribution on the optical waveguide, within certain limits (FIG. 3 ).

  • Patent number: 5347401
Abstract: A reflecting telescope is described, in which the surface of the primary mirror is in the form of a pitch circular surface of a hypothetical, rotationally symmetrical large mirror. The optical axis parallel to the incident optical path and the focal point of the primary mirror and the large mirror are consequently identical. The primary mirror or pitch circular surface are located alongside the optical axis, so that all the optical and mechanical aids to be arranged in the vicinity of the focal point can be located outside the light incidence area and the reflection field, without optical correcting means being required.
