Abstract: A system is provided implementing an extremely high speed link allowing selection of either twisted pair (or like media) and fiber media in a single local area network to provide a high speed multimedia local area network. A high speed transmission link for twisted pair, coaxial cable media or the like is provided including a transmitter with a conversion device for receiving fiber optic data interface signals intended to drive a fiber optic data interface and for converting said fiber optic data interface signals into high speed transmission link signals of a form suitable to drive a shielded twisted pair medium. A receiver is provided including reconversion apparatus for regenerating the signal received from the shielded twisted pair medium back to an adequate signal level. The transmitter conversion device includes a buffer cooperating with an equalizer and a filter for forming the high speed transmission link signal.

Abstract: A Macpherson strut type suspension including a vehicular disc brake, wherein a strut and a coil spring are disposed at offset positions from the axis of a spindle as viewed in the direction of movement of an automotive vehicle so that a space required for installing a disc brake actuator is provided in a region in the proximity of the uppermost end of the a disc rotor in which a disc brake actuator is installed. This allows the disc actuator to be installed at the highest position above the ground without any interference with the strut and the coil spring. Further, the coil spring can be disposed in the proximity of a wheel.

Abstract: A respirator for emergency oxygen supply for passengers in aircraft, with a mounting container (1), which can be closed with a lid (2), is fastened above the row of seats, and accommodates at least one breathing mask and an exothermic chemical oxygen generator (3) connected to the breathing mask in a holder (4, 5). The pivotability of the lid of the mounting container is improved by rigidly arranging the holder on the mounting container (1) such that it permits the oxygen generator (3) to change its place by pivoting in the case of use.

Abstract: The invention relates to a mixer valve for hot and cold water having a cartridge-type body 10 with a rise 16 which is integral to the base 11 of its body and the rise having a slot 17 for holding a pressure balancer 18. The slot has passages for the inlet of water to the balancer and passages for the outlet of water from the balancer towards the plate-type mixer unit inside the body, the water coming out of the mixer unit and going towards the delivery mouth passing on outside and around the slot.

Abstract: The invention relates in general to a cutting and clamping sleeve contact for contacting a cable core transversely to the sleeve axis, and in particular for cable cores of the telecommunication technology. The contact is made of a metal sleeve shell and includes a clamping slot for the insulated cable core and a cutting and clamping contact slot within the sleeve for the stripless termination of the cable core. The present invention also relates to a method for producing the cutting and clamping sleeve contact. A portion 13 of a sleeve shell 12 is bent off radially into an interior of the sleeve body 12 and is provided with a cutting/clamping contact slot 2. A clamping slot 3 is opposite to the cutting/clamping contact slot 2 and is cut into the sleeve shell 15. The present invention improves the cutting and clamping sleeve contact, with regard to the independence of the cutting/clamping slot 2 from the movements at the clamping slot 3, and with regard to the observation of accurate tolerances.

Abstract: A local net area network, or LAN, configuration is provided with a multiple generic LAN channel architecture which can be logically and dynamically changed. The configuration control can be applied to each module of the network and to each port of a module of a LAN hub. The architecture provides multiple LAN protocols to be used simultaneously, as needed, through protocol specific functions. Industry standard protocol such as: token bus, token ring, and fiber distributed data interface (FDDI), can be implemented using the generic channel architecture and its characteristics providing respective network functions. The architecture also provides a digital collision detection method and provides information necessary for precise network statistics monitoring. The token passing ring architecture provides a logical ring formation within the generic channel. A token passing bus architecture uses modified Ethernet.TM.

Abstract: An automobile is provided with canvas top elements. The automobile includes a rear opening defined by a central pillar, rear body side portions and a rear body portion. A rear canvas rib is provided including a rear arch-shaped portion and a front arch-shaped portion. The front arch-shaped portion has lower end portions which are link-coupled with lower end portions of the arch-shaped rear frame. The lower end portions of the rear frame are disposed slidably along a longitudinal direction of the car body along guide rails provided in the rear side portions of the car body. The canvas rib is folded downwardly as the lower end portions of the arch-shaped rear frame slide in a forward longitudinal direction and the frame is folded upwardly to outstretch the canvas.

The ammunition feed canal (22, 24) has a rigid first canal partial section (36, 44) and a rigid second canal partial section (38, 46), which are connected to one another via arc-shaped connection end sections (40, 42; 48, 50). The connection end sections (40, 42; 48, 50) are provided at the corresponding trunnion (16) such that the connection between the barrel (12) and the associated ammunition container (26, 28), and consequently excellent ammunition feed, are guaranteed in any desired elevation position.

Abstract: A space heater for a motor vehicle contains a burner with a combustion air fan. A series resistor (24) is provided for partial load operation. This resistor (24) is arranged in a housing (2, 6) which surrounds the electric motor (4) driving the fan wheel (14) of the combustion air fan (1) and through which combustion air is passed for cooling the electric motor and the resistor (24). The resistor (24) is soldered to a printed circuit board (20) located radially on the housing, downstream of a combustion air passage opening (22) designed as a cutout in the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board preferably carries a sound-absorbing plate (34) with a cutout (36) in the area of the resistor.

Abstract: The invention relates to a protective circuit for the protection of the user from overvoltage and overcurrent, in particular for telecommunication installations. Prior art protective circuits comprise a fuse connected into the line connection, and a surge arrester with a heat-sensitive protection device, forming a cross path between the current path of the line connection and the earth conductor, the heat-sensitive protection device disconnecting the cross path in case of excessive power, and connecting it to the earth conductor.In the protective circuit according to the invention, a response of the heat-sensitive protection device (5, 6) will cause disconnection of the cross path of the surge arrester (1, 2) and closing of a short-circuit cross path (7, 8) behind the fuse (3, 4) between the line connection (a, a'; b, b') and the earth conductor (E). The protective circuit can be accommodated in a miniature plug for application in telecommunication installations.

Abstract: The invention relates to a terminal bank for the telecommunication and data technology, with a cable connecting member 1 provided with cutting and clamping contact elements 10 for the termination of incoming cable cores 14, and a terminating element to be latched thereunto for the connection of the incoming cable cores 14 with the outgoing cable cores 37. The cutting and clamping contact elements 10 of the cable connecting member 1 have contact lugs 7, onto which bifurcated contacts 9 of the terminating element can be plugged. The terminating element is adapted as a plug connector receiving portion 2 with chambers 23 being open towards bottom, for the insertion of plug connectors 6 connected with the outgoing cable cores 37, and that the bifurcated contacts 9 are provided at the plug connectors 6.

To achieve this, the support (10) is arranged on an inner half mask (3) of the respirator, and an access surface, which is exposed to the pollutant and contains the indicator (18, 118), is in flow contact with the air being inhaled, which flows through the passage openings (12, 112) between the eye space (16) of the full mask (1) and the inner half mask space (4).

Abstract: The invention relates a distribution rack, for cable distribution devices used in telecommunication and data technology. The distribution rack includes at least one base portion 1 and at least one swing frame 3 provided with termination modules 4 and pivotingly supported at the base portion 1 about a swing axis 13 provided at one side thereof. In order to improve the accessibility to the cable duct behind the swung-in swing frame and to facilitate wiring of the cutting and clamping contact elements 5 of the termination modules 4 with cable cores, the invention provides that the swing axis 13 of the swing frame 3 at the base portion 1 is retractably supported. Thereby, with the swing frame 3 retracted and swung-out, fully free accessibility to the cable duct 42 beside the base portion and behind the swing frame 3 is made possible. Power is fed to the motor by bringing a commutator constituting the rotor into sliding contact with brushes, in which a plurality of brush pieces branched from the brush are formed in such a manner that tangential lines formed by the brush pieces with respect to the commutator at predetermined contact points are made different at the tips of the brush pieces, and that the tips of brush pieces make different angles from the lines extended in the longitudinal direction of the brush pieces. The tips of brush pieces are bent to form a V shape in cross section. The tips of the brush pieces come in contact with the commutator at the opened legs of the V-shaped cross section.
