Abstract: A blocking device for vehicle reel-type safety belts with a ratchet wheel to be connected to the reel of the safety belt, a pair of pivotal pawls engageable with the ratchet wheel to prevent rotation of the ratchet wheel and thus the reel in one direction of rotation of the reel, a mechanism operable by an abnormal change of speed of the vehicle, capable of pivoting one of the pawls into engagement with the ratchet wheel and then said one pawl pivots the other of the pawls into engagement with the ratchet wheel stopping the unwinding of the safety belt.
Abstract: An apparatus with vertical frame with a pedal driven wheel inside said frame for supporting or being driven by legs of an invalid standing on said pedals or seated upon a seat at the upper interior part of the frame and a steering wheel extending forwardly of said frame and additional wheeled means supporting said frame on a substrate upright so that the person can move about or be pulled for being moved while exercising the person legs.
Abstract: A boat mooring device for being detachably affixed to the side of a pile extending upright in the water and which device has a vertically moveable element attachable to a boat for retaining the boat to the pile, but riding up and down with the boat during changes of tide or waves.
Abstract: A means of stabilizing a surface area of soil comprising a plurality of rings formed of rigid material which is resistant to wear and corrosion, soil rings being fastened together in spaced relationship to each other, said means being intended to be laid over the surface area.
Abstract: This invention relates to a pneumatic conveying system for pulverulent and particulate materials and provides a system adapted to operate at a high frequency of despatch with low material velocities and relatively low pressures and low volumes of air in relation to the material, the system being characterized in that a material despatch vessel has an automatic non-return outlet valve, a fill valve, an arrangement for venting air which enables the rapid filling of the vessel, a pneumatic system to ensure a firm closure of the despatch vessel's fill valve, a pneumatic system to regulate the despatch of material in accordance with the pressures obtaining in the conveying pipe line.
Abstract: A method and device for tuning each tone generating element of a musical instrument having solenoids electrically connected to an amplifier and a manually moveable magnet capable of being moved along each tone generating element individually to and from said solenoids.
Abstract: This invention builds into a standard high or ankle covering boot new and novel structure which consists of the specific padding required to make the boot safe for use in Full-Body-Contact Karate, Kick Boxing, and similar martial combat sports. The padding built into the boot has specific structure.
Abstract: A coin-operated machine for dispensing heated sausage from a cold storage compartment where the sausages are kept in a frozen condition. Two superposed rollers being rotated step by step in synchronism about a horizontal axes in a vertical portion of a chute and each roller being provided with a peripheral recess to receive one sausage with the top roller sealing the chute and segregating one sausage which it drops into the recess of the bottom roller. The sausage in the bottom roller recess is then exposed to a source of radiation of micro-waves for heating. While so exposed, a secondary rotor element rotates the sausage. The heated sausage is then dropped from the bottom roller into a dispensing chute.

Abstract: A gas combustion plant or apparatus comprising a combustion chamber, a burner for introducing the gas to the combustion chamber and a tubular heat exchanger for preheating the gas to be combusted, by heat exchange with the hot combustion gases. The burner and the tubular heat exchanger are combined in that the straight, parallel tubes are provided in a uniformly distributed pattern over the cross-section of one end portion of the combustion chamber. The end of the tubes adjacent the end of the combustion chamber are connected to an inlet for the gas to be combusted, which are accordingly introduced into the combustion chamber through the tubes at a high velocity creating a desired turbulence in the portion of the combustion chamber in front of the tube orifices.
Abstract: A vehicle safety belt connector has a tonque-shaped male member attached to the safety belt and having a notch in an edge thereof and a female member attachable to the vehicle. The female member has a pair of flat parallel walls with locking of the male member to the female member being effected by means of a pair of pins transversely movable in opposed slots extending inwards from the edges of the flat walls so that each of the pins, in their inner positions, engages one of the notches. A manually operable cam member serves to operate the pins.
Abstract: A spraying device comprises an outer compressible container and an inner compressible container. The outer container the interior of which having no communication with the surrounding atmosphere contains a preferably liquid active substance whereas the inner container initially contains air. The inner container communicates with the atmosphere via a narrow channel whereas the inner container is made permeable such that active substance may reach the inner container in small quantities. Squeezing of the outer container will thus generate a spray comprising air and active substance. The device may further have openings to enable air to be suck into the inner container after each use of the device.
Abstract: A forceps made in one piece of a plastic material has two arms having each a flat tip of a rectangular or square configuration. Said tips face each other and the arms are of a rigid beam-shaped structure but join in flexible portions. Near to the transition between said beam-shaped structure and said flexible portion each arm has a projection and said projections are dimensioned to engage each other when said tips are pressed against each other surface to surface.
Abstract: A composition of ceramic material, useful for forming seals in apparatus intended to be subjected to high temperatures, for example electrical heating elements, includes kaolin, silica, and zircon, and also calcium, sodium and boron ions, e.g. as frit and borate components, whereby the material remains substantially free of bubbling or foaming during a stage of heating to expand and harden it, and has enhanced properties of impact resistance and resilience.
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a compound 3-(N-2', 6'-xylyl)-carboxamide-pyridone-2. This compound has anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity.
Abstract: Machine for preforming shoe uppers of the kind of those in which the periphery of the upper is squeezed between two surfaces during the action of a mold reproducing the profile of the last on which the shoe will be mounted, characterized in that the mold is articulated by one of its ends about an axis fixed in relation to the frame of the machine, and in that said mold can be displaced in a direction at right angles to the axis of rotation of the lever supporting it.
Abstract: The present invention refers to a safety stopping device for marine engines and employs a cord connected at one end to the pilot of the boat and at its other end to the safety device for the grounding of the ignition circuit of the engine either by operating a pushbutton, or by ripping off said cord held between said pushbutton and a retaining head traversing said button and connected by a stem to a metallic head capable by its axial movement to connect two fixed contact terminals interposed in said ignition circuit.
