Abstract: The invention relates to storage-stable, thermosetting mixtures which contain polymaleimides, epoxide compounds having at least one allyl group, and optionally, curing agents for epoxide compounds, and/or curing accelerators for epoxide resin mixtures. These mixtures can be converted by curing into high-polymers which have excellent electrical properties (especially at high temperatures) and very good thermal properties.
Abstract: Curable mixtures containing (a) a polyepoxide compound having on average more than one epoxide group per molecule and (b) a diamine which contains hydroxyl groups and has the general formula Ia or Ib ##STR1## IN WHICH R is an alkyl radical having 2 to 16 C atoms, an aralkylene radical having 7 to 12 C atoms, an arylene radical having 6 to 16 C atoms, a cycloaliphatic radical having 6 to 12 C atoms or a radical containing at least one N, O or S atom in chains or cyclic groups, and R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 C atoms and in which, in formula Ia, the two OH groups are in the orthoposition or para-position relative to the methylene group, there being, in the mixtures, 0.5 to 1.5 equivalents of active hydrogen atoms, which are bonded to nitrogen and oxygen in the diamine containing hydroxyl groups, per 1 equivalent of epoxide groups.
Abstract: Process for the improvement of dyeing properties of pigments of the anilino and arylmercapto anthraquinone series for bulk dyeing linear polyesters by halogenation of unhalogenated or lower halogenated compounds of the formula ##STR1## WHEREIN A is an anthraquinoidal radical being free from nitro groups, X is --NH-- or --S--, n is a number of 1 to 4 and R.sub.1 to R.sub.5 are hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, arylcarbonyl or arylsulphonyl.
Abstract: New 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)-benzotriazoles are used for protecting light-sensitive organic materials. They are prepared by diazotization of a 2-nitroaniline, coupling of the resulting diazo compound with a phenol and reduction of the resulting 2-nitroazo compound.

Abstract: Compositions, useful as adhesives, comprise(i) an epoxide resin having glycidyl, .beta.-methylglycidyl, or 2,3-epoxycyclopentyl groups directly attached to oxygen, nitrogen, or sulfur atoms,(ii) as curing agent for the epoxide resin, either one of certain (cyclo)aliphatic amines or one of certain tertiary amines, and also(iii) a polymercaptan, and(iv) a polyene having at least two activated ethylenic double bonds, each .beta. to an atom of oxygen, nitrogen, or sulfur, the sum of these double bonds and of the mercaptan groups in the polymercaptan being at least 5.The compositions rapidly develop tack, so avoiding the need to hold, for a prolonged period in jigs, clamps, or other devices, objects being bonded together while the epoxide resin cures.
Abstract: New arylaminoanthraquinones of the formula ##STR1## in which one X denotes an aryloxy or arylmercapto group, the other X denote hydrogen atoms, one Y denotes a nitro group and the other Y denotes a hydrogen atom and W denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl, methoxy or trifluoromethyl group which are suitable for dyeing high-molecular organic compounds, especially for the bulk dyeing of linear polyesters.
Abstract: Substituted piperazine diones are stabilizers for synthetic polymeric materials normally subject to deterioration caused by ultraviolet light. The compounds are prepared by the alkylation reaction between a substituted piperazine dione and an organic halide. Polymeric compositions containing these stabilizers may also contain a hindered phenolic compound. A typical embodiment is 15,15'-dodecamethylene-bis(7,15-diazadispiro[5,1,5,3]hexadecane-14,16-dion e).
Abstract: Diepoxides which may be photopolymerized in the presence or absence of a photosensitizer contain a group having conjugated unsaturation attached to a nitrogen heterocycle, such as a hydantoin or barbituric acid residue, forming part of an advanced diepoxide. The resultant photopolymer may be crosslinked by heating in the presence of a curing agent for epoxide resins.The diepoxides are of use in the production of printing plates and printed circuits, especially multilayer printed circuits.

Abstract: Pyromellitic diimides of 3,5-dialkyl-4-hydroxyphenylsubstituted amines of this invention effectively stabilize organic materials against the effects of heat and oxygen. The diimides of this invention are prepared by reacting the appropriate 3,5-dialkyl-4-hydroxyphenylsubstituted amine with pyromellitic anhydride or pyromelletic diimide. An example of this class of stabilizer is N,N'-bis(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)pyromellitic diimide.
