  • Patent number: 6106650
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an article of fibre reinforced resin material includes the preparation of a reinforcement preform which includes one or more roves of staple fibres with sufficiently low twist to enable the fibres to slide relative to each other and thereby the rove to elongate when subjected to tension. The reinforcement preform is shaped by deforming the preform into the desired three dimensional shape of the article being manufactured. The shaping can be carried out before, after or simultaneously with impregnation with matrix material. The matrix material may be thermoplastic material incorporated in or with the preform.

  • Patent number: 6107848
Abstract: Apparatus for producing an oscillating signal in a predetermined phase relationship with an input signal which generates its output signal by mixing in variable proportions two or more reference oscillating signals. Preferably the reference signals should be in quadrature relationship and have approximately the same frequency as the desired output, but this is not essential. The output signal may be desired to be in phase with the input signal or to have a predetermined phase offset. In a further aspect, apparatus is described which generates quadrature related clock signals, which may be used as the reference signals in the phase-lock arrangement.

  • Patent number: 6102255
Abstract: A hand pump for a spray bottle permits upright or inverted operation while eliminating the need for a check valve or valves. An annular gap in the entrance section of the hand pump is so proportioned that when wet it will have the property to permit flow of liquid from the container to the dispenser, and to prevent flow of gas from the container to the dispenser. The entrance section has an axial slot therethrough and an axial groove in communication with the interior of the container and with the dispenser--the gap may be formed by a pair of circumferentially spacers. When the container is upright liquid can be removed through a distal end of a feed tube supported on the entrance section. When the container is inverted with the distal end out of the liquid and the entrance section submerged in the liquid, the liquid can be removed from the container through the axial slot, the axial groove and the annular gap.

  • Patent number: 6094364
Abstract: The invention relates to an inverter arrangement for simultaneous control of a stator flux and a torque of an electric machine (M). In the invention, the inverter of the inverter arrangement is controlled on the basis of a stator voltage reference (u.sub.sref) defined on the basis of the error variables (T.sub.err, .PSI..sub.err) of the torque and the stator flux; on the basis of the stator voltage reference, in turn, are defined reference values for the phase voltages (u.sub.aref, u.sub.bref, u.sub.cref) of the stator voltage. The phase voltages (u.sub.a, u.sub.b, u.sub.c) of the stator voltage supplied to the electric machine (M) are controlled by a feedback voltage controller (VAC) to correspond to the defined reference values (u.sub.aref, u.sub.bref, u.sub.cref) of the phase voltages.
