Abstract: A small swivel type working vehicle includes a running device (4), a swivel base (2) mounted on the running device (4) to be swivelable about a vertical swivel axis (X), a driver's seat (5) mounted on the swivel base (2), a control box (6) mounted upright on a top surface of the swivel base (2) forwardly of the driver's seat (5), a swing bracket (18) supported to be swingable about a vertical pivotal axis (19a) by a flange unit (17) provided at a front end of the swivel base (2), a boom (20) attached to the swing bracket to be swingable about a horizontal shaft (22), and a boom cylinder (21) connected at one end thereof to the swing bracket (18) and at the other end to the boom (20) for swinging the boom (20). The boom cylinder (21) is disposed outside the boom (20) to extend along a rear surface thereof. A walk-through space (100) is defined between the control box (6) and the driver's seat (5).
Abstract: A wheelchair convertible into a gurney that includes a main frame, a rear frame and a supplemental rear frame pivotally secured to the rear frame. The main frame includes a back portion pivotally secured to a seat portion which is pivotally secured to a leg portion. The rear frame is pivotally secured to the back portion. A guide arrangement is provided that coacts with the supplemental rear frame and the main frame whereby the main frame is in a first position. The back portion, seat portion and leg portion are arranged so that they are in different planes and when the main frame is in a second position, the back portion, seat portion and leg portion are arranged so that they are in a gurney position.
Abstract: There is disclosed a scanning electron charged-particle beam instrument facilitating a search for a desired field of view on a specimen. Also, a method of observing a specimen image with this instrument is disclosed. In field of view search mode, low-magnification images are gained from plural regions on the specimen. The image signals gained from the regions are sent to corresponding image memories and stored there. At the same time, the X and Y coordinates of the specimen at the low magnification are stored. If the image is rotated, the angular position and the direction are simultaneously stored. The image signals stored in the image memories are supplied to a CRT, and plural specimen images are displayed on the CRT. If a human operator selects a desired one out of the displayed images, a control unit controls a stage control unit according to coordinates read out, driving an X-Y translation stage.
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for preparing an alumina composition having high specific surface area and large pore volume, comprising preparing a reaction mixture having a given molar ratio between a monobasic acid and water by the use of an aluminum source such as acid-containing alumina obtained by heat treatment of aluminum hydroxide in the presence of an acid, bayerite, ?-alumina and ?-alumina, optionally adding an oxygen-containing organic compound or an inorganic polybasic acid as a pore structure controlling agent, performing sol-forming reaction, and then subjecting the product obtained by the sol-forming reaction to an appropriate operation such as alkali addition or heat dehydration treatment.
Abstract: A flexible pipe joint joins, in a bendable manner, a first pipe member provided with a partially spherical outer circumferential surface that protrudes outward in radial direction and a second pipe member provided with a partially spherical inner surface that can slide along the partially spherical outer circumferential surface. A sleeve made of a synthetic resin is inserted and fitted in a state of contact, bridging the inner circumferential surfaces of the two pipe members. The sleeve has a length that covers a cavity portion that opens inward in radial direction at a location where the two pipe members are joined together, and is elastically deformed substantially maintaining its circular tube shape when following a flexure of the two pipe members.

Abstract: A connection-switched capacitor storage system comprises plural capacitors, parallel monitors connected with the capacitors, respectively, switches for switching the connections of the capacitors from a series combination to a parallel combination or vice versa, and a control portion. The parallel monitors bypass the charging current for the capacitors when the terminal voltages of the capacitors exceed a given voltage, thus limiting increases of the terminal voltages of initializing the terminal voltages of the capacitors to their original level. The control portion controls initialization and switching of the connections of the capacitors. The control portion causes the parallel monitors to initialize the capacitors near the voltage at which the connections of the capacitors are switched by the switches.

The mower deck has a rearwardly opening recess formed in a sideways middle region at a rear end thereof. A mower input shaft is disposed on the top board for transmitting power to the rotary blades juxtaposed inside the mower deck to be rotatable about three vertical axes arranged sideways. The mower input shaft extends longitudinally of the body frame and has a rear connecting end. A PTO shaft is provided in a rear transmission mechanism that drives the rear wheels. Abstract: A leakage current of a dielectric overlaying a semiconductor wafer can be determining by moving a conductive probe into contact with the dielectric and applying an electrical stimulus, in the form of a fixed amplitude, fixed frequency AC voltage superimposed on a DC voltage which is swept from a starting voltage towards an ending voltage, between the probe tip and the semiconductor wafer. Conductance values associated with the dielectric and the semiconductor wafer can be determined from phase angles between the AC voltage and an AC current resulting from the applied AC voltage during the sweep of the DC voltage. The leakage current of the dielectric can then be determined from the thus determined conductance values.
Abstract: An operator presence sensing apparatus for a seat of a vehicle includes a base member (7, 8) for supporting the seat (6), and a relay member (9) extending vertically between the base member and the seat. The seat is oscillatable about a pivot axis (X) extending in a transverse direction in the base member. The relay member is pivotably supported at one end thereof by the pivot axis and at the other end by the base member through a cushion spring (10). A seat lift-up spring (12) is disposed between an underside of the seat and the base member for receiving part of the weight of the seat. The seat unoccupied by the operator is oscillated to a floating position lifted from the relay member by the lift-up spring.
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for production of vapor-phase growth carbon fibers. The apparatus can continuously produce these carbon fibers for a long time without blocking a furnace of tubular reactor of the apparatus. Also disclosed is a process for production of carbon fibers by means of the apparatus, a device for preventing deposition of carbon fibers on an inside of a furnace of tubular reactor, and vapor-phase growth carbon fibers produced in the apparatus. The vapor-phase growth carbon fibers include carbon nanofibers and/or carbon nanotubes. The apparatus includes a furnace of tubular reactor, at an end of which a feedstock-supplying nozzle is provided, and a discharge pipe inserted in the furnace of tubular reactor, the top end of which faces the opening of the nozzle and the bottom end discharges the carbon fibers.
Abstract: A new and distinct rootstock variety of Prunus named ‘VSL-2’ that is characterized by an absence of suckers, a vigorous growth habit, pink flowers, the ability to serve well as rootstock that is compatible with all other cherries, and the ability to propagate well by softwood cuttings, stool beds and meristem cuttings in vitro. In combination these traits set the new cultivar apart from all other existing varieties of Prunus rootstock.
