  • Patent number: 5301429
Abstract: A powered tool removes moldings or other mounted item without imparting damage to the surface being worked upon. The tool has a blade affixed to a handle. The handle and blade are interdigitated so as to form a flat surface along the bottom of the tool. This smooth, flat surface allows the tool to be deployed upon the surface and the blade then slid underneath the molding, such that, by a pneumatic force or other power supplied thereto, the tool easily lifts the molding away from the surface. The handle of the tool has a gripping portion and blade-engaging portion, such that the tool can be comfortably gripped to effect the removal of the molding. The damage to the surface is eliminated when using the present tool, in part, by the formation of the blade of plastic.

  • Patent number: 5301916
Abstract: A vehicular mirror clamping bracket used for securing mirror assemblies to a vehicle. The clamping bracket is a base and a clamp unit hinged to open and close, thus, permitting a support for a mirror assembly to be inserted into a throughbore within the bracket. The clamp is closed over the mirror assembly support applying torque and thereby holding the support in place. When the clamp is closed, a latch hook on the clamp engages a latch edge in the base thereby locking the clamp closed.

  • Patent number: 5294182
Abstract: An automobile car seat which connects to a child safety seat includes armrests which are pivoted and extended from recessed positions within the back of the seat and a headrest. When extended, the armrests prevent lateral movement of a child on the seat. When pivoted into a substantially upright position, the headrest may then be detached from the back of the seat and be releasably mounted to the seating portion. Straps attached to the headrest and the back of the seat are pulled forward from the interior of the back, such that the straps restrain forward movement of the child. The seat may be a bucket seat and may be deployed as the passenger seat of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5276310
Abstract: An electrically heated toolbox for heating hand tools that have been stored or used in a cold environment. The toolbox is a multiple drawer container which has installed therein heating sheets integrally connected to an outside electrical power source, alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC). The heating sheets warm the hand tools by radiated heat or direct heat when the heating sheets are connected to the outside power source. A desired temperature may be obtained by using the rheostat temperature setting device. The toolbox may be connected to a standard AC plug connection, a DC vehicle battery or, if desired, a cigarette lighter outlet of a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5257894
Abstract: A stowable loading ramp assembly for small vehicles, such as pickup trucks, vans and trailers, which includes a stowing chamber and an extendable loading ramp. The assembly is installable in a truck bed, or the like, with the stowed loading ramp access positioned toward the rear or tail gate of the vehicle. The loading ramp is locked in the stowed position by a floating locking plate, which is raised to permit the loading ramp to be withdrawn from the stowing chamber. The floating locking plate rides on a wheel on the top surface of the loading ramp until the ramp is fully withdrawn and, at that point, the wheel drops from the top surface loading ramp, locking the ramp in position. The floating locking plate also serves as a transition surface between the loading ramp and the top surface of the stowing chamber. Additionally, the loading ramp has attached thereto support legs, which provide support during the loading operation and, table legs which position the ramp at a height to be used as a table.

  • Patent number: 5251821
Abstract: A paint spray gun is provided with a mounting bracket for mountably supporting the housing of the gun. The bracket has a clamping section with a substantially circular opening therein. The bracket includes a split ring for clamping the gun within the circular opening, and has a shaft extending outwardly from the clamping section for mounting in a support. The mounting bracket allows placement of plural guns in close proximity for specialty work. The gun may further be provided with a thumb operated wheel disposed in a recess in the housing for controlling the flow of fanning air, and may have the needle which controls paint flow fixedly attached to an actuator piston assembly. In a preferred embodiment, all of the seals within the gun are formed from a material which will not swell or deteriorate when the gun is immersed in an organic solvent for a period of three hours. Preferred material for the seals is polytetrafluoroethylene.

  • Patent number: 5246329
Abstract: A flat bed truck for hauling vehicles of all types as well as other types of loads which includes a multi-positional flat bed to assist with loading and unloading the truck. The flat bed is slidable on a tilt frame and pivots away from the tilt frame and along the loading surface as the tilt frame is pivoted up and away from the truck. The fully extended loading position of the flat bed placing the front end of the flat bed below the undercarriage of the truck permits low clearance vehicles to be easily loaded onto the flat bed by a powered winch positioned on the flat bed. Also, the tilt frame is capable of rising to its full height to quickly dump loads that do not require extending the flat bed.

  • Patent number: 5247511
Abstract: A casing of a sound record playing apparatus includes of an upper body (1B) and a lower body (1A), and a vibration plate (16) is formed by reducing a thickness of a part of the upper body. An inner surface of the vibration plate is in abutment with a pickup (13) to amplify the vibrations of the pickup. Thus, a conical speaker which has been used conventionary can be eliminated, and the thickness of the recording disk reproducing apparatus is reduced. Expansion member (6) includes cam surfaces (71b, 72b) which force the grooved recording disk (2) away from the pickup (13) when the expansion member (6) is rotated conversely.
