  • Patent number: 4427952
Abstract: The oscillator circuit comprises a digital temperature compensation circuit connected to a low and a high frequency quartz oscillator. The two quartz oscillators have the same inversion temperature points and a different temperature behaviour. In the temperature compensation circuit a beat frequency is produced between the divided signal of the high frequency oscillator and the frequency of the low frequency oscillator and then fed to a correction circuit and multiplied therein with a correction factor which has been stored in a PROM. The obtained correction signal is fed into the frequency divider chain for obtaining a temperature compensated outgoing signal for use in a timer circuit. The temperature compensation circuit is simply designed and allows high accuracy, which is particularly well suited for a wristwatch or a photo camera.

  • Patent number: 4425538
Abstract: The timepiece includes a detector of the direction of the current in the winding of the motor which is used to detect the first reversal in current direction after the end of the driving pulse and to deliver a signal which is representative of this current direction. A comparator circuit (34-36, 38, 39, 48) is used to compare the moment of the appearance of this signal with a reference time which is fixed in relation to the driving pulse and to control a circuit (28-31, 33, 40, 44, 51, 46, 47) which controls the duration of the driving pulses in such a way that the instant at which the signal appears coincides with the reference time. This enables minimum energy to be imparted to the motor for a given variable load.

  • Patent number: 4416208
Abstract: An auxiliary device for sewing machines comprises tappets and switches in the coupling parts of the presser foot shaft. The tappets are arranged in accordance with a determined code and they activate a combination of the switches. The switches are connected to an electronic circuit in which the coded information relative to the presser foot is compared with information characterizing the set up of the machine for a desired sewing operation. A display is activated for indicating if both sets of information coincide or do not coincide with each other so that the user knows if the correct presser foot is inserted.

  • Patent number: 4415870
Abstract: An oscillator circuit having a digital temperature compensation circuit which contains two low frequency quartz oscillators, a beat frequency generator and a correction circuit and a logic circuit selectively controlling an addition circuit. The beat frequency generator receives the frequencies generated by the low frequency oscillators. The difference between the low frequencies is fed into the correction circuit which in turn cooperates with the logic circuit. The beat frequency generator is controlled by a high frequency oscillator having an integrated RC circuit and the correction circuit has a PROM in which the correction functions are stored. The selectively controlled addition circuit acts on the output signal of the first oscillator and corrects the frequency thereof.

  • Patent number: 4398832
Abstract: The timepiece comprises a first motor (8) driving the seconds hand (s) independently from the other hands indicating the minutes and the hours which are driven by a second motor (4). A logic circuit (5) is capable of controlling the first motor (8) in response to the actuation of control elements (C,S1, S2) external to the electronic circuit of the timepiece or by means (6) internal to this electronic circuit and in response to time base signals delivered by a frequency divider (2) so that the seconds hand indicates informations which are different from the ones for the display of which it is normally provided.

  • Patent number: 4393951
Abstract: The measuring device of the useful load and of the load on the axles of a truck comprises load cells mounted on a truck frame. A plate transmits the weight of the tipper and the one of the useful load to the load cells. The device comprises three load cells forming a system having three bearing points. The axis of the single front load cell is perpendicular to the common axis of the rear pair of load cells. This arrangement and the fact that each load cell is mounted on a knee-joint permits to eliminate the parasitic constraints of flexion and torsion on the load cells so that the load cells are submitted only to the constraints resulting from the weight of the tipper and the one of the useful load which improves considerably the precision of the measurement.

  • Patent number: 4391210
Abstract: Apparatus for attaching tags to garments, gloves, handbags and the like includes an assembly for feeding tags from a stacked supply to a tag attaching station, an assembly for affixing the tag to the garment at the tag attaching station, and a control network for controlling and sequencing the tag feed and tag affixing operations. The tag feeding assembly includes a mechanism for gauging the width and thickness of a tag and for adjustably accommodating the same. The assembly also includes a pair of upright arms designed so that a tag having a prepunched hole can be placed with the hole over one of the arms. The other arm may be adjusted relative to the first arm and the positioned tag so that it touches the tag edge. The adjustment of the measuring arm automatically adapts the tag feed mechanism to precisely the required distance necessary to transport the tag from the stacked supply to the tag attaching station.

  • Patent number: 4386857
Abstract: An electronic timepiece comprising counters and logic devices, in which the counters are utilized to memorize a variation of rate of the timepiece with respect to a time reference in response to actuation of a control means, and in which the logic devices are controlled by signals delivered by the frequency divider chain and are arranged to periodically effect automatic correction of the variation of rate by an amount equivalent to the value memorized in the counters. The invention relates to a timepiece which permits the user to himself adjust the rate of his watch by means of a simple manipulation not requiring any complicated adjustment of electronic circuits, and which further performs an automatic correction of the variation of rate.

  • Patent number: 4385291
Abstract: The data input device permits the selection of a symbol amongst a set of N symbols, e.g. for memorizing a message. A data input device permitting selection of a particular symbol from amongst a set of N symbols includes a display subdivided into K distinct display zones and K selecting elements, each K selecting element being associated with a specific one of the K distinct display zones. The device may be used, for example, in an electronic diary watch to select alphanumeric symbols and thereby record a message for use in the diary mode of operation. A microprocessor connected to the display and selecting elements first causes the set of N symbols to be divided and displayed equally among the K distinct display zones upon manual actuation of a data selection switch.

  • Patent number: 4384241
Abstract: A sewing machine drive having a mains rectifier (1) which, via a chopper (2) operating at a relatively high frequency, supplies direct current pulses to the driving motor (3). The duty ratio of these driving pulses is controlled as a function of a nominal value transmitter (11) and a current limiting circuit (14) controlled by the motor speed. This produces a smooth quiet, vibration-free operation of the motor (3) or the driven machine with a high degree of motor efficiency. Moreover, a speed-dependent current limitation occurs in such a manner that at high speeds a limited maximum current flows, which at the same time results in an output limitation.
