  • Patent number: 5135362
Abstract: A hydraulic axial piston pump has a rotating cylindrical barrel which defines pumping chambers and pistons reciprocating in the pumping chambers. A swash plate controls the length of travel of the pistons. During a part of each rotation of the barrel a piston will draw fluid into its complementary pumping chamber and during another part of each such rotation the piston will force fluid under pressure out of its complementary pumping chamber. Each chamber has an inlet valve which is closed when the pressure in the chamber exceeds the inlet pressure. Each chamber also has an outlet valve which is closed when the pressure in the outlet exitway exceeds the pressure in the chamber. High pressure fluid from the chambers is fed to shoes that ride on the swash plate to provide a fluid cushion between the shoes and the swash plate thus reducing friction.

  • Patent number: 5133426
Abstract: A security system, particularly for a vehicle, comprises an electrical security key usable to make circuits which either directly, or through relays controlling other circuits, render operable electrical devices necessary for the starting of the engine of the vehicle by a conventional ignition key and switch. To confuse a person attempting to breach the security, conductors necessary to supply power to the devices are made discontinous within a wiring loom of the vehicle and other conductors are tapped-in at sides of the discontinuities and extend to relay contacts operable by the use of the key. Further to confuse such person, further conductors are connected to other relay contacts but have no operating function.

  • Patent number: 5092721
Abstract: A double drop trailer has a central storage or cargo section whose floor is at a lower level than the floors of the front and rear storage (cargo) sections. A first lift having upper and lower cargo platforms is located in the central cargo section, and a second lift is located in the rear section. The first lift is initially positioned so that its lower platform is level with the floor of the front section. Cargo is then moved through the rear door, through the rear section, across the lower storage platform of the first lift and placed on the floor of the front section. More cargo is then moved through the rear door and placed on the lower storage platform of the first lift. The first lift is then lowered. Additional cargo is then moved through the rear door onto the second lift and this lift is thereafter raised permitting this cargo to be placed on the upper storage platform of the lift. Finally, more cargo is moved through the rear door and loaded into the rear section of the trailer.

  • Patent number: 5062184
Abstract: A clip for holding elongated devices such as wire, rope, tools such as screwdrivers, is provided. The clip is in two pieces. One piece is a flexible elastic elongated member with a series of spaced-apart beads near one end. The other piece is a molded plastic device having a base that has provision for attaching the base to a wall, post or pipe. Four side walls project from the base. Two opposed side walls have V-shaped cavities in them for receiving the elongated device. The beaded elongated member extends between the other two walls. The spaced beads enable the elongated member to be placed under tension as it crosses over the elongated device. The elongated member presses the elongated device toward the base and toward the walls of the V-shaped cavities. Thus the elongated device is held firmly in the clip.
