  • Patent number: 7437195
Abstract: A method for treating a subject is provided, including receiving a sensor signal responsive to the subject eating, analyzing the sensor signal, and driving a current into tissue of the subject responsive to analyzing the signal. The current is typically driven into muscle tissue of the subject's stomach (20). Preferably, receiving the sensor signal includes sensing electrical potential change generated responsive to contraction of a muscle such as a stomach muscle of the subject. In a preferred embodiment, the sensor signal is analyzed with respect to the timing of ingestion, and a level of compliance of the subject with a desired ingestion schedule is determined. As appropriate, a parameter of the current driven into the tissue may be configured such that the application of the current to the tissue induces in the subject a sensation of satiation, discomfort, nausea, or vertigo.

  • Patent number: 7416256
Abstract: In order to improve seating comfort and vibration absorbency, a structure including a first torsion bar unit 70 disposed in the rear of a seat cushion, and a second torsion bar unit 80 disposed in the front of the seat cushion, and a base net 60 stretched between a rear supporting frame 74 of the first torsion bar unit 70 and a front supporting frame 84 of the second torsion bar unit 80, is provided. Owing to the elastic force of a front torsion bar 81 of the second torsion bar unit 80 positioned in the front of the seat, a sense of stroke at the time of seating is enhanced. Owing to the elastic force of a rear torsion bar 71 of the first torsion bar unit 70 positioned in the rear of the seat, similarly to the conventional structure, a load of a seated person can be sufficiently received and a stable seating comfort can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 7389630
Abstract: The present invention automatically and continuously packs women's sanitary products, paper diapers, and the like in a sealed manner and is installed in toilets of hotels, public toilets, and the like used by general public. When a trash is put in, film pull-out rollers (50), (60) are rotated by a motor (70) and films (31), (41) are pulled out from film feed rollers (30), (40). When passing between film pull-out rollers (50), (60), the trash is sealingly packed between the two films (31), (41). Therefore, since the trash can be automatically packed in a sealed manner and a clean state is maintained, the present invention is suitable for installation in toilets of hotels, public toilets, and the like used by general public.

  • Patent number: 7379712
Abstract: A wearable device comprises one or more circuit substrates comprising electrically conductive parts, a radio unit and a loop antenna coupled to the radio unit. The loop antenna comprises a conductor formed into a loop, wherein the electrically conductive parts of at least one of said one or more circuit substrates substantially act as a ground plane for the loop antenna. Said at least one circuit substrate is positioned substantially on the same plane with the loop and such that at least the electrically conductive parts of said at least one circuit substrate are within an area defined by the loop when said at least one circuit substrate and the loop are observed perpendicularly with respect to a plane of the loop in order to minimize the ground plane effect of the electrically conductive parts of said at least one circuit substrate on the loop antenna.

  • Patent number: 7356420
Abstract: Analyzing system for the detection of reducing and oxidizing gases in a carrier gas, wherein the detection means are sensors based on semiconductor-type metal oxides that work in the absence of oxygen. The system includes means for connecting to a chamber which contains the sensors, and moreover in that the processing and control include a system of real-time recognition of the gases, which provides a diagram in which the measurements taken on the carrier gas are situated and identified. The analyzing system permits analysis of the gas in real time.
