  • Patent number: 8030857
Abstract: A backlight LED drive circuit 20 includes a step-up DC/DC converter 22 for stepping up a DC power voltage based on a PWM signal and supplying the voltage to the anode of an LED device 12c, a voltage detector 24 for detecting a feedback voltage FBV based on a voltage at a terminal 22b coupled to the cathode of the LED device, a PWM control circuit 26 for outputting a PWM signal to the step-up DC/DC converter 22 so that the feedback voltage FBV may become a predetermined voltage, and a PWM stop circuit 28 for stopping the PWM signal when the feedback voltage FBV is below a second predetermined voltage set smaller than the predetermined voltage. Thereby, such backlight LED drive circuit causes no troubles even when terminal to which the LED device is connected is rendered open.

  • Patent number: 8009182
Abstract: There is provided a display device that enables to present an image on its screen at a desired resolution, in response to an operation by a user and on the basis of an image signal, even when the image signal is obtained from image data from which a resolution is not directly determinable. When image data from which the resolution is undeterminable is inputted, the display device presents thereon data input window that prompts the user to input desired values of the resolution and pixel clock at which the image is to be presented. The user then inputs his/her desired values of the resolution and pixel clock through the image-data input screen. Using the inputted values of the resolution and pixel clock, the display device presents the image on its screen based on the image data that is not normally supported by the display device.

  • Patent number: 7992164
Abstract: A microcomputer 18 obtains a variable RRT from a broadcast signal and stores, in a recording medium, the variable RRT in association with a physical channel; sets a viewing restriction flag for an item in the variable RRT based on an operation input from a user; applies viewing restriction to the broadcast signal when rating information indicates the level at which the viewing restriction flag has been set in the variable RRT; and, when a logical channel is not associated with the selected physical channel, tunes, as an alternative channel, a physical channel with which a logical channel has been associated in the channel map of the other tuner, and associates a variable RRT associated with the alternative channel, with the selected physical channel.

  • Patent number: 7986373
Abstract: An upper left protruding section 63a, an upper right protruding section 63b, a lower left protruding section 64a, and a lower right protruding section 64b are provided at vertically extending bridge frames 60, and an upper left screw-fixation section 65a, an upper right screw-fixation section 65b, a lower left screw-fixation section 66a, and a lower right screw-fixation section 66b are formed by causing the respective protruding sections to be bent, so that it is possible to cause the vertically extending bridge frames 60 to be screw-fastened directly to a back face of a PDP module 30. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the number of parts, save the labor of assembling work, reduce the mounting defects, and cut costs.

  • Patent number: 7975278
Abstract: There is provided a digital broadcast receiving apparatus capable of notifying a user that an item in itself exists even if a blank exists in the name portion of an item in the variable RRT to prevent the user from omitting setting. The microcomputer 18 acquires a rating region table (RRT) from a transport steam (TS) signal and attaches a flag capable of restricting viewing to each level in the RTT based on inputs entered by a user while displaying the RTT on a screen. If rating information including the TS signal expresses the level on which the flag capable of restricting viewing is attached, viewing of a program including the rating information is restricted, a blank in the level, item and table names included in the RRT is detected and the detected blank is substituted with a predetermined character string.

  • Patent number: 7967165
Abstract: A metal reinforcement fitting 10 including a strip 12 curved vertically upward is attached to a bottom 20b of a transportation container 20, and thus upward force can be applied to the bottom 20b. The upward force of the metal reinforcement fitting 10 can suppress downward force of a heavy article housed in the transportation container 20. Accordingly, if the metal reinforcement fitting 10 is attached to the bottom 20b of the transportation container 20 before the heavy article is housed, the bottom 20b can be prevented from bulging. Additionally, even if the bottom 20b of the transportation container 20 has already bulged, instability caused by deformation of the bottom 20b can be improved by attachment of the metal reinforcement fitting 10. Thus the provided metal reinforcement fitting has durability for long-term use of a transportation container.
