Abstract: The performance management system and method enable users to set performance targets and analyze performance measures for a company based on financial information. The system displays three template areas respectively containing historical financial data for a first time period, predicted financial data for a second time period, and financial performance measurement changes from the first time period to the second time period, where financial performance measures are displayed for each of the time periods. The second template area receives target input variables that include target NOPAT growth, target TRS, and target dividends per share. The system and method enable the recursive adjustment of at least one of the target input variables for a future time period until a percentage change in the target TRS displayed in the second template area is equal to a user selectable target TRS value.

Abstract: Technician control, in which a control system is configured to control scheduling and dispatch operations for work orders being handled by technicians. Multiple technician devices are each associated with one or more technicians, are configured to communicate, over a network, with the control system, and also are configured to provide output in response to communications that are received from the control system and that are related to the scheduling and dispatch operations performed by the control system. A set of scheduling configuration options may be pre-defined and user input weighting at least one of the scheduling configuration options relative to other of the scheduling configuration options may be received. A scheduling application used by the control system to perform scheduling operations may be configured based on configuration data that reflects the weighting and scheduling operations may be performed using the configured scheduling application.

Abstract: A test script transformation architecture helps generate accurate test scripts for evolving applications. Applications often have complex graphical user interfaces for which the permutations and combinations of GUI elements give rise to an enormous field of potential commands and command sequences to be tested. Furthermore, these applications change over time, rendering prior test scripts unworkable. The architecture facilitates the automatic generation of new test scripts to reliably test subsequent application versions, while greatly reducing the time, cost, and resource expenditures needed to arrive at new test scripts.

Abstract: A system is disclosed that provides a goal based learning system utilizing a rule based expert training system to provide a cognitive educational experience. The system provides the user with a simulated environment that presents a business opportunity to understand and solve optimally. Mistakes are noted and remedial educational material presented dynamically to build the necessary skills that a user requires for success in the business endeavor. The system utilizes an artificial intelligence engine driving individualized and dynamic feedback with synchronized video and graphics used to simulate real-world environment and interactions. A robust business model provides support for realistic activities and allows a user to experience real world consequences for their actions and decisions and entails realtime decision-making and synthesis of the educational material. Techniques for process sensitive help are also integrated into the system to provide contextual examples to guide a user in performing a task.

The agent feedback module may include a vendor identification program, an agent feedback settings program, an agent feedback program, an agent reporting program, an agent summary program, and an agent profile program. The agent feedback module communicates with the agent feedback database to store mapping records and details relating to agents, vendors, vendor-specific locations, and feedback for the agents. The agent feedback program is operative to autopopulate one or more fields shown in an agent feedback graphical user interface by referring to mapping records stored in the agent feedback database.

Abstract: A real time sales support method includes automatically monitoring an interaction between a sales agent and a customer. One or more contexts of the interaction are determined and, based on the contexts, stored information relevant to the interaction is automatically retrieved. The retrieved information is provided in an electronically presentable format to the sales agent to be shared with the customer.

Abstract: A generative model is used to develop at least one topic model and at least one sentiment model for a body of text. The at least one topic model is displayed such that, in response, a user may provide user input indicating modifications to the at least one topic model. Based on the received user input, the generative model is used to provide at least one updated topic model and at least one updated sentiment model based on the user input. Thereafter, the at least one updated topic model may again be displayed in order to solicit further user input, which further input is then used to once again update the models. The at least one updated topic model and the at least one updated sentiment model may be employed to analyze target text in order to identify topics and associated sentiments therein.

Abstract: In a machine learning system in which a plurality of learned models, each corresponding to a unique domain, already exist, new domain input for training a new domain model may be provided. Statistical characteristics of features in the new domain input are first determined. The resulting new domain statistical characteristics are then compared with statistical characteristics of features in prior input previously provided for training at least some of the plurality of learned models. Thereafter, at least one learned model of the plurality of learned models is identified as the basis for the new domain model when the new domain input statistical characteristics compare favorably with the statistical characteristics of the features in the prior input corresponding to the at least one learned model.

The system may determine the degree of effort to modify any impacted component based on the architecture model. The system may determine the overall impact on the software program based on the degree of effort determined for the impacted components.

The generic algebraic specification may provide a generic abstraction across a plurality of the computing systems in the distributed computing environment.

A user (or other type of entity) who wishes to communication with one or more entities that satisfy a particular context specifies that context at the time the communication is to be sent. A system resolves the context by ascertaining which one or more entities satisfy the context, and the communication is sent to the ascertained entities. In one example, a user can specify that a message is to be sent to an entity at a particular geographic location, and the system chooses the one or more entities that are nearest to the specified location.

The second simulation model is optimized and second prediction data that estimates performance of the second policy is computed using the optimized second simulation model. The first prediction data is compared with the second prediction data, and a determination of whether the first policy is better than the second policy is made.

Abstract: The workforce planning tool (WPT) decomposes, maps, and allocates historical cost center data of an organization, including personnel costs and non-personnel costs, to a process hierarchy used to identify target improvements. The WPT calculates baseline costs to operate the processes of the organization with no processing errors. The WPT calculates actual costs to operate the processes, and identifies an improvement target for the organization by comparing the baseline costs to the actual costs, and the historical cost center data of the organization.

Abstract: An audio and/or video media content providing device includes a controller, such as a server, that is responsive to RFID tag based information obtained from a remote RFID enabled media object. The controller is operative to facilitate access to media content associated with a stored periodically changing media content list. For example, a content registry database may be periodically updated through a suitable user interface to change a link between content identification information read from a remote RFID enabled media object, with media application information so that the same RFID tag may allow the downloading of different media. The link between the content ID and the media ID may be dynamically changed through the controller. This may be advantageous, to provide for example, a Top 10 song card or other RFID enabled object that stays the same but can be used to securely download different media over time.

Abstract: A system that includes a graphical user interface that may be used to access information contained in a database is provided. The graphical user interface includes a matrix of icons that correspond to textual excerpts. A textual excerpt is displayed above the matrix and the displayed textual excerpt changes as a user moves a pointing device over the icons. The user may perform searches of character strings contained in the textual excerpts. The color of the icons that correspond to textual excerpts that satisfy the search request is different from the color of the remaining icons. The interface also allows the user to rapidly and efficiently perform searches to retrieve information from the database.
