    Abstract: The invention relates primarily to ultrasonic machining which involves vibrating the part to be machined rather than a tool of the machine. To impart vibrations to the part to be machined it is secured to a metallic part for transmitting vibrations which is in turn connected to a transducer for converting electrical oscillations into mechanical vibrations. An abrasive is supplied to the space between the opposed operative faces of the tool and the part to be machined. The invention also relates to an installation for carrying out the method which includes a machining enclosure and a recycling assembly for recycling the abrasive liquid mixture which is used during the process.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a new device for discharging smokes, fumes and greases from various indoor premises and comprising a set of ceiling elements arranged with smoke, fumes and grease discharging slits therebetween.It is characterized in that the ceiling elements it includes are hollow and crossed by water whose circulation is ensured by pipes interconnecting the elements, which elements form condensers with water-cooled heat-transfer surfaces.Discharging of the grease deposits collected on the condensers is effected by washing with water containing a detergent, this water being supplied by spray-rails, while the washing water and the dissolved greases are collected by the drains.Hoods are provided above the slits separating the drains (the later being close to one another) in order to completely secure the premises against dripping of the greases and washing water during the cleaning operation, which is performed only when it proves necessary.

    Abstract: The invention concerns solid solutions of oxides of iron and of a divalent metal other than cobalt Co.sup.2+ or, alternatively, of iron and of more than one divalent metal, including cobalt. Besides Co, the divalent metals may be Ni, Cu, Mn, Zn, Mg and Cd. Such solutions are prepared by precipitating a mixed oxalate containing iron and the other divalent metal or metals desired. This mixed oxalate is decomposed by heating it in open air at a progressively increasing temperature until carbon is eliminated but without forming rhomboedric oxide .alpha.-Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3. The pyrolyzed product is treated by hydrogen and steam at an elevated temperature to obtain a substituted magnetite, and this magnetite is oxidized in air at such a temperature as to avoid formation of .alpha.-Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3.

C and notably in magnetic tapes.

    Abstract: A device for measuring the time interval separating the appearances of two correlated pulses which have independent amplitudes and rise times includes two timing circuits. Each timing circuit includes a time to pulse height converter which is started by a threshold discriminator when the first pulse s passes through a preset amplitude threshold, and stopped by another threshold discriminator when the second pulse passes through the same threshold. The thresholds of the two timing circuits are different, and the output signal of each circuit is related to the duration of the interval to be measured by a respective conversion factor. The ratio of the two thresholds is equal to the ratio of these two conversion factors. A differential output circuit receives the timing circuit output signals and outputs a signal proportional to the difference in their amplitudes, which is also proportional to the duration of the interval to be measured.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus for determining the wave number of optical spectrum radiation, particularly for use in controlling lasers. Two parts of a beam provided by a source to be monitored, particularly a laser, are directed to two double-wave interferometers. The differences of the optical path lengths .delta. of the interferometers are assigned a difference of .lambda./4 which corresponds to a phase difference of .pi./2. The two optical output signals emerging from the interferometers are converted into sinusoidal electrical waves in quadrature as a function of the wave number .sigma. = 1/.lambda. of the laser and the period 1/.delta. of the two sinusoidal electrical waves. The electrical waves are processed in suitable circuitry to obtain a modulo value 1/.delta. of the wave number. These steps are repeated for different values of .delta. so as to progressively eliminate uncertainty in the value of the wave number.

C, the increase in temperature being applied for at least about 3 months, in simultaneously and progressively increasing the said daily lighting to an optimal value in the range of about 131/2 to 16 hours, in feeding the prawns daily and to repletion with steroid-rich substances and in then maintaining the optimal conditions of temperature and lighting the entire duration of oviposition.Ovipositions of prawns may be obtained all the year according to the process of the invention.
