Patents Assigned to Anchor Continental, Inc.
  • Patent number: 6077577
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a compact tape core upon which a pressure-sensitive tape may be wound. The tape core comprises two rectangular-shaped identical halves which may or may not be joined together permanently at one end with a hinge mechanism. Each tape core half has apertures and mounting studs for clamping the two halves together around a winding mandrel so that pressure-sensitive tape may be wound onto the outer surface of the tape core. In certain embodiments of the present tape core, one or both of the outer surfaces of the tape core have an inward or concave shape relative to the horizontal plane and in other embodiments one or both of the outer surfaces exhibit a bulging or convex shape relative to the horizontal plane. Another embodiment of the compact tape core has a keyway with supporting arms disposed in the cavity between the core halves for mounting the core onto a winding mandrel.

  • Patent number: 5525655
Abstract: A water based stencil filler that can be cleaned off monuments with a water wash, the filler being comprised of a tackified elastomer aqueous dispersion formulation containing (a) a rosin derived resinous composition which is a substantially a polyhydric alcohol rosin ester dispersion, (b)a carboxyl-containing rosin derived resinous composition having an acid value of from 30 to 150 and a softening point of from -25 C to 150 C, at least partially neutralized with a counter ion capable of carrying the resinous composition into solution or dispersion in water, (c) a supplemental surfactant, and (d) a rubber.

  • Patent number: 5281288
Abstract: A double sided tape comprised of a carrier which is coated with a first pressure sensitive adhesive which is a water swellable adhesive that contains a lubricity component that temporarily, so long as water is present, imparts a high degree of slip to the nominally tacky surface of the adhesive when the adhesive is wetted with water, wherein the lubricity component is a high molecular weight polyoxyethylene resin, and where said carrier is coated on its opposing side with a second pressure sensitive adhesive, which is substantially a rubber based adhesive having good shear properties, wherein the double sided tape is wound in roll form with an interleaving double sided release liner which is laminated to the first pressure sensitive adhesive.

  • Patent number: 5070641
Abstract: A flexible, continuous web of a protective foldable tape with borders of pressure sensitive adhesive on each of its longitudinal edges for automated securing of the tape to a pre-installed mulch system. The tape is wound about a core forming a cylindrical roll. In application, the protective tape is adhered to the mulch bed as it unwinds from a spindle centered above the bed by pressing the adhesive zones against the mulch covering the bed. The spindle is mounted on farm equipment capable of tracking the bed path. The equipment can be self-propelled or pulled by a tractor. Prior to dispensing the tape, the bed can be fitted with support devices such as hoops, stakes or wire.

  • Patent number: 4911563
Abstract: An attachment for a flexible package is disclosed to enable the user to fasten a re-closable package. A bifurcated adhesive member is secured to the body portion of the package at a distance from the opening thereof. The member has a jaw-like construction with hingeline about which one of the jaws may pivot. When the jaws are opened by the user, the re-closed, folded end of the package may be inserted therebetween, and the jaws subsequently closed to retain the package in re-closed condition. It is particularly useful for flexible packages of corn flakes, potato chips, cheese, etc., where portions of the contents are removed over a period of time, gradually decreasing the volume of the contents and forming a sequentially smaller package which should be re-sealed to preserve the freshness of the contents.

  • Patent number: 4516976
Abstract: An adhesive tape fastener for a diaper, which has a front surface and a back surface, which fastener comprises a first, second and third adhesive tape each of which has its front face coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive. The first adhesive tape has a free end portion which is adapted for attachment to a marginal portion of the front surface of the diaper and a fixed end which is joined to the adhesive face of a second adhesive tape. The second adhesive tape has a free end portion which is adapted to form a first fastening tab and a fixed end which is joined to the adhesive face of a third adhesive tape. The third adhesive tape has a first free portion which is adapted to form a second fastening tab and a second free end portion which is adapted for attachment to a marginal portion of the back surface of the diaper to form a second anchor tab. The second anchor tab is finger tearable whereby in use it can be detached from the fastener to allow the first fastening tab to be used to refasten the diaper.

  • Patent number: 3940513
Abstract: In U.S. Pat. Nos. 3,437,622 and 3,761,307 and U.S. Pat. application Ser. No. 323,944, filed January 15, 1973 and now abandoned, are disclosed pressure-sensitive adhesives, the required cohesive strength of which is provided by a polyurethane polymer in place of the natural or synthetic rubber of the prior art. However, some of such polyurethane-based adhesives are not highly resistant to moisture unless special procedures are used. For example, they may lose 20 to 75% of their adhesiveness after exposure for 3 days or less to 90% relative humidity at 150.degree.F. This invention discloses means of overcoming this problem by combinations of excluding moisture, adding minor proportions of the reaction-products of hydroxylated elastomers or of hexamethylene tetramine.
