Abstract: An improved composite closure is described which includes a cover portion and a molded plastic ring portion. The plastic ring portion is molded by a new method with top tool core removal which permits formation of inwardly directed tabs or fishhooks on the tamper evident ring. The molded ring also permits the cover to be inserted from the top of the ring rather than upwardly over the ring threads, which is an easier and faster method of assembling a composite closure.
Abstract: Improved means are described for sealing thin-walled and relatively flexible containers. The improvements are made in straight line sealing machines which include side belt arrangements which encapsulate the filled containers and which also provide means for heating and then for pressing on and for twisting composite closure caps into a finally sealed position on the encapsulated containers.
Abstract: A hollow vertical cyliner is open at its lower end. A deck having an opening communicating with the interior of the cylinder seals the upper end of the cylinder. A cap for the top end has essentially the same shape and size as the top end. The cap has a first relatively small section and a second relatively large section. The first section is secured to a corresponding portion of the top end. The two sections have facing edges which are spaced from each other except for a common central region which defines a second integral living hinge. A prong is secured to the second section and is insertable into and removable out of the opening in the deck.

Abstract: A hollow vertical cylinder is open at its lower end. A deck having an open communicating with the interior of the cylinder seals the upper end of the cylinder. A cap for the upper end has essentially the same shape and size as the top end. The cap has a first relatively small section and a second relatively large section. The first section is secured along a portion of its periphery to a corresponding portion of the upper end periphery by an integral living hinge. The two sections have adjacent edges disposed along a curved line which extends across the deck, these edges being secured to each other at opposite ends of the line and being otherwise unsecured to each other. The secured edges at each end of the line each constitute a separate integral living hinge. The first section is secured to the top end in a region spaced from both hinges. A prong is secured to the second section and is insertable into and removable out of the opening in the deck.
Abstract: A package is described which includes individual paperboard packages folded from blanks and which contain and display articles such as glass tumblers or goblets. The individual packages are assembled in sleeves also folded from paperboard blanks which accommodate two, three or four of the individual packages while exposing them for display.
Abstract: A tamper-evident closure cap is described which is easily applied to a cantilever and which thereafter may not be removed without the separation of a tamper indicating band. Locking tabs on the tamper indicating band are hinged to the band with and over-center hinge means for facilitating the effective tab position on a sealed container.
Abstract: A dispensing package is described for toothpaste or similar products. The package has a product chamber which is filled with the product and a propellant and has a valve operated nozzle including a reed-type outlet in which operation of a valve button causes the product to flow outwardly through the normally closed reed opening. The nozzle including the reed-type outlet is molded plastic of generally conical form adapted to fit over the product and propellant container.
