Abstract: The present inventions are intended to improve heat efficiency of a refrigeration system having plural refrigerating cycles of different evaporating or condensing temperatures typically used in breweries. Each of main lines of different evaporating temperatures are connected with each of suction lines to a compressor respectively, to enable the system to save energy and to establish a back-up system of compressors. A different condensing temperature system having a common refrigerant source is provided with refrigerant transferring means to transfer refrigerant from an refrigerant excess cycle to an refrigerant insufficiency cycle.
Abstract: An abrasion-concealing agent for glass containers, which comprises (A) a polyorganosiloxane and (B) a volatile polydimethylsiloxane, a glass container in which abrasions on the surface thereof have been concealed by the abrasion-concealing agent, and a method for concealing abrasions on a glass container by using the abrasion-concealing agent. The abrasion-concealing agent has excellent abrasion-concealing properites, film strength, water resistance, safety, workability and resistance to an aqueous alkaline solution washing, and does not cause any damage to labels on glass containers in the coating process.
Abstract: The invention relates to N-[N.sup..alpha. -(1(S)-carboxy-3-cyclohexylpropyl)-L-lysyl]-N-cyclopentylglycine which is useful as antihypertensives.
Abstract: In a light powder granule treating system, a light powdery granule supplying member is connected to a light powdery granule treating member through a supply conduit, and a sensing member is arranged for detecting the light powdery granules being so stagnant within the conduit as to form a massive flow of a thickness which exceeds a predetermined value. When the sensing member detects the stagnant light powdery granules, it generates a detection signal which in turn stops the light powdery granule supplying member from operating.
Abstract: Disclosed is a composition for concealing graze marks on a transparent glass bottle which comprises:(A) 100 parts by weight of polydiorganosiloxane having a viscosity of 10 to 100,000 cSt at 25.degree. C.
Abstract: A coating apparatus for the scratches of a glass bottle comprises: a rotary disc for rotating and transferring the bottle; a coating roller which is eccentrically provided and applies coating liquid to the barrel surface of the bottle transferred by the rotary disc; a feed roller for feeding the coating liquid to the periphery of the coating roller and a feed member for feeding the coating liquid to the feed roller; a driving unit for rotating the feed roller together with the coating roller and a control equipment for controlling an output of the driving unit; and a bottle holding member for holding the upper and the lower portions of the bottle when the application of the bottle with the coating liquid is performed by the coating roller; wherein, the rotational speed of each of the above rollers is controlled by the control equipment.
Abstract: A capping machine for application of sealing caps which cover the bungs of a variety of liquid containers which comprises a cap holder with a vertical cylindrical shape in which a plurality of sealing caps is piled up with the upward open ends to form a cylinder, a horizontal circular band made of a resilient material which is arranged at the bottom of the cap holder, making the internal surface thereof identical to that of the cap holder, a pneumatic system which intermittently inflates the internal surface of the resilient circular band toward the center thereof, a sucking member which takes down and holds a sealing cap located at the extreme bottom of the sealing cap pile in the cap holder during the period in which the resilient band holds a sealing cap second to the bottom, and a means which changes the direction of and carries sealing cap held by the sucking member and applies the same to a bung of a liquid container.
Abstract: A powdered malt wort product for preparing beverages is produced by fermenting a brewer's malt wort with a lactic acid producing bacteria such as Streptococcus faecalis and then spray-drying the fermented wort. The resultant powdered fermented wort may be mixed with cocoa or chocolate, plus milk solids and sugar to produce a beverage.
Abstract: A container having a rimmed shrink cap closing the mouth thereof. The shrink cap comprises a cover made of a nonshrinkable material and having an outer diameter somewhat larger than the external diameter of the tubular mouth of the container. The shrink cap also comprises a tubular skirt portion made of a shrinkable material. The upper end of the tubular skirt portion has substantially the same outer diameter as that of said cover. The skirt portion of the cap is shrunk so that the lower portion of the skirt is in tight sealing contact with the neck of the container and the upper edge portion of the cap is formed in the shape of a laterally outwardly projecting rim. Because of the thus-formed rim, the cap can readily be twisted so that it can be removed from the tubular mouth of the container.
Abstract: A method of cooling beer, wherein beer contained in a cylindrical fermentation tank of a large capacity and undergoing a fermentation process extending from the beginning of fermentation to the termination of fermentation, is cooled by employing cooling jackets mounted on the external wall surface of the sidewall of the tank and on the bottom of the tank and wherein cooling is more intense at the lower layer of beer in the tank.
Abstract: Most beers brewed with the addition of cysteine proteases, such as papain, ficin or bromelain, for the purpose of chillproofing develop a tendency to gush or foam excessively after being stored in bottles and cans for 1 to 3 months. This gushing tendency is obviated by adding during the beer manufacturing process a special kind of acid protease whose proteolytic activity is specifically inhibited by the pepsin inhibitor S-PI from Streptomyces naniwaensis.
Abstract: A method of obtaining lupulin-rich products from hops, which comprises: subjecting frozen hop cones to coarse crushing by a first crusher equipped with a screen having width of openings in the range of 6 - 15 mm and sieving fragments of crushed hops passing therethrough to obtain a first lot of lupulin-rich product as accumulated beneath the sieve; and then subjecting the portion which passed over the screen of the sieve to recrushing by a second crusher equipped with a screen having narrower openings than that of the first crusher a screen having width of openings in the range of 3 - 6 mm, and sieving fragments of recrushed hops passing therethrough to obtain a second lot of lupulin-rich product as accumulated beneath the sieves. The method is performed on hops and particles thereof maintained in the frozen condition.
