  • Patent number: 8086219
Abstract: Multiple access internet portal billing systems are provided. A representative system, among others, includes a communication facility, a wireless internet server, and a transaction billing system. The communication facility includes a billing platform, and is operable to connect to a plurality of wireless device platforms through a mobile network, and to connect to the wireless internet server. The wireless internet server provides internet access to the wireless devices and communicate at least one billing information record including a usage time to a transaction billing system. The transaction billing system receives the billing information record from the wireless internet server, formats the billing information record, and communicates the formatted record to the communication facility billing platform. Methods and other systems for multiple access internet portals are also provided.

Abstract: A driver of a vehicle is identified and a command is sent to a mobile communications device that is associated with the identified driver and that is in proximity of the vehicle to force the mobile communications device to change modes such as to enter a hands-free or other suitable mode. The driver may be identified through one or more techniques including biometric sensing, key detection, switch controls, and so forth. Additionally, the driver and/or feature settings preferred by the current driver may be identified by receiving data from the mobile communications device. The data may identify the driver ID with preferred feature settings, the mobile communications device which has an association to a driver ID with preferred feature settings, or the data may specify the preferred feature settings.

  • Publication number: 20110137948
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes receiving, at a computing device, a request from a user device to access requested data. Based on the request, a reader object is selected that specifies data access information associated with accessing data from a particular data source. Computer-implementable access code is dynamically instantiated to access the requested data from a data source based on the reader object and the request. A data access request is sent to the data source based on the computer-implementable access code. The requested data is received from the data source and a presentation object is selected that specifies data output information associated with the reader object. Computer-implementable output code is dynamically instantiated to output the requested data based on the presentation object. Output data, including the requested data, is sent to the user device in a presentation format specified by the computer-implementable output code.

  • Publication number: 20090073321
Abstract: The present disclosure is generally directed to a video stream processing system and to a system and method of displaying a video stream. In a particular embodiment, the method includes receiving a video stream to be displayed on a display device. During a first time period, a low resolution version of the video stream is displayed while a full resolution version of the video stream is being recovered. The method further includes synchronizing the low resolution version of the video stream with the full resolution version of the video stream, and, during a second time period after the first time period, switching between display of the low resolution version of the video stream to display of the full resolution version of the video stream.

  • Patent number: 7451309
Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for specifying a signature for an encrypted packet stream. One method receives the encrypted stream of packets, and encryption obscures the contents of a packet. A signature for insertion into the stream of packets is specified, and the signature identifies a type of data encrypted within the stream of packets. The signature identifies the contents of the packet despite the encryption obscuring the contents.
