  • Publication number: 20210146044
Abstract: A cassette with free flow prevention for use with an ambulatory pump. The cassette includes a free flow prevention clamp and a housing. The free flow prevention clamp includes a clamping section having a first side and a second side, a first elongate section extending from the first side, and a second elongate section extending from the second side. The housing supports the free flow prevention clamp and defines a channel for receiving a tube. The elongate sections extend parallel to the channel and the clamping section extends across the channel. The free flow prevention clamp is configurable within the housing in an open condition that allows fluid flow through the tube when force is applied to one of the elongate sections and in a closed condition that prevents fluid flow through the tube when the force is removed from the elongate sections.

  • Patent number: 10864312
Abstract: A tubular medical fluid flow set comprises a pressure sensing chamber connected in flow-through relation to fluid flow tubing of the set. The pressure sensing chamber defines a movable, flexible, impermeable diaphragm dividing the chamber into two separate compartments. The fluid flow tubing communicates with one of the compartments and is isolated from the other of the compartments. A port is carried on the chamber, the port having a seal therein, and communicating with the other of the compartments. Thus, the other of the compartments is hermetically sealed until the port is opened for connection with a pressure measuring device, to keep the flexible diaphragm in a desired, initial position prior to opening of the seal.

  • Patent number: 10549248
Abstract: An exemplary compounding method of controlling a compounding device to prepare an admixture of at least two distinct material sources can include examining material source solutions for incompatibility of the ingredients and operating a first and a second pump to prevent one of the incompatible source solutions from entering a common flow path. The processing method can detect degradation of a fluid line by evaluating one or more of calibration error rate data, cumulative volumetric flow data, or cumulative pump operation data. The processing method can also selectively transfer a first group of source solutions using the first pump, receiving pump data from one or more sensors that sense actions of the pumps, applying fluid correction factors and calculating discrete pump movements, the pump movements being indicative of an amount of source solution displacement by a pump, and operating the pumps to selectively dispense the source solution amounts according to a preparation order.

  • Patent number: 10364914
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter relates to a valve device that includes a valve member located within a housing in which the valve member's operation can be bypassed. For example, the valve device can include a bypass device that has an input structure, a motion conversion structure, and an output structure. The input structure can include a portion configured to resiliently deform if a valve opening input force is applied to the input structure in an input direction. The motion conversion structure can be configured to convert the valve opening input force into motion of the output structure in an output direction that is non-parallel to the input direction. The output structure can be configured to move the valve member (e.g., from a closed state to an opened state in order to bypass normal valve operation) if the motion conversion structure is displaced in the input direction. The valve device can be used in various manners, and is particularly suitable for use in a patient fluid delivery system.

  • Patent number: 10344874
Abstract: Releasable tubing pinch clamps of a generally U-shaped configuration are described. The embodiments include ones that prevent cross-clamping of the tube by various interlocking features on riser portions of the clamp. Methods and molds for making the pinch clamps are also described. For example, a pinch clamp can have a strip that curves so that its ends can be brought together by manually squeezing the strip at its end, which oppose each other as a result of the strip curve. The strip ends have locking edges or surfaces that cause the strip ends to interferingly engage with each other and lock together. The strip also has opposing pinch projections that can pinch a tube.
