  • Publication number: 20080010774
Abstract: A device and method for cleaning the air-intake system of an EGR-valve-equipped diesel engine includes a dispersion component which mixes air and a liquid cleaning solution before delivering them to the air intake system of a running diesel engine. A main air intake is blocked and the EGR valve is removed and replaced with a coupler that receives the dispersion component, whereby a pressure drop is created. The pressure drop creates sufficient vacuum so that cleaner may be administered into the air-intake duct of the running engine. The cleaning solution is provided to the dispersion component under pressure supplied by a pressurized air source.

  • Publication number: 20080011327
Abstract: A cleaning solution, which is particularly useful in cleaning the air-intake system of an EGR-valve-equipped diesel engine, includes a high-polarity solvent and low polarity solvent. The solution may also include a surfactant, a fatty amide, and a functional ketone. The cleaning solution is applied to the air intake system while the diesel engine is running, thereby drawing the cleaning solution into the air intake system to clean the same. The EGR valve is removed and replaced with a vessel in which a pressure drop is created. The pressure drop creates sufficient vacuum so that cleaner may be administered into the air-intake duct of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20070029139
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a device and method for removing and replacing oil in an engine in a vehicle. The device includes a container and a control system. The container contains a cap assembly, a tubular housing, and a base assembly. The tubular housing is located between the cap and base assemblies and is sealably coupled therewith. The control system includes a pressure system and a transport system. The pressure system includes a pressure gauge, a vent valve, an air valve, and a regulator. The pressure system is connected to an air source. The transport system includes a control valve, an air hose adaptor, and an oil port connector. The transport system is connected to the pressure system via a connector hose. In operation the device operates to remove and replace the oil in a engine prior to startup.

  • Patent number: 6978753
Abstract: A device for and method of decarboning a combustion chamber and compression rings in an internal combustion engine. The device is a squid shaped container with a cylindrical body, a screw cap, and conduits depending from the body for transmitting cleaner to the combustion chambers on the engine. Once cleaner is transmitted to the combustion chambers, the engine is bumped to work the fluid into the compression rings using an automated system with a timer. When the engine is bumped, the device allows the cleaner to be vented to the device to avoid hydrolocking the engine. The device also contains the cleaner so that it is not splashed outside the engine.

  • Patent number: 6886664
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and process for exchanging an engine fluid for maintenance purposes. The fluid is accessed through the engines reservoir for that particular fluid. Used fluid is removed simultaneously with the introduction of new fluid. In order to maintain a constant level of fluid in the reservoir, and thus, prevent overflow or cavitation problems, a control module is presented that enables the user to control the rate of new fluid flow into the reservoir relative to the rate of used fluid and to activate and deactivate the new and used fluid pumps. During operation, the module is located in close proximity to the reservoir such that the user is able to observe the fluid level while relating the flows.

Abstract: Disclosed is a device and method for cleaning the air-intake system of an EGR-valve-equipped diesel engine. The EGR valve is removed and replaced with a vessel in which a pressure drop is created. The pressure drop creates sufficient vacuum so that cleaner may be administered into the air-intake duct of the vehicle. The vessel uses sizeable vanes to control the vacuum. The vanes also create turbulence which make the cleaner more effectively contacted with contaminants existing within the air intake system. An auger is also disclosed for cleaning out the inside surfaces of the air-intake duct so that contaminants are not allowed to crumble into the air intake system. Also disclosed is a cleaner which is particularly useful in cleaning diesel engines and may be used with the devices and methods described above.

  • Publication number: 20030190595
Abstract: A method and sampling system are provided for sampling and marketing fluid replacement services. Once an automobile arrives at the service facility, the automobile service technician quickly obtains fluid samples from the various systems of an automobile. While the consumer provides relevant information relating to the vehicle to a customer service technician, the automobile service technician places the fluid samples into receptacles allowing the consumer to visually inspect the condition of each fluid. The service technician then provides new fluids in proximity to the actual fluids of the engine to allow a side-by-side comparison of the visual condition of the fluids. The samples are then presented to the consumer while the consumer is in contact with the customer service technician to allow the consumer to make a determination as to whether the fluids must be replaced.
