  • Patent number: 4852768
Abstract: A dosing syringe has a cylindrical syringe body which at its tapering end has a dispensing orifice and at its other end a stepped cylindrical enlargement with two opposing handles. A recess is located below each handle, and a piston is inserted into the cylindrical syringe body. The piston is in contact with a dosing plunger having an external thread. Two threaded sides are arranged around the plunger and each threaded side has a positioning projection introduced into the recesses of the enlargement. According to the invention, the piston is connected to the dosing plunger by a spring retainer connection and the threaded sides have an outside groove in which an O-ring is inserted in countersunk fashion to hold the two threaded sides together. As a result, the piston-dosing unit can be prefabricated and introduced as a complete unit including the threaded sides into the enlargement of the syringe body where it is fixed simplifying the production technology of the dosing syringe.

  • Patent number: 4846342
Abstract: A container which can be easily filled and handled for the packing of two compositions which must be separately kept until mixed shortly before use, consists of two separate chambers which are arranged one upon the other in a packing unit. The upper chamber is provided with a closeable orifice for the delivery of the mixture. An intermediate part is arranged between the two chambers and such part has cutting edges or sharp mandrels on both sides thereof which allow the two compositions being separately kept to be mixed by cutting the bottom part of the upper chamber and the upper part of the bottom chamber when the container is pressed or screwed together.

  • Patent number: 4698869
Abstract: An electrically operated toothbrush comprises a housing with an electromotor inside the housing. The motor includes a rotatable shaft, means converting the rotary movement of the rotary shaft to an oscillatory movement of a brush support shaft which extends through the housing, and a toothbrush is attached to the free end of the support shaft outside of the housing. Sensing structure generates an impulse representative of the pressure exerted on the toothbrush during toothbrushing. A microprocessor or electronic device receives the impulses from the sensing structure during toothbrushing and compares those impulses with stored information representative of a predetermined optimum pressure range for toothbrushing. A signal transmittor releases a signal perceptible by the user of the toothbrush when the pressure on the toothbrush exceeds the predetermined optimum pressure range.

  • Patent number: 4506400
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrically operated toothbrush with oscillating motion, whose angle of oscillation can be adjusted. This is a easily achieved by the fact that the rotation of the electric motor producing the motion can be reversed by pole changing, and thereby the radius of the circular orbit of the bolt of a rotating shaft connected to the holder taking up the slip-on brush in a curve-like opening of a free disc is changed in its dimension, thus producing a variation of the angular deflection of the rotating shaft.

  • Patent number: 4479592
Abstract: The invention is directed to a dispenser of the type used for providing mured amounts of a paste, such as a toothpaste or shaving cream. A cylinder having a dispensing mouth but otherwise closed at the top is mounted for sliding movement within a casing in the bottom of which is a coiled spring and from which a piston rod extends upwardly toward the said mouth. A piston is slidably mounted on the piston rod with walls adjacent the inner wall of the cylinder, with a reed spring clip supporting the said piston. When the cylinder is pressed downwardly against the spring, the piston cannot move because of the gripping action of the reed spring clip and a predetermined amount of material is ejected from the mouth. Upon release of the cylinder, it moves upwardly under the force of the spring for a predetermined distance, and by action of the spring clip moves the piston upwardly. The parts are then in position for the next dispensing action.

  • Patent number: 4442958
Abstract: A container for holding a viscous liquid medium and from which the same may be selectively dispensed in a desired amount includes a rigid body having a deformable top portion and carrying a dispensing mouthpiece. The application of an inwardly-directed force to the mouthpiece deforms the container top portion and causes displacement of the mouthpiece partially into the container interior such that valve openings in the mouthpiece that are normally disposed sealingly within a valve body in the interior of the container are carried to a position remote from and clear of the valve body to clear the valve openings and permit a dispensing flow of liquid through the mouthpiece and thereby out of the container body.
