  • Patent number: 10478917
Abstract: A welding system comprises a two manipulators and a controller. A first manipulator has a joint detection device and a first welding device, usually of the laser type while the second manipulator has a second welding device, usually of the arc weld type. The joint detection device is operative to read welding joint characteristics along a welding joint. The controller determines a corrected trajectory based on a predetermined welding trajectory and on the welding joint characteristics read by the joint detection device. This corrected trajectory is transmitted with a first time delay to the first manipulator and with a second time delay to the second manipulator. The second time delay is a function of a distance between the joint detection device and the second welding device. A corresponding method for welding components along a welding joint is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10471539
Abstract: A laser containment device, adapted to be mounted to a laser head, has an outer shell and an inner wall defining a peripheral chamber there in-between. An inner seal and an outer seal, respectively mounted to the outer shell and to the inner wall, are adapted to contact a workpiece. The peripheral chamber, encircling an opening in the laser containment device for letting a laser beam reach a workpiece, may be connected to a differential pressure generator operative to generate a differential pressure therein. A pressure sensor is located within the peripheral chamber to read the differential pressure. In use, the laser head, mounted to a computer-controlled manipulator, emits its laser beam. The pressure sensor sends its pressure readings to a controller which compares their values with a predetermined pressure threshold. If the pressure readings cross this threshold, the controller stops the emission of the laser beam.

  • Patent number: 10442448
Abstract: A secondary suspension system for a railcar comprises a chassis, a primary spring, a levelling actuator, a first hydraulic circuit and a secondary spring. The levelling actuator is adapted to be connected to the carbody. A piston shoulder, located at the lower portion of the piston and below an opening in the chassis, reaches farther than the opening so as to be capable of catching the chassis. The secondary spring is at least partially positioned underneath the piston shoulder. The piston is operative to adopt a high position inside the body under a pressure of a hydraulic fluid injected in a lower chamber below a piston head. This makes the piston shoulder abut against the chassis, thereby compressing the primary spring between the body and the chassis without compressing the secondary suspension.
