  • Patent number: 5531160
Abstract: The push rods (16, 17) are connected via ball-and-socket joints (42-45) to the ram (3). The sockets (44, 45) are located within the push rods (16, 17) and the balls (42, 43) are located above the ram (3) and mounted to same. Thus, in case of off center loadings of the ram (3) no bending moments are transmitted to the push rods (16, 17). The entire bottom side of the ram (3) is available for the receipt of connecting members for the mounting of a tool to the ram.

  • Patent number: 5522244
Abstract: When starting up the punch press its eccentric shaft must accelerate through a start-up angle from the resting state up to the operating speed of rotation due to the forces of inertia of the moving structures of the punch press. When stopping the punch press the eccentric shaft is rotated in the direction of normal operation into a position between the upper dead center and the lower dead center position, in which latter position no contacting between the upper tool and the metal strip to be worked upon takes place. From this position the eccentric shaft is rotated backwards by the start-up angle into a start-up angle position. In the start-up angle position again no contact between the upper tool and the strip takes place.

  • Patent number: 5482225
Abstract: An unwinding station in which a coil of band-like material is unwound with a vertical axis, i.e. lying in a horizontal plane, is provided for loading a processing machine with the band-like material from the coil. Consequently, the band taken off from it is in a vertical plane and, for insertion into a processing machine, must be turned in a turning zone. A centering device is provided for centering the band with respect to the central axis of the processing machine, in order to avoid internal stresses in the band before the band is turned.

  • Patent number: 5468931
Abstract: The supporting block for the focusing device of a laser welding apparatus is mounted onto the working surface of the body of the lower tool. The cutting edge of the die set into the body of the lower tool is aligned with the working surface. For a resharpening of the cutting edge the working surface is reground and accordingly also the area, on which the supporting block rests. Conclusively, no readjusting of the focusing device relative to the welding point at the die is necessary.

  • Patent number: 5358164
Abstract: The lever of a mechanism for driving a sheet feeder is guided for linear longitudinal movement in a guide member. The guide member is supported rotatably in a bearing pedestal, which is height adjustable. The lower section of the lever is shaped as a hollow profile having inner sliding surfaces. A slide member is located at the sliding surfaces. The slide member receives a pivot, by which a shaft is driven oscillatingly. The slide member is located for longitudinal movement at the center axis of the lever and, accordingly, the lever is not subjected to any torsional loadings and the entire apparatus can be made relatively narrow. This decreases elongations during the operation of the apparatus considerably.

  • Patent number: 5163595
Abstract: Pivot arms which carry the pressing bar are hingedly mounted to the rocker. At their opposite ends these pivot arms are hingedly mounted such to the frame that in one position the axis of rotation of the lower feeding roller coincides with the pivotal axis of the pivotal point at which the pivot arms are hingedly mounted to the frame. The pressing bar is thereby hingedly mounted via a link connection to a pivot point at the frame that a parallelogram of movements is provided, based on which the pressing bar is moved exactly perpendicularly against the workpiece to be arrestingly pressed.

  • Patent number: 5138922
Abstract: The balancing weight for the balancing of the rotating forces is connected via link members to respective balancing weights for the balancing of the oscillating forces. The balancing weights for the balancing of the oscillating forces are each pivotable mounted to the machine frame at one end via projections. At the respective opposite ends they include further projections, via which those ends are pivotably connected to each other via a pivot member. This forms the guiding of the movement of the balancing weights.

  • Patent number: 5110026
Abstract: The crank assembly of the advancing apparatus is eccentrically supported in an intermediate shaft. This intermediate shaft is in turn supported in an oscillating slide. Accordingly, the oscillating movement of the slide is superimposed over such of the driving pivot of the crank assembly. The intermediate shaft includes a cam disk. Due to the cam disk the intermediate shaft oscillates in operation and causes in turn the oscillating movement of the slide, which oscillating movement proceeds oppositely to the oscillating movement of the driving pivot. The sum of these two movements in the zones of the end positions thereof is accordingly zero. Accordingly, the driving pivot is at rest over a prolonged time span. Due to this prolonged rest period between individual feeding steps, elastical deformations of working structures and of the workpiece being worked upon, can attenuate and fade out prior to the working proper, and at the same time the length of the advancing is not subjected to a change.

  • Patent number: 5102026
Abstract: A pair of arms is hingedly connected to a rocker. These arms support the pressing bar. At their opposite ends the arms are pivotably mounted such to the casing of the appratus that in one position thereof the axis of rotation of the lower feeding roller coincides with the pivot axis of the pivotal point of the arms at the casing. By this design it is no longer necessary to adjust the apparatus for the intermittent feeding of a web-shaped workpiece by utilizing auxiliary structures to various respective thicknesses of the web being fed.

  • Patent number: 5099731
Abstract: A punch press, which is controllable by a control apparatus according to a design characteristic curve for the depth of immersion as function of the number of strokes, is provided with a control input, by means of which a correcting value can be inputted. The punch press operates then at a new point of operation. At a change of the number of strokes, the control apparatus computes with the correcting value and the present design characteristic curve a new design characteristic curve. Such punch press allows the production of punched and embossed products at a higher precision within the entire range of number of strokes.

  • Patent number: 5090282
Abstract: The limiting of the movement of the stroke of the ram is made by at least one fixed abutment. At least one fixed abutment includes a feeler, which determines the elastic deformation of the respective abutment which is generated by the striking force of the ram. The outgoing signals of the respective sensor are led to a control unit for the adjusting of the height position of the ram. This adjusting of the height position of the ram proceeds via an adjusting motor followed by a gear train. By means of the fixed abutments the position of the lower dead point of the ram relative to the punching tool lower part may be adjusted in accordance with the prevailing conditions. Conclusively, it is also possible to exactly set the depth of immersion of the punching tool upper part with its dies in the punching tool lower part, which thus can amount also to 0 or even less.

  • Patent number: 5062561
Abstract: The driving gear meshes with the gear on the web of a planetary gear. This planetary gear includes an arrestable sun wheel. The output sun wheel is rigidly connected to the drive shaft. It extends through a sleeve section of the web. A longitudinally displaceable shifting sleeve is located on the sleeve section, which shifting sleeve has a plurality of control disks. These control disks control via a roller the rocking movement of the upper feeding roller. Accordingly, the period of the rocking movement can be selected depending on a respective selected control disk. If the sun wheel is unlocked, the shifting sleeve may be moved such that it engages directly the drive shaft such that by properly selecting the number of teeth it is possible to choose between a rotational speed transmission relation of 1:2 and 1:1.

  • Patent number: 5052257
Abstract: The balancing weights are hingedly mounted at their lower ends to link rods. These link rods are hingedly mounted to an extended section of first rods. At opposite ends the balancing weights are hingedly mounted to reversing levers that in turn are hingedly mounted to second rods. The first rods and the second rods are supported on a common eccentric sleeve. Accordingly, the drive of the balancing weights does not come from structural members of the machine which are directly mounted to the ram. Accordingly, no mass forces and oscillations of the balancing weights and of the structures driving same can be transmitted onto the ram. Conclusively, the moving sequence of the ram and accordingly the cutting or embossing action is no longer influenced detrimentally such that the quality of a respective product produced is improved.
