Abstract: In an abnormal driving behavior detection system for a vehicle, an obtainer repeatedly obtains an observed value indicative of at least one of a running condition of the vehicle and a driver's driving operation of the vehicle. A mode-probability calculator calculates, each time an observed value is obtained at a given obtaining timing as a target obtained value, a mode probability for each of driving modes as a function of one or more previous observed values. A deviation calculator obtains a predicted observed value for each driving mode using a driver's normal behavior model defined therefor, and calculates a deviation of the target observed value from the predicted observed value for each driving mode. An abnormality determiner determines whether there is at least one driver's abnormal behavior based on the mode probability for each driving mode and the deviation calculated for each driving mode.

  • Publication number: 20060107082
Abstract: A microcomputer includes a plurality of operation mode selecting terminals to which data for selecting plural operation modes are set. The plurality of operation mode selecting terminals is designed so as to be usable as general-purpose input terminals or output terminals. A decoder decodes the data set to the plurality of operation mode selecting terminals and outputting a mode signal for switching an internal function in accordance with a selected operation mode. A timing signal output unit outputs to the decoder a timing signal for making the decoder execute a decode operation. The timing signal output unit outputs the timing signal when at least one of power-on-reset and an externally controlled reset is varied from an active state to an inactive state.

  • Publication number: 20060100763
Abstract: A planar pressure-sensitive switch unit has multiple pressure-sensitive switches that are disposed in a longitudinal direction of a bumper cover of a vehicle with given intervals for detecting the number of collision objects. Collision load sensors are disposed between a bumper reinforcement and side members for detecting a total collision load by adding up two outputs. Then, a collision load per a single collision object is computed by dividing the total collision load by the number of collision objects and is compared with a collision load corresponding to a pedestrian. Thus, even when the vehicle collides with multiple objects at the same time, collision with a pedestrian can be properly determined.
