Patent number: 10610279Abstract: Apparatus and methods for regulating cryogenic treatments are disclosed which comprise devices and methods for delivering controlled treatment of a cryoablative agent. In one variation, such devices may generally comprise an elongate probe having a distal tip and a flexible length, at least one infusion lumen positioned through or along the elongate probe, wherein the infusion lumen defines one or more openings along its length, and a liner expandably enclosing the probe. An inflow reservoir or canister valve may be fluidly coupled with a reservoir or canister containing the cryoablative agent and a modulation control unit may also be fluidly coupled with the inflow reservoir or canister valve and in fluid communication with the at least one infusion lumen. Additionally, a warming element may also be thermally coupled with the reservoir or canister.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2014Date of Patent: April 7, 2020Assignee: Channel Medsystems, Inc.Inventors: Daniel R. Burnett, Ric Cote, William W. Malecki, Brian M. Neil, David Beaulieu, Benjamin D. Voiles, Vincent Lopresti

Publication number: 20200078072Abstract: A tethered system for cryogenic treatment is disclosed in which a hand piece having an elongate probe with a distal tip and a flexible length, at least one infusion lumen positioned through or along the elongate probe, and a liner may be tethered to a base station having a reservoir of a cryoablative fluid via a connection having an elongate flexible body. The connection defines at least one fluid lumen for delivery of the cryoablative fluid from the reservoir and to the infusion lumen within the hand piece.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2019Publication date: March 12, 2020Applicant: Channel Medsystems, Inc.Inventors: Ric COTE, William MALECKI, Scott SYLLIAASEN, David BEAULIEU, Sarah BLOOD, Vincent LOPRESTI, Paul MUNRO

Publication number: 20190151144Abstract: Methods and apparatus for the treatment of a body cavity or lumen are described where a heated fluid and/or gas may be introduced through a catheter and into treatment area within the body contained between one or more inflatable/expandable members. The catheter may also have optional pressure and temperature sensing elements which may allow for control of the pressure and temperature within the treatment zone and also prevent the pressure from exceeding a pressure of the inflatable/expandable members to thereby contain the treatment area between these inflatable/expandable members. Optionally, a chilled, room temperature, or warmed fluid such as water may then be used to rapidly terminate the treatment session.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 16, 2019Publication date: May 23, 2019Applicant: Channel Medsystems, Inc.Inventors: Daniel R. BURNETT, Brian M. NEIL, William W. MALECKI, Kathleen M. KOCH, Gregory J. LEE

Publication number: 20180125561Abstract: Liners for cryogenic treatment systems are described where a cryogenic fluid or gas may be introduced into a liner expanded within a body lumen such as the uterine cavity. The liner may be intentionally sized to be substantially larger than the typical size of the uterine cavity, e.g., 1.2 times (or more), greater than the size of the uterine cavity into which the liner is inserted. Because the liner is sized intentionally larger than the body lumen to be treated, the liner may never fully expand when deployed. But even with folds or portions of the liner being folded upon itself, the liner may remain sufficiently supple such that the resulting uncontrolled folds allow for complete conformance of the liner against the anatomy of the contacted tissue.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 11, 2018Publication date: May 10, 2018Applicant: Channel Medsystems, Inc.Inventors: Daniel R. Burnett, William Malecki
